      @@NutmegNotebook Why didn't you say you're compensated for advertising the Breville brand? Honesty builds trust. Not the other way round. That's important, IMO, especially when promoting an excellent product.

    I've been researching countertop convection ovens for the past few days, and this was THE BEST review of Breville Smart Oven Pro. This video convinced me to purchase this model. I love the idea of air frying veggies without any oil or seasonings. The brown rice air fry veggie 'eggroll'! GREAT idea. Lots of good tips and demonstrations of how to cook in the oven to maintain the integrity and beauty of the vegetables!!! This is what I was looking for and how I plan on using the oven. THANK YOU!

    This is the very best demo on an air fryer with food I've ever seen. I just bought a mini Breville toaster oven-space issues. But in the near future I will again try an air fryer. I had a high-end brand that gave out after 3 years. I love to see the food fixed with no oil. I had the smell of oil all over my home. This is fabulous for a plant based diet. Thank you for a great presentation.

      Does it affect the air circulation for the air fryer ? I want to purchase one 🦋

    • @jm4721
      @jm4721 4 роки тому +1

      @@julia1234 doesn’t seem to affect the air circulation. I used my daughter’s air fryer...but if her model is built like mine..the fan to circulate air is located on the back side of the fryer...so air is circulating throughout.

    Looks good. I have a similar machine cuisinart. One thing I would say as with any oven, minimize the times you open and close, and don’t stand there with it open lol, also I would be tempted to put the big oven on warm and keep the things taken out earlier warm while you finish up. Hmm ... I got two of the Air Fryer racks, with mine. Anyway, had the Brevel Convection Oven for about 4 or 5 years and it was great, so after remodeling the kitchen I decided to upgrade to this. Love that it is slightly bigger and can use more accessories that I could only use in a regular oven. I have used the Air-Fryer mode now a few times and I love it. You are right no need to use seasoning. And the food tastes great! Trying my best to stick to a plant-based diet and this Air-Fryer helps a great deal in doing that. 👍👍👍 on the video.

I received my Breville today and it was on sale so thank you for emailing your Nutmeg Notebook blog subscribers notice of the sale. I am thankful I have this oven now. It was a treat to myself.

    Thank You Tammy. We just purchased this smart Breville for a gap without mw or range until delivery. You have demonstrated how useful it is. We have thus far baked steaks, fish in foil, fresh vegetables in smaller slices, chunks, with olive oil & broth, covered, steamed till we see the broth boil. We've airfied turkey bacon on roastpan, under 4 slices of toast beside a mini casserole of 2 eggs+1eggwhite + 1 Tb almond milk & spices stirred, Airfried at 420° super convection, 12 min. & toast outs earlier. Im about to try oatmeal for 2 servings + almond milk,+ 1 Tb shredded unsweeted coconut+ 1 Tb almond flour + cinnamon & vanilla spices & see how long in a glass casserole on 'Airfry or Bake' will it take to cook. Your Airfry vegetables will be roasted next. I think I'll be ready for our mock indoors 'camping' week. Seems when the new mw & gas range arrive, they may be used less than this smart oven. BTW, we purchased the cutting board, will call co. to purchase second tray.

    Thanks for the great demonstration. I've just had to return my brand new Microwave 3in1 as it was faulty and Sage/Breville say there are no spares for months. I've been considering this Smart Oven Air instead, but also looking at conventional air fryers which are a lot cheaper. I love the standard size/look of the Smart Oven though. One thing which worries me is that it seems to take so long to air fry instead of traditional cooking. and at 2500watts I wonder if it is in fact any more economical. Asparagus steams in about 2 minutes and mushrooms fry in about 5 minutes, sprouts boil in 3 minutes - but it takes so much longer in the air fryer.

      I need a second one, too. Glad you mentioned that Breville doesn’t recommend more than two for Air Frying. Wonder if we can use more than two for dehydrating. Haven’t tried using that function yet. Want to dehydrate mushrooms for times when a recipe calls for them and I have none in the refrigerator.

  • @UrsulaJStLouis
    @UrsulaJStLouis Місяць тому +1

    How do you keep the bars under the air fry trays clean? I wasn’t going to use the air fry option as I didn’t want to mess up the Breville. I did put a sheet of foil on the bottom tray that slides out but won’t do it anymore since you said Breville said they didn’t recommend it. This is my third Breville. I keep upgrading. LOL. I’d like to try chicken wings but am afraid it would make a mess of the oven. Thank you from NH. A great video.

    This has been really helpful. @Breville should take note. One question, if you upped the temp would this all take less time? What is the advantage of the 400 degrees? In my oven I tend to roast higher than that for more browning. Is it different with this machine?

    • @NutmegNotebook
      @NutmegNotebook  Рік тому

      Super convection cooks fast because of the fan circulation and 400 seems to be the sweet spot. The inside gets cooked without burning the outside.

      You can just put them in a covered dish or you could start with the items that take longer then add the shorter cooking time veggies.

    so we made beef tips on our second try using our revile smart over air fry mode but the pan that came with the over isn't big enough to catch all the drippings.. do you only use the bottom of the air fryer to catch the drippings or did you purchase an additional pan to catch the grease that falls.? thank you so much for your video! it was very helpful! revile should give you some compensation! you are marvelous!
