That doesn't seem realistic
They didn`t revert back. Barney going briefly back to his standard way after a breakup was a constant in the show, as much as Ted growing the breakup beard.
We watch himym to escape reality. The whole series is a comedy and reality can’t be a complete comedy. They set up a happy ending. They could FOR US the last episode be fan service because we help build it for what it was by watching.
He was, she wasn't. He was making all the sacrifices and she was making none. They where out of town/country 95% of the time. And wherever they went she'd have almost no time to actually spend with him. While he's traveling the world for the remote chance of spending the evening with her. That doesn't work. The breakup is entirely realistic tbh. Going back to Ted, that's what's really off about the ending.
So all along Barney knew there was never a surprise laser tag rehearsal dinner for him and was only pretending that he thought there was because the real surprise was for Robin. And I can't believe he finally started to like Canada after spending years making fun of the country and hating the fact that he himself is a quarter Canadian
Once there was this boy who wore a lot of suits and said that stuff was legendary. HEEEE gave lots of hiiigh fives and swore That he would never get marrieeed And really thought he meant it
Honestly the episode before last is just a perfect ending, and if you add the alternative ending the series wraps up nicely and you don't have to undermine everything you've built up for the entire last season. As far as I'm concerned last episode never happened.
It fit. One of the recurring themes with the two is that they don`t really discuss things that make them vulnerable. Their relationship (both times) was also built on deceit since it involved cheating (Barney to Ted and Robin to Kevin). Even the proposals involve showmanship and deceit.Barney`s love for Robin was there, no doubt but the reasons why it didn`t last were actually laid out. Heck, the whole last season have them fighting or ignoring important fights until minutes before the actual marriage. They took a shot and went at it and it was awesome for three years.
@@MisterWhat excuse me.. Are you intentionally forgetting the fact there was a time Ted cheated on Victoria with Robin? and he lost both Victoria and Robin at the same time?
Stuff like this make me wish that Robin and Barney’s marriage should’ve worked out in the show’s finale. Like seriously, the show should have kept them together.
Why are you guys fighting who robin should be with? in my opinion, both ted and barney does not deserve robin. Robin is the type of person who is never satisfied of what she had. she only realized she loved ted when ted and victoria where together, only realized that she wanted barney when he was soothing his relationship with nora and during that time when he said that he was done chasing robin, and then wanting ted again when ted finally found tracey. Now knowing that, think of what would happen in robin and ted's relationship in the future? she has the worst personality in himym tbh
I think the nicest way to criticize the ending is they did too good of a job with 3 things They did TOO good of a Job with Tracy's Character They did TOO good of a Job with Barney/Robin's wedding they did TOO good of a Job establishing why Ted and Robin arent right for each other and are better off as friends so when they torpedoed the 3 things they were really good at, to basically end on Ted/Robin (which was something they were not very good at writing) well the show was almost at war with itself in this way, the writers wanted to go in one direction, but their talents were much better suited to go in another
SPOILER!!!!!👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾 I love how Barney had all the power to just leave his kid but instead he stayed with the mom throughout her whole pregnancy (I’m guessing) and took care of his kid
I believe that was the third time something important happend to Barney in the presence of a security guard. Other two being the proposal and finding out Jerry was his father
Ok this is a nice scene, but how did they get into this room without Robing noticing they were in a giant cubicle? I mean, they would have to go through the ice skate ring to go into it. See 1:37
I disagree, it's potentially a great idea. Think of it as a maze where you know where the exit is. Should be a smooth ride if you take the path you should. Unfortunately the writers decided to bash through the walls instead. By making the Ted and Robin relationship look toxic. And Swarkles look meant to be.
Ad this clearly shows how Barney is meant to be single! And doesn't love Robin! And has no character arc! And they should get a divorce!... Right? No? Wait...
It's funny how everyone is arguing who is a better match for Robin, while no one talks about how she literally can't have either of them move on from her. Barney was fine with a girl, enters Robin with doubts about her feelings and makes him turn towards her again. Ted has finally move on from her, enters Robin wanting him to choose her and him running again toward her.
To all the people who thinks divorce defeats the purpose of a marriage, I simply cannot agree with an equal proposition- that buying a car is futile because there's a possibility that I might crash with it. That's part of living- taking chances, chances with what we love in life, finding happiness, and sharing it with them at this very moment, right now. I see people complaining about how bad the ending was for years and years. Grow up. You shit on one percent of the show being bad and use it to dismiss the brilliance and greatness of its 99 percent? I don't buy that BS with all due respect. HIMYM was there to make us smile, laugh and feel, when we were down, and I didn't pay a cent for them (for justifiable reasons lol) Atleast for me, and while not exempted from criticism I feel like it more than delivered. The devil's in the detail, which is the title. How 'I' met your mother, not how 'your mother' met me. This was the story of Ted, and personally, I justify the ending on that regard.
They ended things right at the end of the series cause the witters of the show wanted Ted to end up with Robyn from the very beginning. So they made it happen, regardless of what people wanted. They did an interview explaining it all.
What interview? Every interview I found has them explaining things in a very sad tone how they’re sorry people didn’t liked it and even one has the, saying how they would change the ending if they could
@@hegluj6796 the ending was pre-recorded since they knew the kids would age drastically. Still for some reason they decided not to scrap it and not the show the kids
The fact that the fake room is in the middle of the skate ring kills this scene for me. If the fake walls were attached to a real wall, with a door they came through, it would have been better for me. Like, she didn't notice she was crossing the ring and into a fake room?

Oh, fuck off. The ending could have been with Ted and Robin, it still wont make me to approve it. Killing Ted's perfect girl just to be with someone like Robin. Nah, never.
Doesn't really matter. Actors rarely go against the writers. Even got actors were pretty reticent about saying it was bad. That's just not professional.
Neil Patrick Harris and Cobie Smulders were the captains of the Swarkles ship. They rooted for Barney and Robin throughout the run. If you think they approve of the finale just because they don't want to go against the writers in interviews you need to grow up.
Ted did a dick move with that moonlight confession, Bro, few hours before she and your best friend getting married?? AND saying btw yeah you are the only one, but I go away bc of YOU, but it's okay, totally not a guilt trip, nooooo....to the end it is pretty clear Barney was the real glue to the group, not Ted. ALso, did any of you know one on and off couple that stay'd together till the and? I not a lot, but in the ned all off them married another person. What the hell was the problem with Ted finds the much better match and everybody live happy. The End.
This is why Robin and Barney can't work and WON'T work: Too much drama, lies, competition, and Barney is just unreliable in the long run. He's awesome as a friend. As a husband?? That's not Barney. He can fall deeply in love with Robin sure. Yet he won't compromise a thing with her when they were married--so their marriage ONLY lasted three years.
They were too alike is a pretty dumb argument. Lots of marriages with alike people work. Marshal and Lily are pretty alike. It was just a dumb reason invented by writers to shoehorn their ending

We watch himym to escape reality. The whole series is a comedy and reality can’t be a complete comedy. They set up a happy ending. They could FOR US the last episode be fan service because we help build it for what it was by watching.
Ted falling was the best moment
Barney calling robin "silly" made me awww :D
I´m so glad they were together till the end and they never had to divorce or anything like that... Right guys :(
Wrong.
Yep. The ending is bs.
Barney that is the sweetest thing you could have done for Robin. I wish you continued to be like that when you two were married, though.
Going back to Ted, that's what's really off about the ending.
just the best sitcom couple ever
This scene shows just how much Barney really did care for Robin and loved her more than any other girl
So all along Barney knew there was never a surprise laser tag rehearsal dinner for him and was only pretending that he thought there was because the real surprise was for Robin. And I can't believe he finally started to like Canada after spending years making fun of the country and hating the fact that he himself is a quarter Canadian
It’s not that he likes Canada, it’s that he really didn’t care as long as it made robin happy
Once there was this boy who wore a lot of suits and said that stuff was legendary.
HEEEE gave lots of hiiigh fives and swore
That he would never get marrieeed
And really thought he meant it
I cried watching this entire plan and surprise Barney did for Robin !! It's always Barney and Robin for me ♥️
Honestly the episode before last is just a perfect ending, and if you add the alternative ending the series wraps up nicely and you don't have to undermine everything you've built up for the entire last season. As far as I'm concerned last episode never happened.
that’s what i’ve been doing. straight after 9x22 go to the alternate ending and that’s the finale for me.
I still get chills every time I see this
WHY COULDNT THEY MAKE IT WORK?
because the writers insisted on using the ending they had thought of since the beginning and failed to see that it no longer fit
Like seriously, the show should have kept them together.
james being robin sparkles..😂😂😂
Bad ending.....
Barney's The One!
Just see The Robin and this!
RIP Alan Thicke
Ted “Kids, it takes more than 2 months to learn how to figure skate.”
Correction: It takes more than 2 months for Ted to learn how to figure skate.
This is a reminder that the creators fucked up the ending so bad. Six years had passed and it's still annoying that they fucked this up.
Watching this really makes me want to reject the ending.
Nope.
What ending?
is Ted figure-skating in hockey skates?
I still blame himym writers. Why would you make all of these beautiful scenes of swarkles??
I think the nicest way to criticize the ending is they did too good of a job with 3 things
They did TOO good of a Job with Tracy's Character
They did TOO good of a Job with Barney/Robin's wedding
they did TOO good of a Job establishing why Ted and Robin arent right for each other and are better off as friends
so when they torpedoed the 3 things they were really good at, to basically end on Ted/Robin (which was something they were not very good at writing) well the show was almost at war with itself in this way, the writers wanted to go in one direction, but their talents were much better suited to go in another
Such a great version of MMM MMM MMM MMM.
when I first saw this scene it blew my mind.
I love that he got her hockey skates, because of course Robin wouldn't do the ice skates. Love their relationship!!!!!
The series should have ended right there...
Nah end of the aisle should’ve been the end and they could’ve added the meeting of Ted and Tracy
I wish this do never broke up
It was nice of barney to bring canada to robin.
What a great couple. Good thing they didn't ruin everything in the last episode
I need the full song :(

It’s in Spotify.
Along with all the other amazing HIMYM songs.
Is anyone know the instrumental background
SPOILER!!!!!👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾
I love how Barney had all the power to just leave his kid but instead he stayed with the mom throughout her whole pregnancy (I’m guessing) and took care of his kid
I believe that was the third time something important happend to Barney in the presence of a security guard. Other two being the proposal and finding out Jerry was his father
Life is about moments. The ending was disappointing, but that just life
I love Neil Patrick Harris so much he's the best
Ok this is a nice scene, but how did they get into this room without Robing noticing they were in a giant cubicle? I mean, they would have to go through the ice skate ring to go into it. See 1:37
Stuff lime this is why writing the ending of a series 7 years before writing the ending of the series is a bad idea.
I disagree, it's potentially a great idea.
Think of it as a maze where you know where the exit is. Should be a smooth ride if you take the path you should.
Unfortunately the writers decided to bash through the walls instead. By making the Ted and Robin relationship look toxic. And Swarkles look meant to be.
what is this piano song on background
ua-cam.com/video/ISOCazd8Itw/v-deo.html&frags=pl%2Cwn
Robin was the worst! Daddy issues and then some. Ted and Barney treated her like gold!
Ad this clearly shows how Barney is meant to be single! And doesn't love Robin! And has no character arc! And they should get a divorce!... Right? No? Wait...
Sorry but this beats the blue French horn
that stupid thing is nothing infront this 😂
What is that song called. I can't remember 🙄
hilarious when ted fell XD
last episode never happened
some people will point to this to say it's lying and thus foreshadows the divorce I would say they literally address that in episode 22
The scene is so nice, shame marshal wasn't there.
1:55 Did I hear James singing "he really fucking meant it"?
He really thought he meant it
🎶all the things you did, well i hope i was your favorite crime🎶
Falling in love and being in love is different
the name of the song?
It's funny how everyone is arguing who is a better match for Robin, while no one talks about how she literally can't have either of them move on from her.
Barney was fine with a girl, enters Robin with doubts about her feelings and makes him turn towards her again.
Ted has finally move on from her, enters Robin wanting him to choose her and him running again toward her.
Most fans were routing for barney & robin. Not robin & ted. Writers ruined what could have been a perfect ending
I still want to know how robin didnt notice that wasnt a laser tag arena when she walked in
I still think they shouldn’t have broken them two up and that Tracy and ted would still be toghether
Cool
At this point, Ted should have focused on the piano lessons.
Sweet barney huhuhu
You want me to believe they only lasted 3 years? No. Sorry. I don’t buy it
will forever refuse to acknowledge the ending.. my himym ended here, plus ted did meet tracy.. that's it.
Just go from their wedding to the alternate ending. That's apparently what a lot of fans do
Looks like they forgot to edit "he really fucking meant it."
I like how in one episode after all this effort decide to divorce these two characters
2:10 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wait how did robin even get inside the room??
Maybe they constructed a passage
The fact that the fake room is in the middle of the skate ring kills this scene for me. If the fake walls were attached to a real wall, with a door they came through, it would have been better for me. Like, she didn't notice she was crossing the ring and into a fake room?
Robin Never loved Ted!!!!!
Robin loved Ted 100000x more than she did Barney.
@@Gervaj79 based on what exactly??
Gman no she didn’t
@@agnimitrasarkar6359 yes she did. The whole series is proof of it. 😎
Mani Thangadurai the whole series was Ted saying why Tracy was perfect for him. Ted and Tracey was perfect and Barney and Robin were perfect.

nobody ask you help patrice!!!!!!))))))
"Barney and Robin didn't belong together. She's meant for Ted'~ Neil Patrick Harris' own words.
NPH has given all you heartbroken Swarkles shippers his blessings and gratitude for supporting them but now even NPH is telling you to move on and just be happy for Mobatsky..
Swarkles had its moments. Now its REALLY time for Mobatsky ship to sail--at the perfect timing this time. #LastForever #Mobatsky #endgame
@@fermi1 that comment guy is lacking common sense..🤮
The End.
Omg poor Ted!!! D:
Zoe Fang why?
Ter honestly looks like a joke here lol
Barney makes me hate Ted so much more.
This episode does not make any sense. How did robin get in without seeing the ice and everyone. There is no way they could move an entire ice rink.
He spent a lot of money covering the ice.
Robin doesn't deserve Ted or Barney.
it took me 10 min to learn figure skating
This is why Robin and Barney can't work and WON'T work: Too much drama, lies, competition, and Barney is just unreliable in the long run. He's awesome as a friend. As a husband?? That's not Barney. He can fall deeply in love with Robin sure. Yet he won't compromise a thing with her when they were married--so their marriage ONLY lasted three years.
They were too alike is a pretty dumb argument. Lots of marriages with alike people work. Marshal and Lily are pretty alike. It was just a dumb reason invented by writers to shoehorn their ending
The writers ruined the story by divorcing them. Barney and Robin were perfect. Even the actors didn’t like the ending.
@@fermi1 they never complemented each other and in fact made each other worse versions of themselves. That's the issue.
@@agnimitrasarkar6359 actually NPH said in an interview with David Letterman that he quite liked it. 👍
@@Mani26031981 homie we know you're an incel-type like ted. it's all going to be okay. surely one day you'll realize the ending was a cop-out. we believe in you!
