- Walkabout Wednesday this week features the beautiful Porsche 964 Targa bespoke build we have just finished in our Special Requests Department. Adrian Crawford gives an insight into the idea behind the build and shows off the quality and individuality of this custom beauty before a quick spin up the road.
The customer did not want something so specialised as a Singer, neither did he want to spend that budget. We created a lovely Porsche 911 in iconic slate grey with a few weeks.

We have a 964 here which has had the Tiptronic 'box swapped for a 993 6-speed manual one - very nice conversion
Just go and buy a automatic or manual. It makes no sense to change the car that much.

The interior?????
Yes the interior. Thats what the customer wanted. Subsequently we changed the wheel and it toned it down.

Automatics have their place as well. If you want a pure sports car go with a manual if you want a GT type car go with an automatic.

The cost for something like this as a build obviously depends on the Porsche we start the transformation with and how far you want to go with the customization. This 964 was built to a client's specification, he later decided to sell in favour of a new project! It was sold in 2019 for about £65k. We are in the process of converting another 964 Tiptronic for a customer.....

+1. .. A nice renovation to the 964 targa. .. Are dual front airbags not standard UK production fittings?
Michael, for the UK Porsche never gave us twin airbags, only in the final cars did we get a single airbag steering wheel.
