    Thomas Shelby should be the perfect role model of the modern man. We need to learn the art of being unreactive

    • @Masa6x
      @Masa6x Рік тому +33

      The perfect role? Hell no. There are absolutely many things you can learn from him, many of which Shayan covers. However he's still insanely flawed. He keeps his family in the dark, has really shit interpersonal relationships, uses people like pawns for his own gain without their knowledge or consent, which makes him a great character, but you shouldn't try to be exactly like him.

    • @eeeee2215
      @eeeee2215 Рік тому +11

      @@Masa6x well you shouldn't be exactly like anyone lol, bcz your moral compass is not the same as them, hence even if you have a perfect role model you can't actually agree with him 100 percent. 'Perfect role model of the normal man' I think this guy meant in the corporate and business, especially the political realm as they are full of corrupt leaders

    • @TOBZ333
      @TOBZ333 Рік тому +12

      @@Masa6x the point of making him a role model doesn’t mean copy his character but rather select the positive ones for example the art of being unreactive. Many men can’t discern it’s common sense to know what is positive and negative only fools will want to copy his negative traits

    The thing to remember about Tommy is that he survived the great war. Not only that but he was a part of one of the MOST dangerous and Stressful units of that war. Tunnellers. Thay had a massive attrition rate. To come through that it's not surprising that he was able to master his emotions, on the flip side it could have utterly and absolutely broken him as it did in real life to hundreds of thousands of young men of the time.

    1. Non reactivity
    2. Emotional regulation (especially through physical exercise, breathing and meditation)
    3. State breaking questions (used to redirect conversation, thought, or power. Use sparingly.)
    4. Regulating your mask (maintaining control over ego by thinking ahead and planning all the way to the end and only showing emotions or weakness/strengths strategically.)

    Perfect timing Mr Wahedi, correction Dr Wahedi. I started trading about a month ago and realized my biggest problem wasn't lack of trading related knowledge but lack of emotional non-reactivity and I've been working to improve on it over the past week. I'm excited to gain knowledge from your video. Thank you for the tremendous value you provide to us for free on youtube. Keep rising Shayan and let us all keep rising as the viewers of this amazing channel.

      @@rafayashfaq5663 I developed my strategy so that I have a more solid edge/high probability setup. Then i made sure to write down in a detailed manner why I'm entering a trade. This would give me more confidence in the trade. I then set predetermined stop loss and take profit. I'd tell myself that I've already lost this trade and I'd feel comfortable with the amount I'll lose. Then I looked at the chart always(during managing the trade) without looking at the amount of money my trade is making or losing

    Shelby has PTSD from WW1 and his nervous system is most likely very dis-regulated. The non-reactive behaviour can also be the freeze trauma response. Another way to look at this is if you regulate your nervous system, situations in front of you are no factor. Stoicism also helps. TS is one of the most compelling characters the past decade, Murphy is a master but glamorizing a fictional character isn't getting to the core of self mastery. It's just window dressing.
