Models look good, hoping they give us new animations or a least some slightly improved animations since they only ported the old ones over it seems as negev and m249 don't have animated ammo belts.
Yeah, the animations seem like such an obvious point of improvement alongside models you would've thought they would have done *anything* to them. Guess not.
Old USPS and M4A1S looked awful especially compared to og CSGO models for other weapons. They really halfassed them for armsdeal update. USPS barely looks like real USP should and is held wrong in GO, and M4A1S has lots of messed up details and is overly simlpistic and just looked dumb compared to M4A4.(especially charging handle and front handguard). Now these look on par and proper.
New source 2 stuff looks great. Still really interested to see how the dynamic smoke effects gameplay, especially with it being so awesome on the tech front. Speaking of that, the new fire effects look amazing as well. Excited to play it 🤞🏻
While the original CSGO M4A1-S was based off a Colt M723 carbine; the new version looks more like an XM177 with an m4 barrel, suppressor, and a small round forward assist button. Kinda odd they switched to an even older and less accurate model, but it’s cool to see the Colt carbines indirectly represented.

the ACOG on the SG and AUG now point to where the bullet will land instead of staying in the middle of the screen which should make them much less frustrating to use while aimed

@@DarkZerol Nothing beats an 870 price to performance. I have an 870 super mag express I bought years ago new for like 300/350 US. Sadly they don't make the 870 anymore which is why I'm glad I bought one! The Benelli Nova and Super Nova by comparison cost twice the price or more. They both do what their supposed to do but the Benelli did it better. Everything feels solid and moves with ease. The Nova is a wonderful weapon made to very high engineering and manufacturing specifications. The balance is prefect, the action is smooth, and it's very accurate even out to fifty yards. I remember dropping a pheasant 70 ft away and 40ft up in the air. The weapon and I felt like we belonged. The guy I was borrowing it from asked me if I wanted to buy it considering it was new and barely used but sadly I turned it down at the time. I have regretted that decision since, especially considering it was a supernova for only 500 US pesos.
interesting how the new M4A1-S (Colt Model 723) now has a AAC M4-2000 suppressor, and it even has the correct QD flash hider to go with it. definitely an odd thing to put on a retro AR15 but hey I also notice modelling errors for the P2000 (hammer is too high up) and MP5SD (bolt clips through body because it rotates with the charging handle), likewise, alot of pistols shoot without the hammer being cocked back (this sounds like nitpicking, but Valve actually fixed this for the old models in the past, just surprised to see them take a few steps back) hopefully they are fixed soon
Few things I've noticed: Zeus has inspect animation, it never had it in CSGO, which in my opinion definitely confirms Zeus skins incoming Ammo belts for M249 and Negev are not animated, they don't flop, don't feed into the gun and are not moved by the players hands when reloading Something wierd pops out of the left side of mp5 when reloading, I don't think real mp5 does this so this is probably some clipping issue Bullet casings come out from the scopes of sniper rigles, mostly visible on SSG I don't think your fingers are supposed to be kicking back and forth when spraying full auto. Most visible with Famas Mac-10 has a closed chamber now, probably more realistic but I always liked seeing a bullet inside of the chamber, looked really cool
That’s a very funky bug on the MP5. Also the MAC-10s were designed as cheap, open bolt smgs. So it’s less realistic that it was changed to be a closed bolt.
My only gripe is that I wish they would've taken the time to update some of the animations for some weapons. Especially how high of a bar Call of Duty and Insurgency has recently made regarding weapon animations.

The Glock hurts me. Gen4 checkering and backstrap. Gen3 magazine release button. Gen2 non-railed fore. Weirdly custom-cut flush-fit magazine baseplate. No fire select of any kind to be seen. A very small grip and magazine that somehow holds 20 rounds of 9x19, when in reality it would hold about ten or twelve at most.
Funny to see that the slower, smoothed, almost-recreational reload animations still remind you that this game originated as a mod. I'm a little too used to seeing Call of Duty Modern Warfare/MW II's frenzied "In-the-Middle-of-Combat" reloads and the incredibly high bar they set and which a lot of games have worked hard to imitate since 2019.
They should change the animations, you only need to rack the slide if the magazine is empty and the slide stays locked back. If you reload a partially emptied magazine and rack the slide with a fresh magazine inserted, you'll eject the round that was chambered. The TEC-9 is also wrong since it fires from an open bolt. Its modified version, the KG-99, fires from a closed bolt such as the one shown here. Other than that, looks pretty nice compared to CS:GO.
No you don't, because it is in all effect a gameplay mechanic. In counter strike every detail matters, even the reload time of different weapons, so you could say that the reload animation is purely a visual detail.
@@Metalbringer92 it does affect gameplay, your weapon would be ready to use as soon as it got on screen. I've seen countless videos of players dying because they switched from the knife to their primary and got stuck on the charging animation. You only cycle the action when you reload from an empty magazine. Reloading an empty mag or half full mag takes more or less the same time. For such a detail oriented game, as you put it, it's quite amateurish and lazy to use those animations.

Racking the slide or a bolt is satisfying as hell, movie directors know it, that's why in 99% of movies, they always cycle the action after reloading, even if they ejected a half full magazine. There are a lot of ways of modernizing the animations and maintaining the "gameplay mechanics" that most CS players like. For instance, when switching between weapons, make the character take off the safety, or even doing a press check (manually checking if the weapon is chambered) when the weapon has a full magazine. BOOM, problem solved.
Because CS2 uses new engine with new environment lighting, can you check how flash behave when thrown into smoke, or do the shadow of enemy will be shown in the smoke while flashing it, or do the LEDs of bomb will glow in the smoke. Can you show how different guns penetrate smoke., lmg, smg etc or the muzzle flash of those guns in the smoke. Will molotov spread like smoke if it thrown into tunnel like space.
I haven't played CS2 but I would think since the smokes are now actual objects in the environment and not essentially just a shader in an area that it would stop all those problems from happening

I'm assuming most of these are subject to change. The MG belts in their reload kinda gives it away but I think the guns and sounds probably have the most negative reception out of anything cs2 related
Eh, never played CS in a very long time but why does most weapon especially the machine guns sounds like it's unrealistically suppressed? It sounds like those electric BB guns.
I just noticed that even on full-auto, the index finger looks like it's on a hair-trigger, shooting one individual shot as opposed to keeping it squeezed.
They're emphasizing the iron sights so much, I wonder if they're gonna make it like valorant optional ADSing, because they already did the same with the foot steps sound on mini map like val
Only problem i have is how clean all these look now. GO has them all worn out, like all weapons seen some use. These look like some gun sim pristine models.

I love the fact that PP Bizon 's magazine fills up with bullets when you just unplug it and then plug it in again. They really put valuable effort to this. ☠️
You would think this would be a perfect time to update the animations, but I guess not. It's a simple way they could make everything feel atleast a bit better to use.
Cs was never on the realistic side of things since the beginning, but something still baffles me more out of all; When you slide the rail front of a Scar like that, you don't hear a tiny click, you hear a powerful and heavy weapon creating a loud sound as the metal hit each other.

all the same issues are still here which makes me sad, hammers not being cocked back, xm reload is still bugged, list goes on, they did fix the m4 safety though, good job volvo :)..an then I have to take that back because on the a4 it has the safety on..cmon guys.
mac10 is even worse than before now, the bolt is now closed even tho its an open bolt gun. mags still clips, trigger fingers twitching like hell on some and whatever is wrong with the mp5 reload. i really really hope that they will put more work into it. they got new shiny models, now they just need to fix them and polish the animations.. valve pls fix
They messed up on the MAC 10, supposed to be an open bolt. Weird stuff clipping through the MP5. The trigger finger pulls after every shot, which is not at all how automatics work, and it's pulling at superhuman speed. Speaking of which, it also clips through either the trigger or trigger guard in almost every firearm. The cutout for the AK charging handle looks like it's totally missing as well.
Why didn't they use the bottle-fluid shader from Half Life Alyx? It look amazing! people working on S&Box enabled it for TF2 Demoman bottle, so it is definitely usable in a non-VR FPS.

I'm guessing these are placeholder animations & sounds since the two LMGs have static belts when firing and reloading. I would love to see some new ones though. At least distinctive "empty" & "not empty" reloads.
With the way valve has changed the models to look almost 1/1 with their irl counterparts, their new focus on making the reticle and scope dots follow recoil and the negev and m249s links not being rigged to the old animations, I have very little doubt that valve are making new animations for the full release.
I started playing cs because this is coming out. I got it years ago and it’s just been sitting in my steam library. I wish I had started playing years ago because it’s very fun.
They should remodel some of the guns to be more modern variants like the new galil gen, or mac-10 should be replaced by a CZ scorpion (without a stock). M4A1-S had a tri prong flash hider underneath the suppressor (idk if that was in CSGO) P2000 could be a Sign M17 or something. Idk just more modern equivalency without changing the gameplay.
I love that Valve actually took the time to license the actual names of the weapons. Unlike Activision with Call of Duty.

Having hunted with the Benelli Nova in real life before, I have to say it's one of my favorite shotguns. It's accurate as hell and robust to boot.

the mac-10 has an open bolt system, so they ended up making it less realistic making it closed bolt

@@Stuntman175 it's so dumb to load your weapon everytime you switch to it, but CS players aren't humble enough to admit it. for them it's just a core mechanic rather than a animation mistake yet to be fixed.

Racking the slide or a bolt is satisfying as hell, movie directors know it, that's why in 99% of movies, they always cycle the action after reloading, even if they ejected a half full magazine.
There are a lot of ways of modernizing the animations and maintaining the "gameplay mechanics" that most CS players like.
For instance, when switching between weapons, make the character take off the safety, or even doing a press check (manually checking if the weapon is chambered) when the weapon has a full magazine. BOOM, problem solved.
I wish they made the pistols when empty lock back the slide. The animation could be the same and could still technically work

Because CS2 uses new engine with new environment lighting, can you check how flash behave when thrown into smoke, or do the shadow of enemy will be shown in the smoke while flashing it, or do the LEDs of bomb will glow in the smoke. Can you show how different guns penetrate smoke., lmg, smg etc or the muzzle flash of those guns in the smoke. Will molotov spread like smoke if it thrown into tunnel like space.
I haven't played CS2 but I would think since the smokes are now actual objects in the environment and not essentially just a shader in an area that it would stop all those problems from happening

Im glad they changed some sounds, especially the AK sound. It always used to bother me how loud it was when playing on higher sound setting so that i can hear footsteps
Hearing the mags drop on the ground will make it slightly harder to sneak and i think that's a good thing

prettt sure you could hear the mag drop in cs:go too. oh and yeah, you can gear everyone reloading so doesnt really change anything
thats a standard thing, mags dropping while reloading, the "clicking" sounds of weapon scope being used.
I'm assuming most of these are subject to change. The MG belts in their reload kinda gives it away but I think the guns and sounds probably have the most negative reception out of anything cs2 related
Eh, never played CS in a very long time but why does most weapon especially the machine guns sounds like it's unrealistically suppressed? It sounds like those electric BB guns.
I just noticed that even on full-auto, the index finger looks like it's on a hair-trigger, shooting one individual shot as opposed to keeping it squeezed.

When you slide the rail front of a Scar like that, you don't hear a tiny click, you hear a powerful and heavy weapon creating a loud sound as the metal hit each other.

mac10 is even worse than before now, the bolt is now closed even tho its an open bolt gun. mags still clips, trigger fingers twitching like hell on some and whatever is wrong with the mp5 reload. i really really hope that they will put more work into it. they got new shiny models, now they just need to fix them and polish the animations.. valve pls fix

They messed up on the MAC 10, supposed to be an open bolt. Weird stuff clipping through the MP5. The trigger finger pulls after every shot, which is not at all how automatics work, and it's pulling at superhuman speed. Speaking of which, it also clips through either the trigger or trigger guard in almost every firearm. The cutout for the AK charging handle looks like it's totally missing as well.
I like how the guns are not set to automatic, it's the players' trigger finger that goes full auto.

I'm guessing these are placeholder animations & sounds since the two LMGs have static belts when firing and reloading.
I would love to see some new ones though. At least distinctive "empty" & "not empty" reloads.
With the way valve has changed the models to look almost 1/1 with their irl counterparts, their new focus on making the reticle and scope dots follow recoil and the negev and m249s links not being rigged to the old animations, I have very little doubt that valve are making new animations for the full release.

M4A1-S had a tri prong flash hider underneath the suppressor (idk if that was in CSGO) P2000 could be a Sign M17 or something. Idk just more modern equivalency without changing the gameplay.
