While Villanova is not an elite women’s basketball program, but they had Maddie Siegrist (who beat out Caitlin for the scoring title 2 seasons ago), who has turned into a pretty good pro player. This past season, Lucy was #3 in the country. Maybe Villanova knows how to develop good scorers. I think Lucy will have a very good season and if she can feed Hannah, so much the better.
Jan Jensen has been around Lisa for thirty years as an assistany ! You know she has learned her ways and is respected by the players . She knows she needs a talented big in the middle . She will address the needs of the team..
You g into next season their will be some comparisons of Lucy with Clark for sure. I see some if those step back shots Clark has. But Lucy has that midrange that Clark doesn't and Lucy can hit those all day at a high percentage. I hoo3 the coaches realize and encourage her to take more if those. If they do, I think this Iowa team could surprise some folks next year. I think heiden is good enough to possibly jump or at least be a good one 2 punch off the b3nch with not much let off with a improved Addison ogrady. Having a natural center will help Hannah have a bust out year as well. I think teagan from Wisconsin will have a nice impact similar to what Warnock was able to give us in the past. Only question will be who will come in for Lucy at backup pg. I don't expect to see guyton coming in after a serious knee injury and having a immediate impact. I see slow progress and possible red shirt for her. Inte4sting to see from now till start if the season if coach Jensen might still be looking at a grad transfer or portal.
Caitlin doesn't have midrange...and "Lucy has that midrange [...] and Lucy can hit those all day at a high percentage"? Where did you get that? Lucy 2P% (part are layups, part are midrange shots): from .411 [season 2021-22] to a max of .489 [season 2023-24] Caitlin 2P% (part are layups, part are midrange shots): from .540 [season 2020-21] to a max of.571 [season 2023-24] Mid-range wise, Lucy Olsen (a GOOD player) is nowhere near Caitlin Clark. In order for Lucy to leave a good mark she has to: - increase her assists per game [3.8 apg is a bit low for a guard] - increase her 3 ptrs from .318 to .35 (it is very hard to reach 0.37 - 0.40 levels of Caitlin and probably impossible to get near to Paige Bueckers .353 to .464) Lucy is fast, is technically evolved and she'll do well.
Lucy has a middy, floater, layup package, AND a post game. My popcorn is ready.

Lisa B. had a picture in her folder because she was always prepared.
But can Lucy full court press, hopefully Jan has been watching old school Dr. Tom games
Didn't seem like Kachine was prepared for the question?
Doesn't she play the 1 spot though?
