❓ What Do You Want To See Me Cook On It??? ❓ - *Comment Below!*
I'd say the usuals just to see how it compares (ribs, brisket, pork butt, etc)... Also a pallet smoker/Kamado comparison.
I’ll be knocking out some of those soon!🍻
How could I resist subbing to you!!!
Great content, came for the pizza's stayed for the rest!
Kepp up the great work
Thanks so much! 🍻
This is the BEST video I’ve seen on this so far. I’m a newbie and this video really helped me
Awesome, happy to help! I also have Kamado 101 playlists that will be helpful as well. 🍻
Looks like an awesome cooker. Definitely want to see you put it through it's paces.
Thank you sir. Lots of videos coming! 🍻
Lol I left the camera going when I lifted mine just in case it went horribly wrong
Haha. Now that would have made for an interesting video 😂. 🍻
The Konnected Joe looks very nice. It would be nice to have access to the temperatures of the Kamado Joe from a cell phone. Hopefully they will produce a Big Joe version of the Konnected Joe also. Definitely appears to be the future of charcoal grilling.
Actually it has an app! I had issues with the recording and lost the app video. I will be showing that soon! Thanks for watching 🍻
Holy crap, that is definitely something I would want in my arsenal.
It’s on pre order now! 🍻
Have never been interested in those of cooker until now. Can’t wait until you start cooking on it. Do you know when they will be on the market?
They are pre-order now, but I expect they should start shipping soon. They haven’t shared those details with me yet. I’ll be doing more cooks soon! 🍻
That is a sweet pit. My next pot maybe
Thank you sir! 🍻
Fascinating! What did the Connected Joe use as fuel to start the FOGO charcoal you filled it with?
I know the flames & air come out of the bottom.
Fire can normally be made by combining some fuel with oxygen. It's not like you had a handful of starter pellets. Is it DIPER HEATED air that ignites the charcoal?
The coil glows red and heats up. Then a fan stokes the fire and helps control the cook. Similar to how a Looft lighter would work. 🍻
Great video. I just bought one this week and even though the Konnected Joe turns on, once I turn the AFS on, it trips my GFCI. It's driving me nuts! I tried different outlets and have the same result. It might be a defective one. I know I can use it in classic mode but it defeats the purpose of the Konnected Joe. Watching all your videos to get up to speed. Thanks!
I’d double check with KJ support. I know the first AFS systems had that issue but they replaced the element and fixed the problem. Hope this helps. 🍻
Congradulations Jake. Kamato Joe Starting to get pricey for most.
Thank you sir. Lots of tech there, but if you don’t need it a regular Classic II will do the trick. 🍻
Awesome pit….I can’t wait to see what you think of the set it and forget it kamado….
Thank you sir! 🍻
Now I want one.😂
Hah pre order is open 😜🍻
Interesting. In my case LOL my significant other will walk away from it after it beeps back at her a few times :) Don't think it is all there yet to convert non-BBq inclined folks but getting close!
LOL I’m not convinced it will work. My wife hates cooking, but she might try to use it haha. 🍻
@@RumandCook 😄
I'm concerned about the longevity and reliability of the electronics since this will be stored outside even though it will be covered. I also wonder how the plastic will hold up over time.
Many pellet grills sit outside and have electronics without issue. I see posts of Yoders that are many years old and don’t have an issue, mine is only 2 years but works like a charm.
There isn’t much plastic, mostly metal. 🍻
@@RumandCook That's a good point. I checked on the website and their warranty is 3 years on the electronics and 5 years on the metal, which inspires some confidence.
@Rum and Cook The pellet manufacturers handle failures by mailing the customer new controller boards or whatever they think will be a fix. Basically, they shotgun with parts. It still follows that removable electronics would be more reliable. There was probably a debate when designing it.
@Rum and Cook The Calrod heating element was another decision point. I personally would have opposed it and used heated air instead to do the job more reliably. However KJ may have other reasons. Perhaps the ring pattern is crucial for setting initial fire.
There are screws on the outside, and the element is replaceable by removing two nuts. I expect KJ will send parts and allow end user replacement as well. I know a magnet instead of switch controls the lid option.
Only time will tell how it will hold up, but most parts look accessible so far. 🍻
If you close the front airvent how does the fan get enough air to stoke the fire? Can you preserve charcoal when done with the cook? In other words will it seal to suffocate charcoal? Thanks in advance!
It sucks air from the bottom. If you close the top vent you can shut it down though and save charcoal. 🍻
@@RumandCook Would you mind showing us the air holes on the bottom in one of your videos? I'm guessing they are small, otherwise the charcoal would keep on burning after shut down.
The holes are actually under the fan unit itself. I just checked. I can tell you I’ve closed it down 4 times so far and saved charcoal no problem. 🍻
@@RumandCook That's some pretty good manufacturing. Normally a Kamado will want to draft air like a chimney, but I guess the top lid vent and lid seals are so good that it (Kamado) doesn't move air.
Yep. The only thing I noticed is if you open it too soon you can start it up again :). I just keep it closed when I am done and cover once cooled off. 🍻
How do you feel about the Konnected Joe so far? Good for a first time buyer?
It Works well. They are still dialing in the software to keep improving it, but it’s easy to use and holds temps well in automatic or manual mode. 🍻
Congratulations on your new toy. They ought to send you a SloRoller so you can run it head to head against Komodo.
Thanks! Not sure if that’s compatible or not, but I will find out! 🍻
I hope you aren't giving up on your Komodo Kamado.
Not sure what the plan is right now. Only have so much room lol. 🍻
@@RumandCook you need a bigger boat!💪💪😃
Pretty cool.
Haha true that! 🍻
Nothing else like this on the market...?? Char-Grill literally has the Acorn "Auto-Kamado"...😂😂. Nice vid, but don't lie to the people...
My bad I was not aware that was out. 🍻
