I completely understand. I am 29 weeks pregnant, with a 5 year old, husband and work full time. I am 14 months into my loc journey and I see a locitian and use it as my “me time.” I sit and let her retie my hair while we watch Hulu. I am not mommy, wife or project manager during that time and it gives me a break.

My locs are different sizes too and I do my own reties. It takes me 12hrs but I love it, and its done every 7 weeks so that's not bad to me. Don't think I will let anyone do my retie cause I aint coming off that money lol

I've tried to thug it out but a thug is losing time lol. As of now I still don't have a loctitian so I am still doing my reties.

Girl! Go ahead and get you a loctician. To me it's a form of self care. Also, doing so will give you a planned break from the baby. Trust me you'll need it. Congratulations again on the pregnancy!

I’ve had more negative experiences with salons and stylists than positive ones so I plan on starting and maintaining my locs myself. I wouldn’t want them to mess my locs up after so much hard work. BUT if I had a lot going on and just absolutely could not maintain them for months, then I’d have no choice lol your locs are pretty!

Happy 2years Loc anniversary 🎉❤👏🏾 Your hair look beautiful and I don’t think your Loc end are bunched. I believe those of us that Start our locs with two stands twist and maintain with interlocking methods mostly always have thicker ends, because the ends are not as tightly compacted as the interlock area of our locs.
    Hope this helps💕

Congratulations on your marriage and your little one on the way! I have been following you for a while now and was inspired to loc my hair after seeing some of your earlier videos. Your hair is gorgeous and has grown so much! So I'm hopeful that my will flourish as yours has. As for getting a loctician, I say go for it. I self-retie and my arms, wrists, and back ache for days afterwards, so I can only imagine how I would feel if I were pregnant, lol! But I recently transitioned from retwisting my microlocs, so I'm not quite ready to give up just yet. But do this for yourself. Relax, put your feet up, and use that time you save to get your beauty rest!

Your loc’s are perfectly normal. They are expanded and they will contract. I’m excited for you!

Loctician all day! I told mine that we are tied at the hip for life. 🥰

I would get a loctician especially with the baby at least for this time. It is nice but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do too. Take care of yourself and rest when you can. That may mean I’m somebody’s chair getting your hair done. ❤

I have the same issue where my ends are bigger than my shaft. O started with two strand twist and went to interloc after 5 months. I have debated on citing off the chubby ends or twisted part. I only thought of this because they have swelled to not fit in my needle very well. Still debating because I cut one at the point where interlocking started. At that point I realized it would be 2-3 inches coming off of some locs. I am happy my locs have come to my shoulders as well so I’m torn.

I don't see it as an issue for myself or my locs. I'm enjoying the locing process and recognize that this is all a part of the process. Good luck to you!
