    I do like a powder foundation if I’m being quick with my face base or if I want a little extra coverage than my foundation is giving. The two I’ve used most are the ELF camo powder foundation and the L’Oréal infallible powder foundation. I really do like them both 👍 I sometimes use them very lightly to set my base and add a little more coverage. I have seen others try and like the essence powder foundation and really like it so for the price I’m definitely going to give it a try! Thank you for covering it. You always give a lot of detail and I value your opinion 😊 and Norm with the “hey ladeees” is toooo cute! Looks like he loves car rides! Give him a treat for me ❤️ take care and keep on shining! 💕🌟💫

      Hi Lady! 🤗 Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on your favorite powder foundations with me! I'm hoping if you try this one, you'll like it as much as the L'OREAL and elf! (It's such a fantastic price too... which I love for powder foundations, because I generally go through them so quickly.) Normie sends you all his puggy love! ❤️

    Always such a pleasure to see your new videos--and bonus, Handsome Norm! I'd drive him anyplace he needed to go, btw. ;) My dry skin doesn't really like powder foundations of any kind, however one of the very few drugstore powders that doesn't make me look like the Cryptkeeper is the Cover Girl Simply Ageless wrinkle-blurring pressed powder. It's definitely worth a look, even for Cryp...er... gals like me. Thanks for the review and good info!

    New sub! Loved your review ❤️ My favorite that I use everyday is Kokie pressed powder foundation. It looks great on my 40's dry skin, and adds the perfect additional coverage over concealer (I set concealed imperfections with a smaller brush-the powder covers and lasts all day).

    Have you tried soaking your sponge first? I did an entire tutorial on how to use the Maybelline powder foundation but with a soaked sponge first. It makes a HUGE difference! Before I invented this hack, the powder looked just that - like powder.
    Now, it looks super natural and flawless without the issues associated with powder foundations. Certainly please try it! It has transformed my powder foundation routine. X

    Norm!!! 😍 I haven't tried any drugstore powder foundations, but I saw a MAC video where two makeup artists suggested spraying a setting spray before applying your powder foundation and again afterwards. It does help the foundation look less dry and powdery. One of the MUAs said his mother, who I think was in her 70s, even wore the Studio Fix. I hadn't used it in years, fearing I'd look like Boris Karl off as the mummy, but this spray method brought me back to powder foundations. Studio Fix really does cover the best.

    • @foundationlady
      @foundationlady  2 роки тому +1

      Boris Karl! 😂😂😂 You are hilarious! And thank you for the suggestion on the pre-spray! I almost always spray after, but I don't think I've ever tried powder foundation by pre-spraying my face, so thank you so much!! 😘 Norm sends his love! ❤️🤗

    So glad i found your channel! I was only interested in a review for this one product alone. LOVE your format and how you explain and review. I use minimal makeup usually, a little concealer and powder all over SO i like powder foundations and have tried many. I have to say although not drugstore the Laura Gellar powder is the best! It literally blurs the skin, have you tried it? 2nd to that one is the makeup forever powder foundation.

    • @foundationlady
      @foundationlady  2 роки тому +2

      yes! ❤️ I completely empathize with how tough it can be to find a powder foundation for a drier skin type! ❤️ I tend to find that the mineral based ones work better for my dry skin... especially the ZUZU Luxe one! (I have a demo on that one of you're interested? The title of it is: "Foundation You Should Know About...") Anyway, After putting on a powder based foundation, I like to spritz on a very light layer of sunscreen (made specifically for the face.) @@foundationlady My husband likes it over the Coty Airspun, which was my go-to for years. IMO, it’s a million times better than the L’Oréal True Match pressed, and I really disliked the Maybelline Fit Me loose. I’ve finished a few compacts of the Matte and Poreless pressed (also tried the Fit Me Set and Smooth pressed, but didn’t like it). I also prefer the finish over the Rimmel Stay Matte, though I do use a darker shade of that as a bronztour because it’s matte. 👍

      Hi JC! 😊 great question, as Belinda mentioned, I definitely think you could use this one to set your foundation. My personal favorites are the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural, and the ZUZU Luxe Dual Powder Foundation. Both of them are mineral based, and I love using mineral based powders as they usually have a very slight sheen to them that looks a little more skin-like on my normal-to-dryish-skin. (Both of the powders are linked in the description box under the video. ❤️) When using a powder foundation to set my makeup I like to: Apply my foundation...take a TINY stiff brush (my favorite: The Real Techniques 332 "Smudge Brush") and tap powder on my problem spots first (blemishes, redness, etc) that way I can use a greater amount of powder for the areas that need it... and then go over the rest of my face by barely tapping on just the lightest bit of powder, with a really large, soft, fluffy brush. Then I get the best of both worlds... my problem spots are covered, but my foundation doesn't look overly cakey! Hope this helps! ❤️ 🤗

      I have combo skin too and also use powder to set. I don’t have a powder foundation option, but, wet n wild photofocus loose setting powder is beautiful.
