I'd say the guy in the first story was being threatened with death to force him to become an ice cream vendor. When they made him kneel, he said "OK I'll do it!", and they took him back to town and gave him his new ice cream cart.

I think they threatened him with deth to force him to become an ice cream vendor. When they put him on his knees, they put a gon to his head and asked him if he were going to do it or not. He agreed.

I've seen some weird shit, never out in civy street though... I mostly put it down to a combination of one or more of lack of sleep/beyond physical exhaustion, caffeine, nicotine, sensory deprivation (extreme dark for too many waking hours), maybe even DEET and mild sun stroke... The real mystery is how they could get us to believe this was all fun for four years lol...
