Great work, Dusan. You continue to improve your use of the palette knives. I looked at your web page and saw the paintings you have on EBay. Paint more! You need to get your work out there. Australia seems to have some really good artists like yourself. Maybe the water? 😊 Whatever it is keep on painting.
Thanks George, it could be the water 😆🤗👍🌊 I appreciate the encouragement, thank you.

Hey Jonny, Thanks mate, yeah all good down here, we're in the middle of summer although pretty mild so far where I am. You?
@@PaintingsbyDusan it's cold and very wet here m8 but I'm gd thanks😁👍👍👍👍
I really love your work ither any way. You could put the colours up or show how you mix them please?
Thanks Michael. I always use the same 12 colours with my paintings. Most of the colours in this painting are similar or comparable to the ones I mixed here ua-cam.com/video/k4tKvuyECOQ/v-deo.html
Very very niiiiice😗💓👍👏👏👏👏🙋♀️

Thank you very much 💙
How do you chose what shape palette knife to use because I noticed you're always changing. Is there reasoning why?
Hi Liam, I only really shift between two, one large which I do most of the beginning work with, then as space gets tighter I shift to a smaller one to be able to make marks without interfering with more painted space than is needed. Then finally to a small brush that I use pretty much like a knife pushing paint around.
Hi dusan, why is your painting background is black always..any technical reason?
I like working on a darker base colour in the beginning - just to get started. The only real benefit is that you can leave the shadows until later on. If you were using thin layers of paint than you need white or a very light grey as a base.
Amazing painting! What mediums do you use? Have to wait to dry or you paint continuously? Hope to answer!
Thank you. No mediums, just the paint from the tube, them mixed into the colours I want. It's much easier to do it while it's wet ( usually across a whole day ), so you can move the paint around and paint into objects to define the shape. It's much harder as the paint dries, that works best for small touches.
Excelente pintura Dusan!!! Te consulto q utilizas para realizar las personas un pincel de q tipo o es una punta de espatula?
Gracias por el cumplido. Utilizo un pincel sintético delgado para pintar a la gente, es solo un pincel barato con un mango extraño.
Thanks for sharing, great work,do you paint the people with small palette knife or a small brush,it’s wonderful
Thanks, I tend to paint most of the people with a small brush usually with help from the knife, it depends on how big they are.
Hello Dusan. Your painting are realy great. I am trying pallete knife and oil. But result are not so good. need more practice :) But I have question: Is there special reason, why you paint on the black background? You are buying black canvas? or you paint it before? If you are painting backrond, are you using oil or acrylic?
Thanks Matus. It can be tricky to use the palette knife, it's all about pressure and variety, it will come to you after practise. I like black as a starting point or brown and grey. The main reason it's coloured is to seal the canvas surface with acrylic paint - twice - before I begin with oil paint.
@@PaintingsbyDusan thank you for your answer. I was thinking of trying acrylic, but I like on oil, that I have enough time for mixing on the surface, but it is more dificult wilth layers.I will try piant the canvas first. I will see if there is also some drying diference.
@@PaintingsbyDusan hello again. I tryed paint the canvas with black acrylic, and I can comform, that is much easy tonpaint on it with oil. I can also use blackness of backgroung in the pinal painting. But I noticed, that druing is much longer. How long are your painting needs to dry? I think this time is increased, because of that gesso is covered with acrylic, which will not absorb moisture(oils) from oilpaint?
Wow This is the most beautiful video I've ever seen! Your talent is obvious! Great technique and composition! Thank you for sharing with us! It is so interesting to watch, attracts and fascinates! Be sure to subscribe!💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Very kind of you to say, thank you very much 💙🤗👍
It was percect :) Do you use the primer before painting? :)
Thanks Napolyon, I paint over the pre-coated stretched canvas a further two times with acrylic paint, then I start with oil paint once that dries.
@@PaintingsbyDusan thank you my friend :)
Pls provide sir some imaginative drawings.pls sir.
Dusan what colors you use paint that littler persons ?
I tend to start with a brown colour ( burnt umber - raw umber, any ) for people then work on top.
@@PaintingsbyDusan thanx
