@@azura_ssb aether did a great job giving everyone, even slow characters, really cool movement options and combo trees. They just aren't quite as powerful of movement tech as the fastest characters.
i also agree with kragg being bowser but i also think he is like steve because of his up b and neutral b basically being able to save people from death when its guaranteed
If I were to compare krag to an ultimate it would be ROB. Solid boxing, great trapping game. But in general, all of the heavies in Rivals are going to be hard to compare to smash heavies because Rivals heavies are actually viable and well designed.
@@azura_ssb Nintendo didn't design the game to be competitive, at least not entirely. Rivals was designed with competition in mind so the balance is better.
ROB can also translate to Orcane (gyro positioning mindset can transfer over to Orcane puddle positioning nicely & both ROB & Orcane have infamous down tilts with a side aerial that gives them lateral movement).
In Ultimate I played Pichu and migrated over time to Duck Hunt, and I've found my dream character in Maypul. She has the Pichu speed combo game combined with the Duck Hunt zone control traps and cool setup combos, everything I ever wanted
My "main" in the 25 hours i played of Rivals 1, was Maypul. In ultimate i loved to play Captain Falcon & Inkling. Those 2 were my best characters and i would also dabble a bit into Villager (my smash 4 main). So when playing rivals 2 now, maypul just felt very familiar to, as you said, rush down combo characters. Just that the recovery game is very different in this game compared to smash
Damn, literally spot on, I play pt and main orcane. Also now I wish ivysaur had the belly hitbox since it would be an extremely disrespectful way of killing your opponent and showing that we aren’t carried by down air.
here are my thoughts (when there are two characters or more, it's a mix of all of them): zetterburn: melee fox clairen: melee marth, ultimate metaknight loxodont: melee ganon, ultimate dededee kragg: melee dk, ultimate rob (not sure about this one) maypul: ultimate greninja, melee falco ranno: ultimate greninja, ultimate sheik, melee sheik forsburn: ultimate rosalina, project m roy (unsure about this one aswell) wrastor: melee jigglypuff, ultimate lucina fleet: project m pit, melee peach orcane: project m ivysaur
basically none of the characters have direct smash counterparts, even if you say Lox is Dedede+Ganon (which is probably the closest comparison), they always have their own unique stuff.. I like Captain Falcon in Smash and see some of it in Wrastor, but I don't really like that character
@@polakuu Hmmm, Falcon might be the popular melee character with no real counterpart... I'd say Forsburn is closest to the feeling of falcon with the high mobility creating spacing fakeouts with huge damage aerials that require sweetspotting. But they obviously play very differently beyond that.
Well, I main Wolf and Fox in Smash, and I main Forsburn (and waiting for my secondary to be added later). I also find Loxodont very fun. Zetterburn does feel like Wolf and Fox combined with his own things added on top. I also find him fun, and cool (I like lions lol).
Strangely enough, I think Ranno has a strikingly similar feel with the lingering hitboxes/multi hits, ground speed, low air mobility, tall jump, darts, and disjointed strong attacks. Like shiek mixed with pit Most people say Fleet, and I think that's sorta true for less obvious reasons than it would seem I main pit and somehow I ended up with orcane tho
Loxodont is Ganon and Dedede, he even has his own gordo
thats true, but he feels much faster somehow
@@azura_ssbthat’s probably just because rivals 2 is so much more fast paced than ultimate
@@epicjrules24 thats right!
Cool, Thank you kind fellow

Cragg definitely reminds me slightly of Bowser. Very spot on comparisons. Currently learning Clairen who is very much reminiscent of Marth/Roy.
i also agree with kragg being bowser but i also think he is like steve because of his up b and neutral b basically being able to save people from death when its guaranteed

real, it feels like the heavies in ultimate are not really designed to be top tier

I play Bowser and ROB in smash, and i play Kragg there
I agree for the comparison with ROB (but waiting Etalus for Bowser like ... :/)
ROB can also translate to Orcane (gyro positioning mindset can transfer over to Orcane puddle positioning nicely & both ROB & Orcane have infamous down tilts with a side aerial that gives them lateral movement).
Kragg can throw the rock at you and recatch it
ROB can throw his BEYBLADE and recatch it
Fleet is young link plus peach, and I am here for it
yea, peach is a good comparison

It was one of my favorite things about Project M ivysaur hahah
@ Wait project m ivysaur has that?!
@ yeah man!
here are my thoughts (when there are two characters or more, it's a mix of all of them):
zetterburn: melee fox
clairen: melee marth, ultimate metaknight
loxodont: melee ganon, ultimate dededee
kragg: melee dk, ultimate rob (not sure about this one)
maypul: ultimate greninja, melee falco
ranno: ultimate greninja, ultimate sheik, melee sheik
forsburn: ultimate rosalina, project m roy (unsure about this one aswell)
wrastor: melee jigglypuff, ultimate lucina
fleet: project m pit, melee peach
orcane: project m ivysaur
Ivysaur to orcane main pipeline is real with me
His movement reminds me a lot of Mario weirdly enough
I love that wording lol
I like C Falcon but nobody is like him in Rivals 2. Rip

"This game is a real rival"
Was this line around 0:12 or an intentional pun on Rivals 2, or was it an accident?
it was by accident hahah

Every character is so fun play wrastor more! I rlly enjoy about rivals 2 how much thought they put into well synergized kits, across the board🙂
Me a ken player in Smash waiting for olympia to come back.T_T.
Funny, we have the same 3 favorite characters 😆
thats cool!
What would you say is a good one if i mained pit in smash bros
Probably Fleet. Lots of similar moves as far as aerials and tilts, but arrows are a stronger focus.
Strangely enough, I think Ranno has a strikingly similar feel with the lingering hitboxes/multi hits, ground speed, low air mobility, tall jump, darts, and disjointed strong attacks. Like shiek mixed with pit
Most people say Fleet, and I think that's sorta true for less obvious reasons than it would seem
I main pit and somehow I ended up with orcane tho
Says that Clairen doesn't feel exactly like Marth.
"Tell me you don't play Melee Marth without telling me you don't play Melee Marth"
I don't play melee
algo
I ended up maining Captain Falcon in Ultimate. I'm assuming Ranno is probably the closest in Rivals 2?
its hard to say, so ranno is similar to him but not as hard hitting and not as straight forward as falcon imo
I'd say wrastor seems more similar if you don't mind the air gimmick
Goat
I want a sword (or weapon) character similar to cloud!
yea, i like cloud too
I feel like if you put clairen and lox in a blender, you'd get something like cloud lol
Loxodont is typically ganondorf
Clairen up special is more like shulk

Honestly, I personally think that these kinds of videos are too early considering they’re gonna add the ENTIRE roa 1 cast over time.
Maypul is a woman
oh my bad😅 thx for letting me know tho!
