Great video, & it’s nice to see normal children having fun in the sun & sand without all the expensive toys. Your doing a good job with them. Stay safe & happy.
Normal children 🤣 not sure about that 😂. No seriously they are great kids and I love hanging out with them and adventuring. Cheers for the positive support 😀
Have a video dropping this week on the gear we used at Moreton while offgrid, did the editing couple of weeks ago and wasn't going to release it, but I thought it might be helpful. Then off on a little adventure with a different this weekend, so stay tuned for that 😉
Camping beats any resort anytime. Always love watching your vids, no fancy graphics and home style family holiday video. I prefer these style of videos. I'm also learning something new here. I think I can adopt something similar to your ensuite setup on our camper. 👍🏽 Nice to see your kids enjoy their camping trip too and just having fun. Makes any trip enjoyable when everyone is enjoying. Moreton Island seems like a nice spot to visit and doesn't look too crowded too. By the way, are there any resort in the island? 😉
Great vid as per usual. Kids are having a great life! I keep coming back to your videos because I get a lot of inspiration from your mint GQ. I have a 89 V6 Pajero which I have owned for 20 years and am debating whether or not to take it around the country in 3 years time towing a 75 Viscount. I convince myself its the right decision when I watch your videos!
Yeah Mate as long as it's reliable and you know how to fix the little things, go for it. And with the money you save on buying a newer vehicle, if the old pajero has a little issue you'll still be thousands in front. I'm sure our old patrol will outlast a lot of newer vehicles, and everything can be rebuilt on it, not just replaced. 👍
Thanks for all your efforts mate - we really appreciate how hard it can be to have a holiday and bring all those special moments to your audience. We've followed you guys for ages and love what you do. Always looking forward to sharing in your next adventure 🙂
Thanks mate, I do enjoy filming and showing our adventures but was a real challenge that week, and I think I'm a little burnt out from 2022. Cheers for the always positive support and see you on the next adventure 😃
Merry Christmas and happy new year guys. Great drone shots. Love Morton too. We’ve stayed at Tangalooma before and camped on the island there twice. Camping beat the resort by miles. Expensive to get there though. Don’t even like motels but sometimes it’s easier. I hope Larissa improves quickly.
Drove past your camp on Moreton that week (staying in a shack at Bulwer). Once the wind died down that period was epic. That side is so good with kids and a welcome break from the norm. Much better than a crowded resort
You probably already know this but retrieval using reverse can result in damage to your drivetrain (I'm told). Reverse gear isn't made as strong as the forward gears and can break with relatively little strain. Anyway, that's the word on the tracks. Haven't tried it myself. Happy new year you lot! Looking forward to seeing more adventures!
Very true, but I it was either reverse or use the tow ball which is just dangerous, so easy reverse pull was OK. The Gq patrol has some big diffs and drive train too, never broken anything yet, but it's probably only a matter of time 🤣
Happy New Year guys. Definitely camping over resorts any day. Lovely spot Moreton Island isn't it. Great to see you all having fun. Hopefully Larissa will be able to join you next time.
You don't have to convince me that camping is better than a resort, LOL 😎 I've only ever heard good things about Moreton Island and your video just confirms that. Definitely on my 'To Visit' list. 🙂 Happy new year to you all and I send my best to Larissa. I hope her ankle heals soon. ❤
Thanks Mate, if I had to pick 1 of the sand islands in south east Queensland, it would definitely be Moreton. Larissa is on the mend now but it's crazy how long it's taken. Hope you had a great Christmas too 😄
They are going to love/hate seeing these videos in another ten years! ;-) Great job, Dad. It's the best time of their life and yours. Side question: what is your side awning with the bows? It looks like what I need on my camper trailer. Cheers!
Great video. Nice for Dad and kids to have some quality time together. What brand is your canoe ? Your underwater footage showing the array of sealife was awesome. I feel for Larissa as I am also recuperating from a pretty bad foot injury
Larissa is doing OK now, but it's taken a long time, and it's just not the same without having her with us. The kayak is a inflatable one from anaconda. They don't sell this particular one any more but there are similar ones. Cost only $250 and had it for over 4 years now.
Thanks for the support, I think Moreton is a great holiday island and Fraser is a adventure island. But how lucky are we that we can choose from 3 diifferent sand islands 😃
Yeah I think these new masks are so much better than the traditional style. Didn't leak, you can actually talk under water ant the top of the snorkel closes off when you dive down and stops water entering mask. I would definitely buy it again
All sand on the island, but it's usually pretty easy going. The driving is a lot easier then Fraser Island too, so it's a great place to explore if a little inexperienced.
Another fantastic episode, you had your work cut out for you without Lara. Hope Lara is on the mend 👍. Are the campsites numbered? Which site did you choose? It's a cracker of a site.
Definitely, and just to be able sit on the beach with everything at your fingertips is fantastic. I get a little stir crazy looking at 4 walls. Thanks for the support 👍
Did not know that, very interesting. I do wonder what it was like back then when I see these old structures around the country. Cheers for the support 👍
i think a paid beach trip would be definitely worth it ! altho I hate booking systems , exspecially online ones. Id rather just rock up n pay as I go . congrats on your trip! Go the Patrol! 🌅🌊🏞️🛻😎🤙📹
Hardest thing about Moreton Island is booking the ferry, we had to book 4 months in advance to stay during the Christmas break, but once on the island there are heaps of sites and they don't over book like other places. Cheers Brent 👍
Exactly what I was thinking regarding the kids
Love you guys! Resorts suck what you do is real and so much more experiences to be had camping the way you do. It's a no brainer!!!
Yeah spot on. Something about being in the elements that makes you appreciate life. Thanks for the support 👍
Your children will never forget the adventures you've taken them on. Great parents = great children. Well done Mom and Dad.
Thanks so much for the kind words, they are incredible kids and I'm so proud of them. Cheers for the support 😀
Thanks for sharing your adventure guys, we enjoy your journey. Get better soon Larrisa . Cheers from two West Aussies in Saudi Arabia
Thanks guys, hopefully soon she'll be back to her normal self, but it's taken a long time. Hope you had a great Christmas and new years 🥳
Wishing you speedy recovery Larissa 🙏
Cheers mate 👍
Good video guys. People do love the camp cube.
I was really lucky to meet Adam in person. What a real gentleman. 👌👌
Tip for reclining chair use a pool noodle on bottom foot rail for more comfort.
Yes that's exactly what it needs, especially for my long legs. Great tip 👍
Really lovely video. Enjoying all of yours. Working my way through them.
Glad you like them! Thanks so much for the support and happy to answer any questions you have 😃
That is an awesome campsite. Probably the best I've seen so far.
Yeah it's a special place. I think it's in our top 5. Thanks for the support 👍
When are you guys going to put another vid on You Tube? I certainly enjoy watching them.

You can get side table from snowys outdoor, chair tab.
What a great campsite and wonderful view. Definitely this kind of campsite than a resort.
Thanks for the support, it was such a amazing place, loved every minute of it. 👍

Thanks Kev, it sure is a beautiful island, and your right it's not cheap compared to other places, but it keeps the rift raft away 😁
Drove past your camp on Moreton that week (staying in a shack at Bulwer). Once the wind died down that period was epic. That side is so good with kids and a welcome break from the norm. Much better than a crowded resort
Thanks mate, it was a fantastic week and all of our gear worked well. I'd love to get the extended family to stay in those shacks, would be great 😁
Great video! We love Moreton Island too! As a matter of fact, we camp in the exact same spot as you!
No way! It's such a beautiful site, and we actually camped in this site Easter 3 years!
You probably already know this but retrieval using reverse can result in damage to your drivetrain (I'm told).

This is true. It is to do with the way the gears are cut(teeth).
Very true, but I it was either reverse or use the tow ball which is just dangerous, so easy reverse pull was OK.
The Gq patrol has some big diffs and drive train too, never broken anything yet, but it's probably only a matter of time 🤣
Yes but he didn't go hell for leather. Just easy and let the strap do its job. Parked not bogged..
Happy New Year guys. Definitely camping over resorts any day. Lovely spot Moreton Island isn't it. Great to see you all having fun. Hopefully Larissa will be able to join you next time.
It's a fantastic place, Larissa is doing better now with new exercises and a specialist. She definitely does a lot for us
You don't have to convince me that camping is better than a resort, LOL 😎 I've only ever heard good things about Moreton Island and your video just confirms that. Definitely on my 'To Visit' list. 🙂 Happy new year to you all and I send my best to Larissa. I hope her ankle heals soon. ❤

They are going to love/hate seeing these videos in another ten years! ;-) Great job, Dad. It's the best time of their life and yours. Side question: what is your side awning with the bows? It looks like what I need on my camper trailer. Cheers!
Side awning on the camper is a custom made tarp with sail track. Made it for our lap of Australia, from ecotarps in WA.
@@GoingOverland Very clever, I like it. Thanks!
most excellent - What where the fees?
Sooo good! Maybe one day well make it over there! 😍
You should! It is beautiful, the camera doesn't do it justice. And the claim waves in the bay are so relaxing 😁
Great video. Nice for Dad and kids to have some quality time together. What brand is your canoe ? Your underwater footage showing the array of sealife was awesome. I feel for Larissa as I am also recuperating from a pretty bad foot injury

We've travelled Aussie wide. Finally camped Moreton Island in our backyard. Love our Mini Fraser Island &.ofcourse it's better than a resort👌
Thanks for the support, I think Moreton is a great holiday island and Fraser is a adventure island. But how lucky are we that we can choose from 3 diifferent sand islands 😃
@@GoingOverland Our Great South East is packed with 4WD adventures 👌
Thumbs up Larissa, get well soon buddy
Cheers mate, I'll let her know 👍
With all the mod cons that many people carry around ‘camping’ has evolved into something that is just an extension of being at home
Moreton island is pretty special for sure. How do you rate your snorkel masks? Are they comfortable? Cheers
Yeah I think these new masks are so much better than the traditional style. Didn't leak, you can actually talk under water ant the top of the snorkel closes off when you dive down and stops water entering mask. I would definitely buy it again
Thanks for the info, very much appreciated. Will have to get a couple.
What was your camping site? Does it have a number we could use… love it
No numbers, but it's in the north west zone about 1km from bulwer wrecks. Lots of sites very similar in the same zone too.
This video is lovely. The tent peg used for sand. Is it timber or pegs or bags placed under sand? Happy New Year and this is going to be a great year.
Just the plastic ones you get at a good camp store, had them for years and work great, must be about 300mm long.
Cracker start to 2023. Looking forward to more of your adventures
Thanks mate, it was a fantastic adventure and planning the next couple of trips now
I absolutely LOVE Moreton Island
It's so easy to love, it's next level beautiful and always nice in the bay side. Cheers for the support 👍
great spot, what is it like to drive on the island? eg: are all the tracks sand and how soft is it? ( for a prado etc with normal tyres)
You won't have a problem going anywhere.. just air down to 18psi and you'll cruise everywhere.
No not numbered and you only need to book a zone, so you get to choose a site. And they don't seem to over book it like other places
What a great spot.
It was perfect, and the weather was spot on. My kind of holiday 😁
We love nothing more than to go camping. Bugga spending time in a resort. Canvas over bricks and mortar any day of the week.
Definitely, and just to be able sit on the beach with everything at your fingertips is fantastic. I get a little stir crazy looking at 4 walls. Thanks for the support 👍
what month did you go?
That was Christmas time, so late December, early January. So much fun 🤠👍🍻
Adam maybe you shouldn’t kick Larissa so hard next time, have a great new year you lot
🤣 or trip her over
What beautiful family time, bring your wife back
Yes, it's definitely not the same without her, she is on the mend, so hopefully she will be on the next adventure
Did you know, the first shot of ww1 and ww2 was in Australia at entrance of Port Phillip Bay. By the same man.
Did not know that, very interesting. I do wonder what it was like back then when I see these old structures around the country.
Cheers for the support 👍
Can't really compare a 'budget' trip where you've got a 30 - 50k caravan to a resort where that may be 5k for a week or so.
Nothing beats camping. Resorts are to sterile.
Total agree, I like being outside too. Such a amazing place 👍
Coo
👍
Toyota Rescue Mobile.
I don't discriminate, but seems like a lot of Toyota's lately 🤣
A caravan isnt camping.
i think a paid beach trip would be definitely worth it ! altho I hate booking systems , exspecially online ones. Id rather just rock up n pay as I go . congrats on your trip! Go the Patrol! 🌅🌊🏞️🛻😎🤙📹
