My old boss used to race one of the 1964 models here in Australia, Group NC 2lt class,I loved working on it very much and he gave me a four cylinder version to use as my daily driver.
@@wasabicars I also thought of building a custom 64 skyline with late model 4wd running gear(I've built a few street cars) and even got the blessing from the Victorian prince Car club who would help me source a body shell etc. Maybe maybe
When you focus in on the "Skyline GT" badges on the front fenders, that is the area of the car that was extended to make the 6-cylinder fit. Between the front wheels and the front doors, the wheelbase is quite a bit longer than on a normal 4-cyl. Skyline. Prince went to a lot of trouble to get these out the door back in the day.
I remember these cars from Autocrosses in the 1967-68 time-frame when I was in Japan. I had a modified Sunbeam Tiger at the time. The Prince 2000s had a 5 speed crash box as I remember and were a worthy opponent in Autocrosses.
I like many cars from around the world. Here is a small list of some of the cars I would love to have. Japanese: Datsun 210 (Sunny 1400GX and 150Y) (my mom had a 1980 210 brown with tan interior 5 door fastback until 1986 I was born in 1988), Datsun 280ZX (Nissan Fairlady Z 200Z), Nissan Skyline R34GT-R V-Spec II Nür or R34GT-R NISMO Z-tune, 1997 Toyota Supra with a 2JZ-GTE engine. American: My absolute dream car of all time is a 1965 Shelby GT350.
Yes! That's exactly right. What you'll find with my videos is that I shoot a vid then go home and learn about the car. Hopefully this type of thing will happen less and less as time goes on.
Thanks so much! Am very happy to hear that. I promise, I have many, many more cars videos to come. Be sure to tell your car-loving friends too! (^_^) A question. What kind of cars do you like?
Used to work in a building next door to a car yard back in the mid 60's , saw one of these and its short bonnet 4 cyl little brother, Engine seemed very Mercedes inspired, I think Nissan bought Prince and adopted their engines. It was streets ahead of the Holden [GM] Junk that we had at the time.
Thanks! That would be greatly appreciated. ;) How could I have missed that AA60 while browsing your videos! It looks awesome even though it is not the holy grail of the A60 Carina lineup. So obviously I'll be looking forward to the new Carina video then!
Yeah, it's a beauty. Btw, I see you like Carinas, so I'll post a video of one sometime soon. I posted a vid a while back but that was a *completely standard* one.
54 because the chassis code is S54B-2. 45, I'm not sure. For this one I'd say 40 would be understandable because the 40th year of the Showa period is 1965.
I had the standard 4 cyl model about 15yrs ago. It needed major restoration, but im kicking myself now that I let it go for wrecking. same body, but not the big beastie engine of the GT..could have built a replica...doh!!
they truly are an awesome piece of machinery. looks like granddads car, drives like nothing you seen. absolutely beautiful

Hi, Scott. That's awesome. Thanks for the info and insight. Fascinating

That's a real gem, not sure why I have not seen this video until now
Thanks for stopping by John.
Ahh, and now again I'm feeling like I want this car. So nice.
Very nice! Oh, and there's even a red 59 Cadillac keeping it company!
That's another really nice old car...
Very good looking Prince Skyline S54B-2!
Those front seats remind me of the skai seats of the BMW 2002 my mom drove in the early 80s

I love seeing your car finds

I used to drool over these when they were new back in '63,low wage earner, out of my league then.
I love it as much as that red 1959 Cadillac behind it.
I reckon that Skyline could have almost fit in the boot of the Cadillac ;-)
Thanks so much! Am very happy to hear that. I promise, I have many, many more cars videos to come. Be sure to tell your car-loving friends too! (^_^)

go for it. I couldn't imagine a nicer car. I can remember when a few used to get around town. awesome things.
Thanks, man. It came as a shock to me to see this Skyline. Everything about said Hakosuka, but it wasn't.

Sorry, long time, no reply. Some nice cars in that list.
Thanks! That would be greatly appreciated. ;)

That's it. And what a stunning example it is. I see it's for sale for ¥4,500,000. Unsure if that's a bargain. It just may well be.

holy moly grandpa PRINCE skyline!!
Seeing this thing surprised the life out of me.
Awesome!
I love cars. As for "copying" in the car-design world. That may in fact be the world's oldest profession.
Thanks :)
There is. And sometimes there I see an even older Cadillac, and it's pink!

If it makes you feel any better, the GT was in fact extended by a few inches between the firewall and front wheel arches. ;-)
yes indeed you are correct
It's damn nice!
Ok Thanks!
Very nice... :D
サーキットに旋風を起こした“羊の皮を被った狼”
Anyone know what size rims on these as standard? For model making purposes.
:(
thats $54,648.90 Aus, about a brand new up market car, Audi prehaps? Worth the money.
Why is the license plate .. 54? Mostly I see 45 54.
Really? I never played グランツーリスモ.
And now?? Actually, I've now taken your place. I'm the broke drooler.
You are welcome,enjoy life.
ahh too cool, were the skyline racing pedigree began.
ボディー延長跡がある個体だったら億単位になるでしょうね。
Damn, they parked that Cadillac a little too close for comfort
ドア優しく閉めようね。
Who cares about Audis anyway... ;)
