I've been listening to Aesop Rock since I was 18 and I'm 39 now. He's one of the best. Check out the albums Labor Days, Float, Bazooka Tooth, Skelethon, The Impossible Kid, None Shall Pass, Spirit World Fieldguide, Integrated Tech Solutions, etc.

Thumbs up for Aesop reactions always. This whole album is front to back fire. His consistency, after more than 25 years in the hip-hop game, is scary.

You just opened pandora's box. Welcome to the greatest writer of our time. This is probably his most direct song as it's a story telling song but if you really want you brain to explode check out his other stuff.. His older stuff is very complex but a lot of his newer stuff is too. He's def in the conversation of best lyricist of all time. I'll give you two examples "Oxygen" and "Rings" those two will blow your mind and are on opposite sides of his writing styles. He literally even does nursery rhymes lol.

@@SaeedReacts. Absolutely. Just a heads up a lot of stuff takes multiple listens to get a broad grasp on it. So if it moves quick and you miss a lot, it's not just you. haha. I still find stuff from songs I've been listening to for 20 years.

My son is a fan of Aesop. Whenever he comes over to visit with us old parents, he will pull one up on my computer to have me look at it. He says he's a rapper that is very lyrical and writes lots of stuff. You should use lyric videos of Aesop or you can't keep up. :) I am not a fan of his music, but his words are interesting, sort of. His video of his cat Kirby is pretty funny. Playing with his cat Kirby using a puppet and kitten is adorable. :D

@@SaeedReacts. Aesop’s catalogue is long. Some of his tracks are straight forward stories like the one you just did and some are almost incomprehensible on the first listen. He writes like he’s drawing a comic book, sometimes very heavy on symbolism & metaphors. A great example of this would be “Supercell”

If you want a fun AES track, check out Long Legged Larry (think Dr. Seuss rap) or Kirby (about his cat). If you want a lyrical machine gun, try Gauze. If you want something clean (no curse words) with a huge variety of rhyme schemes, check out Jumping Coffin. Welcome to the AES rabbit hole

It's really disgusting that in the richest country in the world, we cannot look after those who need help the most, especially since Americans look down on '3rd world countries' that have much smaller homeless populations. Last year, in 2023, California alone had around 171,000 unsheltered people, BUT we had over 1.2 million homes sitting empty because some Ma & Pa landlords and more Investment Firms wouldn't generate profit. We need to move away from the recent trend in commodifying what should be a human right to shelter.
The majority of homeless in the US aren't like Aggressive Steven, most are just priced out of even the rental market, and sleep in their cars or couch surf while maintaining a 9-5 and without being 'criminals'. Only after long periods of living outdoors, and without access to necessities do some turn to drugs to escape the realities of their situation.

some turn to drugs? No... 95% of the homelessness is BC of *drugs* and mental illness, not the lack of charity from the government. See “Matt Walsh” “The truth behind homelessness”

@@GoodDocGonzo I like Upright Citizens Brigade and Matt Walsh the Catholic conservative. I see you'd rather smear someone than engage in the argument. The fact that you believe he is racist is not only gravely mistaken, but kinda pitiful. But that would make sense being that you have your head in the sand on homelessness. “Some turn to drugs” 😳🤪"they have a 9-5!" lol
edit* Sam Seder???? holy shit he has an actual audience. i thought the only reason he's able to continue to make content is bc of the obvious marching orders he takes. He obviously disingenuously approaches all the arguments he makes

Appreciated the Aes reaction and respect to you buddy for kickin your addiction. I know that’s a lifelong battle and I wish you the best with that.
Aes is goated amongst us hiphop heads who really appreciate lyricism.
Two songs that come to mind that are dense but easily digestible are “Rings” which he has an actual video for and “No City” which may only be a lyric video. There are many more as he’s been around since the mid-late 90’s.
    Thanks again for the video
