    Great lesson. We tend to highlight and talk about the "BIG" SINS, but tend to be silent on these sins. These will all cause us to lose our salvation. Not just two

    Like a lot of people do, Scott misquoted Proverbs 16:18. He said "pride comes before a fall." The verse actually says, "Pride comes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall."

      The meaning is close, but not exactly the same. We need to be careful with God's Word when we quote or summarize it.

    Pride is a creature not accepting the Creator's Power and Authority but as I like to say, "Standing on the wrong side of the Judgement Bench!"! In reference to the Prophets statement, God said "Am I not the Potter?".

    Since you plan to discuss people who base their standing with God on what groups they associate with, can you please talk about the Church of Christ denomination in that light? And how they teach themselves as being the only "Lord's church?"
    You also mentioned that you want to discuss people who usurp God's word with their own traditions. In this regard, can you please, again, talk about how the Church of Christ denomination does this by binding the long held tradition of acapella singing as a test of fellowship?

      @RHC3-ls3bk - The church we read about in the New Testament isn’t a denomination, right? I think everyone would agree on that. It is simply the church established by Christ. It is “of” Christ because it “abides in the teaching of Christ” (2 John 9). Denominations were formed later, and divided themselves up, based on teaching different things that were contrary to scripture. Read 1 Corinthians 1:10-13. The inspired apostle wrote there that there should be no divisions among us, and that we should all speak the same thing. He asks in verse 13, “is Christ divided?” The answer, of course, is no - Christ is not divided. So there are no denominations (divisions) in the body of Christ. If someone is part of a denomination, they are not part of the body of Christ (because Christ is not divided). So, you can see the New Testament only teaches of one church. We can be that church by reading what the apostles taught that one church to do (by the authority of Christ). If we seek Bible authority for our worship practices and the organization of the church, then we are being that church for which Christ died. The church of Christ has no denominational manual, creed book, catechism, or confession. We have no earthly headquarters or convention or worldwide governing committee. Our head is Christ, and our only guide in the practice of our faith is the Holy Bible. Following the biblical pattern, each local assembly of Christ’s church is shepherded by elders (plural), who are chosen by the local congregation based on the qualifications given in scripture. Each congregation is autonomous in their leadership, just like in the New Testament. The authentic church of Christ is not a denomination, nor are we non-denominational - We are PRE-denominational, meaning we are the church that existed on the day Peter preached the first gospel sermon at Pentecost, before anyone ever thought of forming a denomination (division). We can use any biblical name - not just “the church of Christ.” Being the Lord’s church depends solely on abiding in His teaching. That is how we identify who is and is not the church of Christ, which is a description, and not necessarily the only name of an assembly of Christians. The Christians with whom I assemble (and many others) use the name “church of Christ” because it seems most fitting, since the church is the bride of Christ, and it’s most fitting for a bride to wear the name of husband. The name is biblical, too. It is taken from Romans 16:16. If the New Testament Christians could call themselves that, then according to their example, it would be right for us, too. But the church was also called “the Way,” “the pillar and ground of truth,” “the body of Christ,” “the church of God,” and other names. The point is that anyone can call themselves by these names, but to authentically BE the church that Christ established, we must look to scripture and follow the teaching, example, and pattern of His apostles (Philippians 3:16-17). If a church is doing that without adding to it or taking away from it, then that is the church of Christ. If you want to know more about that, then contact the men who made this video.

      @brettcarter6189 You said, "We are PRE-denominational, meaning we are the church that existed on the day Peter preached the first gospel sermon at Pentecost..."
      I thought the Church of Christ denomination was one of the names that branched out of the restoration movement in the 19th century, some 1,800 years after Pentecost. It followed the Stone/Campbell movement, did it not?

    • @RHC3-ls3bk
      @RHC3-ls3bk 2 місяці тому +1

      @brettcarter6189 Also, Acts 2 is not the body of Christ. Peter was committed the gospel of the circumcision (Jews). This was the gospel of the Kingdom. Paul was committed the gospel of the uncircumcision (Gentiles), or as it is also referred to as, the Gospel of the grace of God.
      Galatians 2:6-7
      Ephesians 3:1-9
      Being "in Christ" was one of the mysteries revealed to Paul much later than Acts 2.

    • @brettcarter6189
      @brettcarter6189 2 місяці тому +1

      @RHC3-ls3bk - That’s incorrect. As I said before, we are not a denomination, and we didn’t branch out if anything (unlike the Protestant denominations, which branched out of the already corrupt Roman Catholic Church upon a movement to “reform” it).
      The church of Christ existed in the United States and Europe, (and elsewhere) before the restoration movement ever started, and of course before the Protestant reformation, which we were not part of because we pre-dated it by over a millennia.
      The restoration movement you referred to was nothing more than an effort among American Christians to call people out of denominations and promote the unity that Christ prayed for, based on adherence to the scriptures alone, and the rejection of all human creeds and manuals (which the denominations all have, but which authentic christians do not have, as I mentioned before).
      There is evidence to prove that the authentic church of Christ existed in the United States long before the restoration movement. The best evidence is from a book called “A History of the Rise and Progress of the Baptists in Virginia”, in which they mention members of the church of Christ in their area, and describe their beliefs.
      There is also a book called “Traces of the Kingdom” which documents the church of Christ in Europe and their persecution at the hands of the Roman Catholic Church during the Middle Ages. It is well-documented. Many of the sources for the book come from the records of the Roman Catholic Church.
      Unlike the denominations, the church of Christ can come into existence anywhere that people study the New Testament and adhere to what it teaches. The Bible alone makes Christians (Romans 10:17). The denominations can only be replicated by teaching what is in their creed books. A Baptist manual makes baptists, but not Methodists or Presbyterians. A Presbyterian confession makes Presbyterians, but not Baptists or Methodists. But the Bible makes Christians. Teaching with the Bible alone will not result in Baptists, Methodists, or Presbyterians. That’s the point of what the restoration movement was about. They weren’t saying “leave your denomination and join mine.” They were saying “leave all denominations and just be Christians - nothing more, nothing less.”

    How would You come in contact with Christ precious blood

    • @brettcarter6189
      @brettcarter6189 2 місяці тому +1

      @user-qv8ex8pu8f - Good question. Think on this: Where was Jesus’ blood shed for us? At His death, right? So, if we read Roman’s 6:3, we see Paul writing, “Do you not know that as many of you as were baptized into Christ were baptized into His death?” So in baptism, we are in Christ’s death, and therefore we are with His blood; and our sins are being “washed away” by it (Acts 22:16). If we “walk in the light,” His blood continues to cleanse us (1 John 1:7). So our first contact with Christ’s blood is when we are “buried with him in baptism” (to use a phrase from Colossians 2:12), and we remain in contact with His blood as long as we walk in the light (or in other words, “abide in the teaching of Christ” 2 John 9). I hope that was helpful.

      @brettcarter6189 The word baptism in Romans is never about water. Here's an example that might help:
      In Acts 2 (Peter)
      • Another person does the baptizing (the baptizer)
      • The element is water
      • It is done to our physical bodies
      • It is a work of man
      In 1 Cor 12:13 for example (Paul)...
      • The Holy Spirit does the baptizing (the baptizer)
      • The element is Christ's body
      • It is done to our spiritual bodies
      • It is a work of God

    • @brettcarter6189
      @brettcarter6189 2 місяці тому

      @RHC3-ls3bk - If Romans 6:3-5 is not water baptism, but only having to do with a sort of transformation done by the Holy Spirit alone without any act of obedience, then how is it a burial? Immersion in water is consistent with representing a burial - just like the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8 went down into the water with Philip.
      Romans 6:5 speaks of being “united with Him in the likeness of His death” and then “in the likeness of His resurrection.” This is also consistent with immersion and subsequent emergence from the water - a burial and resurrection.
      It is by submitting to that act that we “obey the gospel” (2 Thessalonians 1:8) - the gospel being the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. Not only that, but if you read further in Romans 6, you see Paul write in verse 17 that these people he was writing to had been “obedient from the heart to that form of teaching” to which they were committed. What were they taught? In Acts 2:37, they had asked what to do, and Peter told them in verse 38 to repent and be baptized. They had learned that day what they must do to be saved. It was THAT form of teaching to which they had become obedient from the heart because it was the only teaching the Holy Spirit taught the apostles regarding salvation.
      So these saved Romans to whom Paul was writing had heard the gospel, they believed it, they had repented, they had confessed Christ as Lord, and they had obeyed the gospel (immersed in water for the forgiveness of sins).
      Regarding 1 Corinthians 12:13, it’s best to let the Bible interpret itself. See 1 John 5:6-8:
      6 This is the One who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood. It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. 7 For there are three that testify: 8 the Spirit and the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.

    Pride is Vain selfish Glory!
    Pride is taught more in the Old Testament than the New. Unfortunately, people don’t read the Old as much and don’t learn about this, that does send people to Hell…….😫
    It is also the worshipping of the work of our own hands, especially those that make idols to worship or admire as accomplishing it in our own power, when in fact, our Creator gives us every bit of power we are able to do anything in, be it good or evil. It is ingrained in children from school days, all the way up into College, teaching children their so proud of them for an accomplishment they did and leaves God totally OUT of the conversation! 😢 😢 😢
    Pride of Life, is bigger than self exaltation, it is also in police departments, Fire departments, medical fields and even National. We must be Glorifying Jesus for every Good thing and Noble thing that happens!!! No one is good but God. We become Good through Him. Not even God is Proud! No Pride in Heaven at all.
    I almost went to Hell, thought I had been a Christian all my life and I was shocked when King Jesus Spoke to me that I was going to have to go to Hell for Pride and a few more sins………..as I was being held down and tormented on the floor by a force I could not see with my eyes, pulling me strongly DOWN!!!!
    😳 😫 🔥 😱💀😱 🔥 😫 😳
    I rarely read the Word Of God, even tho I went to church on and off and didn’t even know demons were holding me down on the floor!
    Jesus told me to go get the Old Family Dictionary and look it up. He made the devils get off me, as went to move to go do as He Asked! As an artist, I had definitely felt that Pride when I finished a piece and was convicted and humbled to Repent!!! 😫 I now give Him, ALL THE GLORY, HONOR AND PRAISE, for everything He LETS me accomplish in His Power, Amen!
    So great you did this video Brothers!!! ❤❤❤
    Jesus Bless and Protect you and your families from evil

      @RHC3-ls3bk - If someone “trusts in the gospel” then wouldn’t they obey it if they want to be saved (2 Thessalonians 1:8)? Wouldn’t they do “the will of my Father who is in heaven” if they want to enter the Kingdom of God (Matthew 7:21)?

    • @RHC3-ls3bk
      @RHC3-ls3bk 2 місяці тому +1

      @brettcarter6189 Are you trying to argue that we need to perform some kind of work, act, deed, or thing done in order to be saved?
      Here is the gospel:
      1 Corinthians 15:
      1 - Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
      2 - By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
      3 - For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
      4 - And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.
      This gospel is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes.
      The scripture you bring up in Matthew is about the Kingdom, not the body of Christ. Mixing the gospel of the kingdom and the gospel of grace creates false doctrine and is why we have denominations.
