Just wonderful. Dean, you're like the uncle I wished I had in the tool shop. Patiently explaining and showing. Keep up the work, theres always something new to see and learn with your videos.
It's very interesting to see and hear how you assess the cost of a repair in relation to the customer benefit for that tool. What you deliver is always a cost effective solution for each case - I suspect that is a rare quality in Toll servicing today.
fantastic videos mate and you are a machine in your knowledge for all the types of tools from all the different manufacturers literally blows my mind you have an amazing technical brain ❤ top man cant stop watching your stuff 💪👍
90% of those types of Makita saws when there is no light after engaging the switch it's that controler. As for the broken bits, a bit of WD40 in the anvil and a couple of good hits with the head on my workbench works most of the time to get it moving to a point where some dentist tools can push it all the way out. Never tried the compressed air, will give it a go next time I get broken bit in one of those DTDs Thanks for the video again, always nice to learn some Dewalt tricks!
That Milwaukee, I’ve found the Hall effect sensors can get gunked up with metal debris over time and just need a clean as the controller has a hard time determining position of the motor. I’ve cleaned a few and they kick back to life same issue.
Hi Dean I was going. To tell you how much I have learn. About drills@ and saws I guest you are in London I live in Tallahassee Fl. My name is Fred from
Just came across your channel and alls I can say is wow, your work is amazing not only to watch, but get hints and advice along the way, sub’d and liked, will be watching more of your content, keep up the great work 🤙🏼🇦🇺 Question: What are the long bits you use called or who sells them ? Joe from Australia 🤙🏼🇦🇺
Great long video! I love these marathons, especially when they feature tools i've not even handled before! Dean do you see a time where the battery nailers can get close to the gas nailers in terms of weight - not size, as I know that's too difficult due to the components needed, but just weight. Is it within the realms of 1 or more generation of tools from the Hikokis, Milwaukees, Dewalts (not flywheel) and of course Makita;s Battery nailer is due out Q4 of this year. I think they waited for Sencos patents to expire to not have to pay royalties - is that accurate? Thanks for the effort you take to explain your process and findings, a lot of other tool repair/restoration channels stay completely silent for the videos. Thumbs up.

Other is that Milwaukee USA do not allow people to repair the tools, that included every repair shop that isnt working with them. Adding to that, opening the tool void the warranty too. That was stated to a guy who owned a repair shop, asked Milwaukee for blueprints to fix a broken item and they told him no and that opening the tool will void the warranty. For full video watch dude called "Rhine-labs" .
With regassing Milwaukee guns have you ever thought of using a diving air bottle and the adaptor for filling PCP airguns or the dedicated PCP compressor. Diving air is moisture free and a charged bottle should last a good few refills.
I really wish Makita would make one of those little metal cutting saws with the blade on the left. I use my wood saw all the time to cut metal and it works ok but the blade spins too fast and the chips go everywhere.
The original color here in the states was brown, my dad (45 yrs in construction) had a framing nailer that was a brick that gun probably weighed in at 15 lbs..
@@dougburton1999 that's kind - the continuity sound was very solid. I don't have the same meter, though - still 'solid'. Given the LED was not on either, it's very unlikely it was just the power wire leading to the brush holders, anyways.
The air you put in will have some water vapor in it yes which technically could cause corrosion would be my only argument but the amount your putting in I see a very slim chance of doing damage
Wouldn't it be an option to use 3rd party spares on old tools? E.g. those 20$ Hitachi brushes are infuriating! They costs CENTS to make, and are also available for under 1$.
Hey Mr. Dean, I think you should go for it and fix that drill. It’s really old but yet it’s in good shape and the guy probably had it for a long time. I know you could make him a deal and fix it. Why don’t you think it over and Decide differently I hope my name is Fred H I am from Tallahassee Florida and I watch every tape you put out I like I like your work and I like you thank you very much
They are not quality at all. They are actually one of the lowest quality brands on the market. Repair men simply call them red ryobi, because that's all they basically are. Good for mechanics, but that's it.
I feel like I have a better handle on my power tools because dean explaining how they work from the ground up is the means to understanding
and they are much more simple then I thought, which thinking about it is obvious 😂

The jigsaw fix was quite impressive looked a complicated strip and rebuild......👍🏴

Nice job Dean as always. 😊Greetings from Texas
Never thought I'd see an archeological dig on this channel
I'm genuinely amazed by the amount of sawdust in that saw, didn't expect that.
Thanks!
No problem!
Great video 😊

its education , watching this stuff is better than watching a film..............
Would you look at all the compacted sawdust in that jigsaw, I'd never thought that could happen.
common for this model of makita
Brilliant love your long video's keep up the fantastic work 👏 👍

nitrogen is used as its not effected by outside temps and keeps a constant pressure wotever air temp is
Brillian👍👍
Great video 📹 👍 thanks again for your help with this video all the way from the Philippines 🇵🇭 still living the dream 😊❤

I actually enjoy watching the washing up process 😂 Great video as always, Dean. What brand of circlip pliers was the you were using?
I tried to do the same fix to my Makita impact last week. The retainer clip pinged off into the distance!
I think an ultrasonic cleaner would free you of some of the cleaning drudgery.

Sounds like someone at Milwaukee needs to read the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.
Pin this dean
the tools you fix are they given back to the owner or sold on the market

I wonder what that makita jigsaw sounded like before it completely locked up lol
The original color here in the states was brown, my dad (45 yrs in construction) had a framing nailer that was a brick that gun probably weighed in at 15 lbs..
That Makita jig saw was packed full of sawdust.
Bro disassembles stuff like Forrest Gump in the rifle assembly scene.
From the State's that's not a wee bit of sawdust, thats ship load!
I was trying to figure out the vat rate over there… north of 20%?
Hey Dean. The Makita saw looked like the wires were pinched about 4” from the brush holder????
he tested the brush holders for continuity
I guess you never delt with pinch wires before. When thier pinched and you move them they connect and disconnect. Try it sometime before commenting….
@@dougburton1999 that's kind - the continuity sound was very solid. I don't have the same meter, though - still 'solid'. Given the LED was not on either, it's very unlikely it was just the power wire leading to the brush holders, anyways.
Doesn't Guinness use compressed nitrogen? Your local might have bottles of the stuff. Just a thought.
Man the way you strip things down gives me anxiety 😂 screws all over the place
The air you put in will have some water vapor in it yes which technically could cause corrosion would be my only argument but the amount your putting in I see a very slim chance of doing damage
New nail board needed 😂
I want to see a teardown video about the Bosch cordless nail gun.
Wouldn't it have been easier to drill into the center of the sheared bit and to put a screw in it so you can pull it out?
1ч 46 минут счастья😇😇😇
1/8 to 1/4 npt
Milwaukeee😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
wouldnt it be feasable for those "cheap n cheerful" machines to just use cheap after market brushes and bearings?
Your local air con use nitrogen to test ac
😂 use Argon if you want big molecules
now wheres that power screw driver thats switch is intermitent
Wouldn't it be an option to use 3rd party spares on old tools? E.g. those 20$ Hitachi brushes are infuriating! They costs CENTS to make, and are also available for under 1$.

i'm starting to realize that miliwake as much as they can be quality aren't worth it if you want a tool you can repair yourself
They are not quality at all. They are actually one of the lowest quality brands on the market.
Repair men simply call them red ryobi, because that's all they basically are.
Good for mechanics, but that's it.

Is everything in Europe is overpriced? Those parts in my poor devalued money country cost way less.
