Why this works: You are basically making baking soda/superglue plastic reinforced with springy gluten rebar. Ramen noodles are made with kansui water, an ingredient you can buy in a lot of Asian markets. Kansui is water mixed with potassium and sodium bicarbonate, and you use it to regulate the acid/base ratio in noodles. It will also give the noodles that 300-year-old parchment look and springy texture. The stuff I use when I make ramen is baked (concentrated) sodium bicarbonate and water. There's recipes all over the place. Please be careful with the concentrated sodium bicarbonate. They call kansui "lye water" for a reason. Rinse with water, and wipe down with a cloth covered in vinegar if you get some on your skin. Do not let children or dogs roll in it.
Two more quick thoughts: 1) Absolutely do not eat this stuff. As I said above, it is basically plastic. Plastic made with cyanoacrylate glue, where cyano- means cyanide. 2) If you applied a latex sealant to this stuff before you started painting it, this stuff could actually stick around for years. I see no reason you couldn't enjoy your cyanide-flavored Ramen terrain for a decade.
@@MKempICI While it is true that cyano means cyanide. It doesn't mean that cyanide will be liberated if you eat it. Cyanoacrylate is used as a medical glue. Cyanocobalamin is Vitamin B12. It has a cyanide moiety in it, but is of course harmless as a water soluble vitamin
When I started watching this I thought it was the silliest video ever, another click-baity attempt at our terrain-craving expense to show us something that would have been a waste of time if anyone but a youtube content creator attempted it. But then you kept going, with the flavoring as texture paint, and then the wash, and finally, the poster. That's when I realized I just watched a piece of art. And I have no regrets.
Thanks! UA-cam warps creators towards click bait things with its fickle algorithms but I will always try to deliver on anything enticing in my titles and respect my audiences time and clicks.

This is hilarious, but also resulting in a surprisingly effective and convincing result. I also very much appreciate the mentality of using the whole Buffalo and using the flavor packets as weathering powder as well as the poster taken from the packaging. This video is what I needed today on multiple levels.
Using the whole buffalo. Indeed haha. How come its noble to use the whole buffalo but everyone gets grossed out by the parts in hotdogs? Double standard amirite?
Totally insane, lol. I love the fact you used the SEASONING for some of the grit, LOL! And the poster from the pack was gold. So much fun in this video. And insanity. Let's not forget the insanity. :D
You make it look so damn easy to add the weathering "washes". I dont know why but mine always look so out of scale. I admire your talent with industrial, post apoc, futuristc. Just spot on!! Thanks for taking the time to make content!!! Inspirational, entertaining and enjoyable!!
I saw someone airbrush and paint a "cyberpunk 2077" pc build and I thought of your channel and then I remembered all of the pc builds floating around the internet in the early 2000's before all this RGB lighting. I wonder what you could do with a junked desktop. Thanks for the delicious content 🍜.
Love the experimentation with new materials, the flavor wash is genius!. I think this might work well as a texture on a foam building with more advanced designs the foam board can give you to start. Thank you for the inspiration sir, great video!
MAN, how did you miss it? use some sculptors mesh in between layers of ramen dust in your mold to get the reiforced concrete look with steel bars poking out. BTw ramen terrain is mindblowing, love these builds, kinda ghetto
Hey, fun fact. You can bake un-boiled ramen with a bit of butter and say some sesame seeds to make a crunchy salad topping. 375ish for 15-20 minutes stirring every 5minutes untill golden brown.
I barely do terrains (cool ones) and dioramas, or i even end them (many things un painted). You make a fakin ruin using ramen and looks like real concrete. I feel respect and admiration and a bit of hate all at the same time. I love it !
"Eric, that was a fun game. But why do my space marines smell like chicken noodles?" The end texture is actually surprisingly good for rough concrete. Pretty neat.
That's a quite good showcase of how proficient application of glue and paints can allow to use just about any material. And the resulting ramen MDF is only marginally less edible than the original material.

"Ramen flavored."
@@EricsHobbyWorkshop I'm slightly dissapointed that you used wash instead of soy soauce.
Not only was that a big brain move, but it gave me a better idea how to apply weathering powders. Nice!
And when you're starving because you spent all your food money on miniatures, you can eat the terrain. :D
I'm dying of laughter as you are using the flavor packs as paint. This is your chance to cross over into a cooking channel.
Eric's Cooking Workshop channel confirmed
I'm really curious whether it smells like the flavor pack now.

If you find the kind with dried veggie packets, you don't have to buy expensive flocking materials anymore.
Why are you people even considering this ? WHY DO I WANT TO TRY NOW ???
Wax Paper for CA glue!
Parchment is porous (which is how wet palettes work) so the glue can still grab hold.
Wax cannot be penetratred.
This is flipping hilarious, man. I love it.
I think this is the most original and creative way to combine ramen noodles and terrain building...BIG THUMBS UP!
Loved that, i think the topper was the little homage to the Ramen dude.
