Sign of a great song... when you went to hear it again immediately! This song is timeless yet tied to a very specific point in history. Best antiwar song of the 60's along with "Fortunate Son" by Creedence. It kind of heralds the end of the 60's and loss of innocence as well as life.
@@judewessel5713 Okay we'll go '73. Mick Taylor was still there then so fair enough. GOAT'S HEAD SOUP from that year is a brilliant album and their live material from then is better than anything they've done since.
Not short by 60s standards when songs were shorter than this at just 2 to 3 minutes to get on the radio. One of their very best in any event. If you want longer, try Midnight Rambler or Can't You Hear Me Knocking, both incredible jams in studio and even longer live. The Stones forever! Enjoy. 🎵🎤🎸🎹🎷🎶
IMHO the Stones' most impactful song. I love it. This is a song that feels like the product of the difficult times it came from: racial unrest, a very unpopular war (Viet Nam), political scandals and protest.
This song is so true. Those lyrics will always be true. War is just a shot away literally think of WW1 a global conflict was set off buy an assassination. And with war comes all the horror and struggle(R4pe and Murder) But Alternatively Love is just a kiss away. Sometimes it can be hard to see all the peace and love that does exist in our crazy, sad , disfunctional world. I love your reactions
"Gimme Satisfaction" Freudian slip 🤔 Thanks for including that cute blooper Jess! 🤣🤣🤣 The Rolling Stones have some iconic tunes, and I think Mick Jagger's drawl leaves a bit of ambiguity if you only ever hear the songs without reading the lyrics 😅 I didn't know what a lot of the songs were about for a long time as a kid. Some other choice tracks from the Stones - Honky Tonk Women, Brown Sugar, Streetfighting Man, and Paint It Black.
Over these last few months, every time I hear this song playing on the radio...it always makes me think of you.❤ IDK if that's flattering but I also remember the first time that we ever talked...it was when you Premiered this Reaction.
Merry Clayton is the female singer hitting the high notes. She actually has sung with a lot of other artists and was quite distinguished as a singer. My father was a Stones fan so this story is interesting and sad. I guess they called her up in the middle of the night to come in and record this. As the story goes she showed up in slippers and hair curlers. She also was pregnant at the time. However, she ended up having a miscarriage soon after this recording. Many believe that it was because of the stress and strain she put on herself singing these parts. So sad... I hope this didn't ruin the song for you...
Good call David, Jess is an absolutely fantastic reactor!!! Most would say that she's....... Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!!!!!! Or, you could just say she's wonderful... 🙂🙂🙂
FYI…the opening “OOOOH OOOOH OOOOH’s” at the very beginning of the song are Mick Jagger hitting falsetto vocals. The background high pitched vocals after that and the middle solo are by a woman named Merry Clayton
Hi Jess.... I always enjoy your reaction videos so much... it's like I'm lying in my bed as well while watching the video... and I also love your adorable and heartfelt comments after the song is over. Oh yes ! I wanted to ask if you have read my comment to your Aurora reaction... and that I would love to see you react to some more of her live videos. Best wishes : Gerry P.S. : Your dog is really cute... ;-)
Merry Clayton started out as one of Ray Charles’s backing singers…the Stones were made aware of her through a co-producer. She was pregnant at the time that she was brought in to sing this. She was not even aware of how famous the Rolling Stones were. “ Just singin white boys” is all she knew. She ended up miscarriagong soon after this recording
Jess, I got it for sure this time... BED HEADS!!!! This works on so many levels... There's a famous band called the Greatful Dead (please don't react to them) and their fans who followed them every where were called Dead Heads... and it works the other way too, waking up in the morning and your hairs a mess because we've been watching your reactions all night, in bed usually. BED HEADS has to be the winner!!! You're right Bedoholics was singular, apparently, VERY singular!!!
Great reaction. My favorite songs by them are in this order Shattered, Respectable, Mother's Little Helper, and 2000 Light Years From Home. Thank you for being you. What's that cute dogs name?
It was about the Vietnam war! Stupid ass war we should have never ever been in. Another song by them about this war was Paint it black! This song was really about the students that were shot at Kent State, because of this war , just sayin'👀
The Stones are not bad, but if you would like to hear IMO better versions of some of their songs check out Johnny Winter, Jumping Jack Flash, It's all over now, then also Streetheart does a good version of Under my Thumb. Enjoy your reactions as always.

Great reaction, Jess. And I loved that you played it again straight away. The Stones were incredible during that 1968-72 era. Untouchable.
73*

War and peace was a constant theme during the Vietnam War. The draft ended in Jan 1973 in the US.
Merry Clayton providing The Best vocal accompaniment Mick Jagger ever had ❤️

Go get Beggar's Banquet, Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, Exile On Main Street, and Get Yer Ya Yas Out. Play them loud and play them often.
Listen to a live version featuring Lisa Fischer, she was the back up singer from 1989 until the mid 2010's
Love your Size from America more specifically Texas, that "Tank Top"..WOW! Jess!😳 just saying!

All the things that war brings
Rolling Stones "Beast Of Burden" is pure🔥 the video with famous mouth logo which is the better version of Hall Of Famer Mick Jagger's voice.👍👍👍🎵🎵
You really should watch the Oscar-winning documentary ‘20 feet from stardom’. You won’t regret.
5:11 - I'm claiming that one.
Congrats. You heard Merry Claton.
Great reaction. My favorite songs by them are in this order Shattered, Respectable, Mother's Little Helper, and 2000 Light Years From Home.

Please listen can't help falling in love by Diana Ankudinova she is amazing and beautiful young lady with a contralto voice
There is no point talking while the song is playing. We can't hear what you are saying...
Thanks for the tip
