Absolutely stunning. Being 48yo, this is an amazing experience just to watch. Being a heavy fan of Castlevania, this rendition of SotN to play is added to my bucket list.
Holy crap, Dracula´s new attacks and animations are so fluid, someone watching this for the first time wouldn´t be able to tell they weren´t there in the original game. I tip my hat for the creator/s, it looks and feels incredible!
@Oren Black There's nothing illegal, it's a patreon reward you don't directly buy it, and it's just a demo the mod will be available for free, and beside the guy behind this have been working on this for years and alone, he more than deserve some compensation, for basically giving more respect to this game and it's fans than Konami ever did.
@Oren Black Honnestly I have no trust about you being employed by Konami, trolls that pretend to work for a big compagny on Internet are legion and unless solid proof are given there is no reasons to trust such a claim. Secondly people don't pay the guy for the demo, he give an early access as a reward to people that supported him on patreon, the demo will be public and free eventually as will be the mod when it eventually release.
@Oren Black I have nothing to worry about, if you were truly an employee of Konami, I believe you would have better things to do than discussing in comment section of a demo video, like go investigating the mod creator instead, also a professionnal of any compagny would stay professionnal and wouldn't put smileys in their message like that.
0:11 Trivia: The map that appears in the intro is the ca.1500 Map of Juan de la Cosa, a Spanish navigator and cartographer. In SOTN you can see it inverted horizontally, and the camera moves to where the United States are located (not towards Wallachia). This is the map: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Map_of_Juan_de_la_Cosa
This is what a true remake looks like, keeping the overall look of the original but elevating the mechanics through subtle quality of life changes. Godspeed to Esco, he's a true castlevania master!
Wow, the voice acting is amazing. And the translation is much better. I mean, I miss the original's ham and cheese nature, but this is definitely higher quality and absolutely fascinating.
Finally a version of Ricter that is between the Emotionless version and the one that overflows with Emotions, perfectly balanced as all things should be 👌
Truly outstanding work here. I'm not real big on a lot of the second dub, but one thing I appreciate here is Dracula's death yell. I find the original to be perfect, and the way the second dub's sounded as it were...was pretty bad. The audio edits for it here are very welcome and well done!
I didnt know this guy wanted you to PAY for this konami ip game (konami game) if i see this guy in court in the near future paying back everything it will not be a surprise and also he doesnt even have robert belgrade doing alucard... this game is a failure from the start.. no matter how much i like it i and thousands of others will not like the voice... its our opinion just as much as it is his to choose this nobody from psp voice actor.. what a fail! belgrade even sounds like belmont how can you skip him?????
You changed the best thing in this game, the dialog between Rochter and Dracula. I won't be playing this, mankind I'll needs a butcher such as this. But enough talk, fuck this!
SOTN is over a quarter of a century old and yet there isn't a single hack that is a complete game. Super Metroid has hundreds of hacks I'd pay money for (they're free because people would be sued). I would definitely pay for a hack of this game, $30 seems like a good price. But of course Konami is pretty much done with Castlevania.
looks good! and i'm an OLD castlevania fan, with my interest started in the series way back with super Castevania IV, and then cemented with the original PS1 release. god, i wish i still had that.. mine was pre "greatest hits" re-release.. i prized that game... 😿😿
It sounds like a rather difficult project to carry out, but it would really be incredible if there was a final version in which all the enemies and bosses of the castle have their revision. And both Alucard and Maria have improved attacks and animations just like Richter
Honestly, I absolutely adore all the work he's put into it, but absolutely am soul crushed by how he changed it from being a Metroidvania to levels / stages.
Amazing! The new animations are stunning! Can't say I am much fond of the new dialogues, or the voice over narration after the battle, but otherwise this is INCREDIBLE!
Somebody PATCH HIS WORK!!! When he releases it.. .ill even study to do it myself if i have to.. ill put "Robert Belgrade" only HE IS ALUCARD and none else...
so in 12 years the demo is a slightly improved version of the prologue which is exactly what the demo was 12 years ago... I seriously hope none of you are falling for this.
Just an input, I don't think you need to show the "stage clear" screen after defeating Dracula. Since the beginning part was meant to be a prologue, it would feel nicer to transition immediately to the text scrolling/voice over part. It just feels so unnatural. So in the essence of it being a prologue, it's just better from the the story perspective to have a smooth transition 'til Alucard comes in.
this is not the dev doe, he just shares what esco has currentlly develop plus he only listen to community request when you're paying his patreon subscription
I gotchu bro! Be sure to check out my other video where I defeated Dracula without taking damage and without using subweapons! The video link is also in my description!
I wonder if this will at least add the Saturn extras in. I'd deal with the PSP dialog if it at least had something that I couldn't get out of the original PSX version.
Yep! Item crashes are on the left, subweapons are on the right. You can have a mix of any item crash and sub weapon which opens up different opportunities!
Not a fan of Dracula's voice in the rerelease, it just doesn't fit what his character looks like, this is just my opinion his voice should sound older and sinister and annoyed by Ritcher like original dub, Ritcher voice isn't too bad actually. Some people may disagree with this but Dracula's death scream in the original was more terrifying and epic than this one, it set the tone for the rest of the game.
yes,it's still in progress from time to time the author posts a new video showing the progress or new ideas, first he posts it on patreon and some things just stay there, but it's in progress
God, I've been waiting for this project for so very long and I've been following you for a long time. I absolutely cannot wait until this is finished! It looks so beautiful 😭🙏🎮🕹️💜💯
I don't know if it's too late but could you hide the UI during the dialogue so it's not clashing with the text box? I liked the new portraits a lot, you got Richter's Hair right which sounds minor but it's kind of important to contrast him before and after shaft's influence turns him from a straight laced, clean cut, vampire killer into a long haired, decadent, vampire thrall.
Absolutely stunning. Being 48yo, this is an amazing experience just to watch. Being a heavy fan of Castlevania, this rendition of SotN to play is added to my bucket list.

I hope Castlevania Nocturne is awesome and has Symphony of Night callbacks
@positiveapproachcounseling1388 I'm sorry Nocturne is crap worse than castlevania netflix series it's more of a cash grab by idk house ny Netflix

- They were just a miserable little pile of secrets...
it follows the psp/ps4 scripts
Better translation.
Been following the project for like 10 years now. Happy to see this❤️
