    • @PaintingsbyDusan
      @PaintingsbyDusan  5 років тому +3

      I edit my brushes so that won't help you, just buy a cheap size 1 synthetic brush labelled for use with acrylic, and start plucking the hairs out until you're satisfied.

    Excellent work Dusan! Did you use your limited pallet or your full range of paints?
    Let's play a game... I am going to guess it was limited. It seems like the entire painting was maybe a little more of a harmonious color mix than other beach paintings you have done.

    • @PaintingsbyDusan
      @PaintingsbyDusan  5 років тому +1

      I guess there wasn't that many colours, this one was more subtle colour shifts. Not sure that it comes across that way on video. They change depending on the light which is a pain in the backside.

    • @RobertHopkinsArt
      @RobertHopkinsArt 5 років тому +1

      LOL! Well, it worked nicely here. 6 colors or 15. Whatever it takes to get the job done.

    • @PaintingsbyDusan
      @PaintingsbyDusan  5 років тому +1

      That's been around for decades and has a pros and cons list (something I used when starting out as you transition from what you know when you are young - acrylic paint and learn to use oil. If you're using thin layers of oil in broken brush strokes incorporating the acrylic for depth, then it works nicely ( most likely gearing towards realism ). For me a minimalist under-painting using oil and turpentine would be more beneficial as the same colours and pigment is present as the ones I will be using on later layers, whilst achieving the same goal of creating a film of dried paint on the canvas ( it is easier to paint on a dried layer of smooth paint than on bare canvas ). All of it works and is fun to use, many types of techniques are possible which is why painting is so much fun. The direction I will most likely be taking is revising and adding to my painting like Monet did in his later life where he would rework and bring out paintings multiple times and build up the layers. I think this would be cool but hard to capture on video as the painting would appear finished already so I might have to film side on perhaps. Thanks for the links Robert, hope your paint brush has been busy.

      I tend to use small brushes, marked size 1 or there about, taklon synthetic brush - a few dollars nothing special. Then I make them slightly smaller by pulling out unwanted hair.
