Also as doctors they can just run the test and say they’re just checking for everything.

I have a friend working as ob-gyn, and she tells me the percentage of women getting std or sti from cheating partners is astonishing, and they would lie about it too, like saying they got high risk HPV from swimming pool or towels when it is basically impossible to get it like that.
Question for any medical staff in the comments, would it not be legally required for the doctors to inform the pregnant wife of those findings? She's at high risk of being infected and since it is a risk to her and the baby, aren't the doctors legally bound to inform her? Like when you catch a certain virus or bacterial infection and thus your partner and/or family is informed because of the possibility they might be infected?
Remember they said Zika was so new, it’s not covered by law. HIPAA is a strong beast. You’d definitely have to err on the side of not having your hospital be sued and your license yanked.
I guess you could warn her that she may have contracted the illness, without telling her who could have given it to her. She can come to her own conclusions based on that information. But I am no medical staff nor lawyer, so do not take my word for it at all. It's just what I've seen other people write.
That man disgusted me. It’s one thing to cheat on your wife, it’s a very different thing when you would go so far as to let your child die to keep it a secret. I would have told the mother, confidentiality be damned. That baby’s life is worth more than my job.
"Not risking my marriage. " So you rather risk your unborn child and your wife. I would have liked to known her response when the CDC doctor told her everything.
I love that she would have risked trouble to tell n keep her patient safe. I love even more that the male was able to find a loophole where the husband had to come clean, without any risk to his license. The husband deserves whatever the outcome is from his cheating
No one that's willing to risk your health and life loves you. Sadly, this happens so often and I don't understand why you would want to marry someone just to go and cheat. Separate or stay single...it's not that hard🙄
Incorrect. If it involves the health and safety of others patient confidentiality is mute. By law, if he told that woman and tested her, he would be doing his job and the case would be dismissed or even turned on the husband. Disgusting man that he is.
Actually, they did do it the legal way. Since Zika is a fairly new disease, the CDC would have to be notified. Especially if tests come back inconclusive.
This isn't true. HIPAA laws are extremely strict. Even aids patients are kept confidential and when their contacts are warned they never tell them who they could have caught it from. Only tell them to get tested. They can test the wife for zika but they can't tell her about her husband's positive test at all.
Um, not quite. But he could say "I heard about a case in Walla Walla, let's just run a Zika panel-just in case." Absolute worst case scenario insurance refuses to pay. But she WILL be positive and that backs up the differential DX.
So he supposedly did a lot of research how to break a patient-doctor confidentiality in that case and then comes up with like the most obvious solution only a few days later. What a great writing
Sadly this sort of thing is so common. During my med school training I came across a patient who had an std which he had contracted while his wife was pregnant. They would both come into the GP practice together (him for developments on the std and her for routine pregnancy checkups) but he would make sure they saw the doctor privately. She was completely unaware, luckily she hadn’t contracted it from him.
@@542pixie1 I couldn't. We have to maintain patient confidentiality. His GP had encouraged him to let his wife know but again that is up to the patient to reveal. I felt for her so badly.
The amount of married men that approached me while working in a sex club was insane. Ladies, get yourself or your men for a routine test if there’s any doubt.
Well if you kno u have an std and don't tell your partner that is illegal. You are required by law to contact any recent partners to inform them of your test results if it is positive or inconclusive. Either way, could've just suggested to the woman to get tested without telling her ab her husband's test results.
Thats how my aunt found out her hubbie was cheating because he refused to sleep with her while pregnant. It turned out he had gonoherrea. At least he wasnt dumb enough to sleep with her and risk her pregnancy. She divorced him with two kids aged 3 and 4 and her new born.

Honestly I’m really glad that in Utah if you get an std they report you to the health department. Some women/men are not honest & don’t bother telling their sexual partners
The man is cheating on his wife and says he’s not risking his marriage. He did that when he started his affair. Does this guy realize how stupid he sounds right now?
What's bad about this is a lot of these chows have a slice of life to it. Some truth/fact in the world. Cases like this have happened. Question is, how often is justice served and the victim gets closure if not a happy ending?
@@emilywilliams363 Right so they, too, can't just start revealing to each other their patients' diagnosis or medical background without consent. I remember when I was 18, my family had the same doctor and because he knew all of us I told him I didn't want him to let my dad know that I was doing a pregnancy test. Our doctor said of course not. Anyway, I don't practice medicine so, again, I'm not sure.
Doctors can talk to each other about patients, but only quietly together. I work in a lab, we always have to brainstorm together if we have something weird, especially if it deals with bioterrorism organisms.
Every time you get medical assistance at a hospital they open your file and if you refuse to receive treatment or screening suggested by the doctor, you have to sign a waiver. I'd have taken the waiver to his wife's room and let it progress. A "since you refused to get tested for what we think could be making you sick, you need to sing this before you leave" kinda casual thing.
He deserves all that is coming to him. Even the thorns from those roses he suddenly bought her and she throws them in his face when she hears the truth. Ooh!...

Remember they said Zika was so new, it’s not covered by law. HIPAA is a strong beast. You’d definitely have to err on the side of not having your hospital be sued and your license yanked.
At times it’s a very complicated legal and ethical kerfuffle
I guess you could warn her that she may have contracted the illness, without telling her who could have given it to her. She can come to her own conclusions based on that information. But I am no medical staff nor lawyer, so do not take my word for it at all. It's just what I've seen other people write.
That man disgusted me. It’s one thing to cheat on your wife, it’s a very different thing when you would go so far as to let your child die to keep it a secret. I would have told the mother, confidentiality be damned. That baby’s life is worth more than my job.
I feel so bad for the woman, she honestly looks so sweet and doesn’t deserve this bs
"Not risking my marriage. "
So you rather risk your unborn child and your wife. I would have liked to known her response when the CDC doctor told her everything.
The kid, his wife, and probably several other people if another mosquito bit him and then bit someone else.
He's a walking ghost. Why did they let him stay in that room
Some folks just don't care about other people's health
That’s the worst ultrasound ever 😂
😂😂😂
Incorrect. If it involves the health and safety of others patient confidentiality is mute. By law, if he told that woman and tested her, he would be doing his job and the case would be dismissed or even turned on the husband. Disgusting man that he is.
Unfortunately, that’s not true.
But he could say
"I heard about a case in Walla Walla, let's just run a Zika panel-just in case."
Absolute worst case scenario insurance refuses to pay.
But she WILL be positive and that backs up the differential DX.
I think you meant "moot". Irrelevant. Mute means silent.
“your color is a bit off” A BIT!?!? MY MANS IS G R E Y.
Cheating on a pregnant wife should be illegal and wives should be able to press charges.
She a real one cuz she probably was risking her job to tell a fellow homegirl her man ain’t shit 😂
So he supposedly did a lot of research how to break a patient-doctor confidentiality in that case and then comes up with like the most obvious solution only a few days later. What a great writing
The dude shows up to a hospital Grey and doesn’t expect doctors to question🤣
If House is here --> "Who invite Mr. Ghost here? We don't need to scare the fetus into the world early."
Natalie is gone risk it all every single time 😂😂😂😂😂
he risked his marriage the second he decided to cheat. the only thing he’s risking now is the wife and baby’s life
This husband is disgusting 🤢🤮
This video scares me. Why do people even cheat. Like what is wrong with you?
Yep i agree
Dont cheat
"You look a little pale"
Me: He look like he just crawled out of a grave.
🤣😭
Sadly this sort of thing is so common. During my med school training I came across a patient who had an std which he had contracted while his wife was pregnant. They would both come into the GP practice together (him for developments on the std and her for routine pregnancy checkups) but he would make sure they saw the doctor privately. She was completely unaware, luckily she hadn’t contracted it from him.
U shudv told her
@@542pixie1 I couldn't.
Not risking your marriage?
Already done pal you're unfaithful
Now your child's at risk
Makes me so mad
Well if you kno u have an std and don't tell your partner that is illegal. You are required by law to contact any recent partners to inform them of your test results if it is positive or inconclusive. Either way, could've just suggested to the woman to get tested without telling her ab her husband's test results.
Thats how my aunt found out her hubbie was cheating because he refused to sleep with her while pregnant. It turned out he had gonoherrea. At least he wasnt dumb enough to sleep with her and risk her pregnancy. She divorced him with two kids aged 3 and 4 and her new born.
I just love how the doc got all this info of the baby all in 5 seconds 😆 🤣
That’s what I would have said “because of this scare it would be recommended for your health and the health of your baby to abstain from sexual activity” bam
It’s disgusting that people use HIPAA protection like this
Thank you for spelling it correctly. So many people think it's spelled like hippo.
I'm half convinced it got passed so politicians could hide their health records.
“Not risking my marriage” you did that when you cheated my guy. He got Zeke virus and doesn’t want his wife to get tested for it despite the fact she’s carrying his child! The fact he told the doctor to not tell his wife about a disease he has..how dare he risk spreading it to her
Basically he doesn’t care about her or the baby he’s cheating on her yet won’t test her cuz she’ll find out the truth
He’s literally knocking on deaths door and not telling his wife he cheat is all he’s concerned about? That’s the least of his worries! 🙃
Honestly I’m really glad that in Utah if you get an std they report you to the health department. Some women/men are not honest & don’t bother telling their sexual partners
Doesnt want to risk his marriage? Bs. He literally had an affair yet now he cares?!
They wasn't letting her leave without knowing. They some good people.
Her husband is a creep
It's a matter of Public Health ...privacy is no longer an issue.
Prayers for the baby and mother.
Not the point and I could be wrong, but didn't he already breach confidentiality when he told Natalie about his patient's info?
No as they are both doctors bound by the same oaths.
@@AM-reacts they can in private amongst the medical staff it just mustn't leave them without consent outside of their professional set up
It would be a consultation among medical colleagues
Doctors can talk to each other about patients, but only quietly together. I work in a lab, we always have to brainstorm together if we have something weird, especially if it deals with bioterrorism organisms.
Buddy looks like the type of guy who will push his wife into the zombies way to save his own life
Every time you get medical assistance at a hospital they open your file and if you refuse to receive treatment or screening suggested by the doctor, you have to sign a waiver. I'd have taken the waiver to his wife's room and let it progress. A "since you refused to get tested for what we think could be making you sick, you need to sing this before you leave" kinda casual thing.
I didn't know this show existed lol I'm hooked just watching this short episode, 😅 I'll have to watch from episode one lol
I feel so bad for the wife. She seems very sweet & he wants to risk her health & their baby’s health as well
His "color is off", he "looks a bit pale"?????
THAT IS A CORPSE
So cheating is acceptable but not you telling on me due to health issues smh
A LITTLE PALE BROS A GHOST
so he's a lawyer yet he doesnt know that not telling your partner about a possible std is a criminal offense?
Sure the doc can't say -why- they are testing for Zika but he definitely has a responsibility to test for it no matter what the husband says
He deserves all that is coming to him. Even the thorns from those roses he suddenly bought her and she throws them in his face when she hears the truth. Ooh!...
Can’t the doctor still test the wife, “just keep his mouth shut” about it?
DAMN he called the FEDs on that idiot.
I’m sorry what… so you don’t want to risk your marriage but you’re willing to risk your babies life? The math ain’t mathing 💀
There aren't very many doctors who would risk their license for a patient's well being.
I love how the ER has the CDC on speed dial and they just show up when called. 🙄🙄🙄
If I was the doctor and put in the whole “tell my wife that I was cheating and I’ll go after you for breaking HIPPA” scenario…I would’ve put a note in the patient’s folder about what happened.
That dude is a real slime for threatening the docs to keep his affair a secret.
This is why if I’m ever getting pregnant I’m running a full panel every month, you just can’t trust men, ever.
