Holy crap Bill!! That footage looked absolutely incredible in 2160 on my 17" laptop! Can't wait to see what comes out of that bad boy once you really dive into it. Thanks for sharing!
Great review as always bill, thanks for taking a time to do these kinds of videos. I think it's very interesting that dji is pushing the boundaries with high bit rates and resolutions that are meant for the silver screen. Can't really do much with 4K on UA-cam. But all in all great stuff
I have seen a few issues on UA-cam now with inspire 2 build, mainly motor bearing or prop issues and also the leg crossbar loose allowing the landing gear to fold in and out a little. Will be interesting to see if you find a noisy motor at some point. Also, it always appears to be the front left if looking from behind.
You might tell them how much fun it is to insert the DJI License to get the Cinessd Cards to work. I also found out that turning on the Cinessd Was more complicated than I initially anticipated so I had a couple flights that were real short due to cards not recording but were turned on and identified by my controller. You present information excellently.
Very impressive camera. How does the noise level of the Inspire 2 compare to the Phantom 4? I shoot some live subjects and want to avoid having my subjects looking up at the bird.
I watched your vid's on my 24" desktop PC that's not Hi-Def and the quality is fantastic, crystal clear. It's easy to see why that camera costs as much as it does. Did you do anything in post other than add music?
Thanks Bill.... Loving the reviews... Keep them coming - Amazing footage shot - Whats your thoughts on Apples FCP? - As I notice you use a Mac but for editing and post you say you use Premiere and DaVinci Resolve for editing video... Any reason you don't use FCP? - Cheers Tim UK
Nice quality out of the H.264. I am still waiting on my I2 to come in although I only got it with Pro Res for now and opted to get more batteries and accessories. When you do the 5.2k DNG can you also show how it stacks with Pro Res?
This was terrific especially as I have an Inspire 1 ..Great job. Also good to hear about the props from DJI ( Inspire 1).. Any idea what's planned for Inspire 2 or 3.. Thanks Simon
I'm a DJI novice, still finding my feet, so find these videos informative and useful-so thanks. My question is who would buy this, over a Phantom 4/Pro etc? I can see the point of Bill, as he said in the previous video he can make then money back in 2 days work (I'm in the wrong job!) but for me, is the stability and picture quality worth a 800% increase in price? Also, as mentioned in some of the comments, you need a fast broadband connection and a decent PC to really see the difference-and that's if UA-cam doesn't mess up on post-processing you video (if your idea is to show the world). I'm delighted with the picture and video quality of my P4 but I think this would be for the professionals, who earn a (really) good living out of drone work. Loving the videos and thanks for taking the time to make them, even if the items are way beyond my price point :-)
Bill I would also like to add that we need to go by what your analysis is of comparing the different video formats since UA-cam by nature kills all the fine nuances that 4K/5k footage really looks like. Looking forward to your next videos on the Inspire 2 looks like DJI after all the earlier years has finally come out with a really nice cinema copter. Unfortunately for me I am stuck with now old outdated and unsupported DJI S900 which at the time of release cost big $$ and the new Inspire 2 clobbers it in every way.
Bill question , I just received my i2 this week and I'm hearing that the batteries have to be paired. I'm finding no videos nothing talking about pairing the batteries can you help, thanks in advance Great video
Hi Urban - Meaning keep them in pairs so they wear at the same rate. In the package with the inspire you had the sticker pairs that had like A-F - basically just label the batteries so you can match them up in pair and use them in pairs. That's it, they don't mean pairing as it pairing them to something. Congrats!
Greetings Bill, A little over a week ago I purchased the Inspire 2 CinemaDNG / Apple ProRes combo. I've got a few questions for you, but my first and foremost pertains to the X5S camera. I'm using the 240GB SSD, and I have two of them. I know that'll get me roughly 8 minutes of 5.2k footage per SSD. My issue is whenever I'm filming in 5.2k and saving to the SSD, when I upload the footage via the CINESSD adapter to my MacBook Pro 15inch with touch-bar, it's wanting to save the footage as hundreds of DNG picture files. When editing my videos, I use Final Cut Pro X, but other than that, I don't have too much experience in video / photo editing. Is there a software I can download that'll take those hundreds of DNG files and convert them into the actual 5.2k video? I've got a big inspection job in Tennessee at the end of this month, and I want to make sure everything is operating smoothly. I'll probably be filming in 4k for this inspection job, but regardless I'd like to have this situation figured out ahead of time. Additionally, say when I'm filming in 4k with the X5S, is there a way that I can just save the footage to the 64GB U3 MicroSD card I have, and not the 240GB SSD? Thanks if you found the time to read this Bill! Mike
Hi Mike - Yes CinemaDNG is as many RAW DNG images as your framerate (24 images / second). You can bring those into either after affects or Davinci and export from there. I would recommend Davinci generally, it is much faster. You can record to the SSD and to the SDmicro card at the same time. So yes you can do exactly what you asked. Good luck! Love to hear how it went
Wow $7000 dollars I guess if you use it for professional video it is worth it very very nice video incredible machine but for now I will help to keep my phantom 4
rick primmer Rick I agree and realistically for UA-cam videos the new Phantom 4 Pro is a great little bird assuming if you know what you are doing. Spending $7K on an Inspire 2 is really designed for professional use..
The Phantom 4 is very capable ( I still have one, rebought after selling mine) and when I had an issue with my Inspire 1 Pro on a job, I finished it with the Phantom 4 (not the pro even) and the client wasn't any less satisfied.
I did one long ago with the Phantom 4 just to see the range, no need after that - I have never been hung up on range. If you have ever flown some of the big systems range for the video doesn't go much more than 1/4 mile or so, everything I do is within several hundred feet, 1/4 mile max (for work that is)
I don't think its the finance for everyone as it is just to big, imagine if the Pro 4 plus was water proof and had two batteries and could switch on camera lenses, I pay $7000 grand just with 4k.
Hi Bill I have just entered the drone arena and I am loving my new hobby. I'm fresh to a UA-cam and just starting to upload content, do you have any tips for me? I'd be grateful for a little advice on how to get my work out there and a sub from you would be great. 👌🏻👍🏻
Can't wait to see the high bit rate footage! Thanks for the video!
Even without post....beautiful!
Holy crap Bill!! That footage looked absolutely incredible in 2160 on my 17" laptop! Can't wait to see what comes out of that bad boy once you really dive into it. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for posting. I received mine last night. Very cool.
awesome

Great bro, got a lot of info that needed for my Inspire 2 from this video and all the best

Love your videos - always interesting and informative. Thanks.
Great first look at the I2. $7K yikes! But, wow the image quality! Superb.
Looking forward to your next video!
great vid bill think i might have to off load some old kit and order one ..keep up the good work
Just got on I’m going to play today
Outstanding, I can't wait to get my X5S
Absolutely fantastic drone but way way out of my financial range! Maybe someday!!
I hope you were able to get it🙏
Very nice, looking forward to getting my Inspire 2 out. Raining here too much :(
We hd that issue for awhile - what id you get your inspire 2?
Got it in late March and unfortunately now a death in the family and too many very windy days have continued to keep me away from flying. Soon...
That's beautiful. Do you post your commercial vids anywhere? I'd like to see your bread and butter work. Thanks!
I am so tempted to purchase this only as a hobby....... The pics were great and it would be fun to learn.........😀😀
As a hobby I would 100% go with the Phantom 4 Pro instead or wait and see what the Phantom 5 brings .
BillNicholsTV agreed

That's some peice of kit

Bill when will you be doing more Inspire 2 footage and what your thoughts are on it now that you have had it a while? Great reviews as always!
Soon - been so buys, but very soon!
I have a P4, but love the lens on the Inspire 2
Both are great :)
Would you mind sharing your style (-1 -1 -1) and color settings
Good job.
Wow! No ND filter?
Not on this flight, have several ND filters that I will be showing though.
That looks like a really great camera on that drone. Looking forward to the ND filter video. I think I need one for my new Phantom 4.
I will probably be moving to FCP actually, continue having critical crash issues with Premiere actually
tripod mode? ty for review !!!
very nice, should be for the money
they nailed it
Nice quality out of the H.264. I am still waiting on my I2 to come in although I only got it with Pro Res for now and opted to get more batteries and accessories. When you do the 5.2k DNG can you also show how it stacks with Pro Res?
Bill, great video. Thanks. What lens do you have attached to the X5S?
In this the stock 15MM F1.7 DJI
Great video!! thanks
Great video! Thank you! I see you use light room to edit your video. Is that the best program to edit video?
I don't use lightroom to edit video, I use it for processing / light editing of images. I use Premiere and DaVinci Resolve for editing video
BillNicholsTV thank you! Love your videos! Keep up the great work!
This was terrific especially as I have an Inspire 1 ..Great job. Also good to hear about the props from DJI ( Inspire 1).. Any idea what's planned for Inspire 2 or 3.. Thanks Simon
2hr transfer? Are you serious?
That is sweet! $7000.00 sure does buy alot
Bill, F11 on M4/3 you are in diffraction territory, I would never go over F5.6 for stills or video especially now that you have. a 20mp sensor.
I'd agree - those little photo sites are getting awfully small...
How small can it be folded to maybe fit into a carry on bag.
I'm a DJI novice, still finding my feet, so find these videos informative and useful-so thanks. My question is who would buy this, over a Phantom 4/Pro etc? Can the drone take images of the aurora at night
Have you had any of the prop/motor issues some others are reporting with the I2, a grinding sound from the red props when installed and spun by hand?
+Joe Cat none at all Joe - I'll update you if it develops
A quick question Bill, am I mistaken or it looked like you were zooming in and out, is that possible in-flight with this lens? Thanks.
Whats the tiny camera thats just above the main camera... whats the footage like with just the tiny camera
its garbage. Its for FPV view in case you want to use it in dual operator mode

I'd agree, UA-cam compression isn't the greatest. I will post the high bit rate 4K to Vimeo and link to it as well.
BillNicholsTV awesome that would be great thank Bill
We all have are dreams this drone is my dream
How loud is this compared to Phantom 4 or Inspire 1 or Matrice 200
What’s battery flight time with the x5s?
Bill question , I just received my i2 this week and I'm hearing that the batteries have to be paired. I'm finding no videos nothing talking about pairing the batteries can you help, thanks in advance

Urban Filming thanks I've been watching your videos like crazy trying to learn what I can before putting it up in the air. Thanks again.

Two more questions: Litche app? Also does Z30 lens work with this? If so how stable is the video zoomed to 7x?
I will make do with the 4Pro, since I'm not a pro who needs it. That said, it is really something...
I think I've found my next drone, you must make a real video, graded and high res I really am impressed.
I think I will order one for the City of Los Angeles.
Thumbs up for Fat Tire!
haha
Do a giveaway for the drone!
What would u charge for 10 photos
I don't discuss pricing publicly -
Wow $7000 dollars I guess if you use it for professional video it is worth it very very nice video incredible machine but for now I will help to keep my phantom 4

Fat tire sucks. Drink better beer. Cheers!
