- Confused on which SMART OVEN AIR FRYER from Breville to BUY? I was just like you very confused and debating on which on to purchase especially that I don't have a big counter space in my kitchen, I tried both of them and decided which one I am going to keep and probably either return the other one or gift it.

Both of them are very powerful and I love them both, they are just amazing and heat up really fast and you can do a lot with either or, it is so worth the buy! I honestly stopped using my regular large oven after bringing this home, it is literally the best air fryer in the market, my entire family use it and it does not feel intimidating for my kids to use unlike the big oven. I bought mine from Williams Sonoma and it was on sale which make it more appealing to me. I was eyeing it for a while especially that now we are on the health side and also recently my toaster oven stopped working so I wanted to buy a toaster oven that has all features toaster oven air fryer and smart oven all in one, so finally when it went on sale i purchased it. Also Bed Bath and Beyond sell it, however they were limited in colors for the smaller smart oven air fryer, and I wanted the stainless steel one. Get the largest ... won’t be sorry. Fits 9x13s. I’m single and many times needed to use the 9x13 size for batch cooking or my baked veggies! I use it for warming up left overs vs microwave .. doesn’t over cook leftovers. I have several Le Creuset ceramic and cast iron pieces I use with this oven.

I haven’t gotten to use it. The door was loose in box. Disappointed due to needing it right away. Manufacturer has been extremely helpful and is shipping a new oven right away. Great customer service!

Does the larger one make a fan noise even when being used for baking or toasting?
Thanks for comparing the two models. I want the larger model but I am concerned with how much heat is generated on each side of the unit. I have an open cabinet above a built in mini fridge (24" wide x 24" deep x 18" high) which appears to be built for a toaster oven. Breville recommends 4" clearance on each side of the unit. Obviously I would not have the recommended 4" inches on each side but was just curious how hot the sides of the unit get after use?
My pleasure Jonathan🌷 If you put your hands on the unit while it’s in use, It is very hot, however, if I put my hand close to it about one inch apart, I don’t feel much hotness. I have a Stand Mixer close to it about 2 inches apart from it and it never got hot. I believe Breville recommends the 4 inches for Ventilation reason...also of course liability. There are Ventilation slots in each sides of the appliance. Air fryer setting also requires proper space and plenty of air flow and circulation. In all honesty, I don’t think I would put mine in an open Cabinet. Good luck with your decision and purchase... after using it for few months now, I don’t think I can ever live without it 🙏💕

Is this the same as the Pro version?
Does the Breville Bov860 (smaller one) make any buzzing noise when not in use but plugged in? I saw in some reviews that people are complaining about a high pitch noise unrelated to the convection fan.
I don’t think you will hear buzzing noise in the smaller one only in the big one after you turn it off the fan keeps going on for few minutes. It bothered me at first but then I learned to open the door for a bit to help it cool off faster 💕

Good comparison and thank you. I am still conflicted. I think the smaller footprint will win out. The other just looks so massive. Can you set timers on both? Do they pause and resume time when air frying?

While in use any time you open the door, the timer will pause and will resume when you close the door.

I wish I had seen this video before I bought mine. I got the smaller one because it seemed big enough to cook a 12" pizza, and I thought I could proof my dough in it. I didn't realize it lacked the proofing feature. I didn't realize it lacked the dehydrating feature, too.
Unfortunately, the small one doesn’t have those features, but I don’t use those two features very often, so don’t feel bad it is still super good….

Thank you CookieShaKe…I am gladly review was helpful to you🌟🌸 I believe it has the capacity to roast a whole chicken and I think it will fit, however, it might be a little tight…and you probably have to put the Rack on the lowest level to make it fit. It could be also close to the heating elements depending on how big is the chicken 🐓…Aluminum foil on the top will help if that’s the case 🌟🌷
Just received mine today. I went with the large one. My only concern is when air frying whatever oil is on the food will drip onto the heating elements. Any tips?

Hi I have a question about the smaller one. When you air fry foods that drip such as chicken and other meat do you use the aluminum foil on the bottom rack or no because I was told not to and of course it was smoking everywhere how do you suggest I prevent this ? thank you
thinking you could place the drip tray on a rack underneath the basket (maybe place a sheet of foil flat on the inside of the drip tray?)

Hi Goca, I don’t use aluminum foil because somehow it blocks the heat from distributing evenly and will take longer time for anything to be cooked but I usually put put parchment paper underneath the chicken. Watch my other video “Best way how to keep Air fryer clean” Thanks got watching 🙏🌷

My question is what if I am following a tecipe in youtube should I adjust?

This is what I needed. Just tried the large one and my wife hates that it takes 6 min to toast 2 slices 😮. Upgrading from toaster oven to add the air fryer. I think we are going to switch it to the small one now. Will save 90 sec for toasting 😂.

They are both very powerful 1800 Watt each …I use the reheat function a lot since I don’t like to use the microwave too often to heat our left over. Usually it takes about 15 minutes or little longer to reheat…it depends on how big is the quantity …I would think both should be about the same with the reheat function, maybe the larger one tiny bit faster🌸💕🌷

As the 900 is not available overseas - would dehydration also be possible in the smaller one by doing so with manual settings?

I heard that before that they don’t have the larger one overseas... this is strange, however, You will love the small one as well and will not be disappointed! As for the dehydration, I would assume you can still dehydrate in it if you put your fruits or vegetables on a single layer in the air fryer basket ...if you think the vegetables or fruits will drip... either put parchment paper underneath them or a dripping tray and set it on a very low temperature for few hours. You can go as low as 120F with this smart oven which is awesome 🙌

At which temperature does the preset dehydration mode run on the big one? 120F as well?
Sure ...anytime 🥰 As far as the large one I checked the manual and the Preset Dehydrate temperature is 125F, also the preset time is 12:00 hr with preset super convection.
The Dehydrate Settings can be adjusted in the Large one from 86F- 176F. Please note that the small one on the Bake function has the Super Convection setting as well.

Ok, so the big one has quite some lower temperature settings available, 86F vs 120F if I get you right, interesting.
Though that's probably more due to the dough proofing, don't think you'd go much under 120F for dehydration...around 105F wouldn't hurt though.
Yes the larger one has lower settings...the lowest you can go in the Large one is 85F with the Proof Setting. I want to also mention that I have checked the “Warm setting” which the small one has as well and the lowest you can go is 110F....I hope this can help🌷
You might want to use your "talking voice" versus your "soft" everyday voice. To solve that, get a wireless clipped to your blouse.
speak up I got my volume maxed and barely hear you!! When you push buttons it is really loud but your voice is soooooo far away
