I heard good things about these hatchets as well. I guess I received one of the bad ones like some others buyers experience. I can give it a better cutting convex edge, it's just going to take me a while to get it done.

I bought a couple of gouge chisels many moons ago from beaver craft, they weren't to bad, I wouldn't be happy receiving the first hatchet you shown.
