yea I knew it was an F5 I was just having a bit of fun with it when I thought the jet they were fighting in top gun was supposed to be a mig 29. su 34 and su 24 are the only two that come to mind off the top of my head.

The -29K (E-318 shown) is reinforced for carrier ops and packs an arresting hook similar to that on the Northrop Grumman F-14; the -29SMT packs improved avionics, and the -29M joins the SMT avionics to fly-by-wire and improved engines. BTW, is that a -29UB or -29UM that was shown in the last few seconds?
There was no MIG-29a. There was MIG-29 (Fulcrum-A). It was statically stable. Latest MIG-29 series (MIG-29M (MiG-33) MiG-29K, MiG-35) are statically unstable.
It'll be interesting to see if Russia gets its financial situation together how it will effect their military strength. I don't care what people think about them you have to respect them. They are tough people!

wait a minute this jet looks nothing like the one tom cruise flew against in top gun. video has to be a fake. there is no way hollywood would lie to us and use a different jet and pretend its a mig 29. seriously though that is a good looking jet.
And where did you come up with such a double talk? What about R-27 and R-77 missiles? They are definitely more advanced than their american counterparts.

Sorry but theres no way the very large fighter russia makes are anyhting near the ability of the smaller tech the USA comes up with. THey can make big things we make smaller things but better economically. This is actually the size of a phantom... and we all know what those problems were.
One need not be very smart if the Russian planes are cheaper is because they look at those houses apart worse than misery of technology. - United States over all the world.

Those were MiG 28's. As far as i can see, they seem very likely to the F-5. But i'm not sure if they really look-alike.

The mig-28 is a fictional plane,just an f-5 with a red star painted on them. Also, russians always name fighters in odd numbers, I think.
