If I'm not mistaken Bob owns a oil & heating repair company in Connecticut.

Backlunds autobiography is a must read if you grew up on WWWF late 1970's- early 1980's

Like him or not,BOB BACKLUND was one of the best wrestler of his era.Just ask HARLEY RACE or RICK MARTEL,they will tell you. This is a guy who had great matches with HOGAN,LADD,STUDD,KAMALA etc.

He never faced Kamala, to my knowledge. Are you sure about that? I do know he wrestled the ORIGINAL Sheik. How crazy was that?

@@williamfarr6634 Good question. I got thinking either around '85 when the "Pro Wrestling USA" thing was happening, and/or in the early 90's WWF when Bob returned and eventually did the great heel turn. I know for sure they both were in the same Battle Royal on a Monday Night Raw in early 1993. I guess that technically counts. Now whether they actually had any physical contact with each other in that match I'm not sure as it's been a long time since I watched much of those early RAWS. I'm pretty sure the battle royal in question actually occurred on one of the first five or ten episodes of RAW. Raw debuted in January of '93 and I'm pretty sure the Battle Royal was on Raw for sure in the winter of '93. Google could be my friend at this moment, but I'm just not gonna take the five seconds to find out for sure the date and spend it on this drunken, rambling post I'm typing here at the moment instead. lol

Just about every appearance Kurt made had a comedy aspect to it, what about the pictures with writing on the back or when he would say he loved strudel??? I loved his comedic wit, his intensity, and all the talents he brought to wrestling, a true legend!

He didnt want to stick around with Bob too much because it would make him look too silly? Kurt, the main thing I'll always remember you for is the silliness! In a good way! It was what made you stand out

This is interesting seeing Kurt not being interviewed by Conrad Thompson coz there isn’t a panicked look in his eyes as he ponders damage limitation.

How did I know that Angle was going to call out Backlund's wrestling credentials at the end. I want to find one of him talking about Brock and see if he condescendingly refers to Brock as only being an NCAA champion, lol.
