Huge Ghost fan; just found your channel. Your lessons are simple, straight forward, and to the point. No gimmicks, no dumb UA-cam Face thumbnails. You're great, dude. Can't wait to watch your channel blow up
The UA-cam faces to show up from time to time, but I hate them just as much as everyone else lol. Gotta play the game sometimes tho what can ya do? I’m glad you found the channel, welcome!!!
I'm a young ghost fan, and I'm trying to have the notes in mind for when I have a guitar. I really wanna be a ghoulette in their band when I'm older, so this helped a lot!:D
As beginner guitarist and huge ghost fan, this is just what I was looking for. I noodling around with some scales and stumbled on a “WTF did I just play?” moment. Then I found your channel and sure as shit, I was on to something. You helped me hone that “wtf” moment. Ghost rocks.
hey, huge ghost fan here, however i cannot read tabs for the life of me and i rely pretty much entirely on tutorials and finding chords by ear. i am VERY glad to have found this vid because i somehow managed to learn (i say learn but nobody taught me, if they did i wouldnt be in this mess) almost this whole song, with the correct sound, but completely fucked technique, so i’m gonna try and retcon that HAHA just. placing a band-aid over a fucking TRAINWRECK here, don’t mind me. ANWAY, i’ll be subscribing! usually trying to understand ANY kind of explanation of tabs leaves me with a migraine, but i notice there’s none with you, and you have a little more of a ‘show’ than a ‘tell’ approach, which i can definitely appreciate. it helps a lot, genuinely. i am VERY tired! will update later, i guess :’]
Hey sorry I totally missed this comment but thank you for the support! I’ve always tried to approach my lessons as if the viewer had booked a one on one lesson with me. That’s how I would want to be taught and I’m glad it seems to help people out. I’ll probably add tabs in future lessons, but they’ll just be in addition to this format already!
This is good thank you! After me and my friend seen ghost live in August we decided to make a band but neither of us know guitar so tutorials like this are helping us learn!
Happy you found the channel! I’m gonna implement tabs in the next bath of lessons I have coming out. Been a slow few weeks just cuz of life and what not but there’s more tutorials coming out in the near future!
Update: after practising that riff everyday, I can play it kinda decently, like maybe a 7/10. Thanks for believing in me! Now onto learn the rest of the song
You'll get there eventually! Have you ever heard of the Spider Scale exercise? If not it's essentially going 1-2-3-4 on each string (tho it doesn't matter which frets you use as long as they're all next to each other). This tends to help my students of all finger sizes increase their strength in their left hand, so maybe try working on that for a little bit? Plus the main riff is literally in that Spider Scale box, so it'll make it even easier to play! Hope this stuff helps and best of luck!
I do not have the full song tabbed out unfortunately. There seems to be pretty popular demand for that so I’m going to start working on it, check back soon. In the mean time, my “5 easy ghost riffs” video has a pinned comment that will bring you to some tabs for a few ghost riffs, including the main riff for square hammer. It’s not the full song, but hopefully it’ll help to some degree
This was all recorded with the Bias Amp plug-in. There’s another video on this channel where I walk thru making that exact tone. Working on a video about how to dial in the ghost tone with a couple of amps, one of them being an orange crush. So far, I’d recommend using less gain and more mids and having a humbuckers in the bridge position of your guitar!
@@aspen_equestrian610 nah, im not going to waste time watching him when all he really does is take credit for everything, i will still listen to ghost and he still has a good voice
@@WilliamHill-kz8ql its not rocket science, he just comes up with stupid shit and the members make it a whole lot better. Thanks for the little comment tho
Just keep practicing and you'll get it :). The main riff can feel tricky but is actually a great exercise for guitar in itself. "Easy" is probably more for intermediate players onwards. For beginners it's a great song to start practicing as there are not too many parts to remember, but a few tricky stretches that will really help with your playing. Maybe don't bother with the solo until more confident and you can play the rhythm straight through without issue. Another good one to start on is Cirice. Sounds heavy as anything but isn't too tricky.

Awesome dude, glad to hear the video helped you out 🤘
I had never heard of this band before subscribing to this channel. Their stuff is really good.

Glad to hear you’ve become a fan, Matt!
Well you've definately came to the right place being a new Ghost fan
I'm so disappointed yet excited that I am just now finding this video!! Thank you for making and sharing this with all of us!! 🤘🤘

Actually better in the long term to learn things by ear, especially chords and stuffs.

Happy to hear it's a helpful lesson, have fun playing!
Great lesson :)
I'd be cool to learn the bonus tracks like "Here comes the Sun", "Avalanche" etc.
That is a great idea Ivo! Might be a hot take, but I think Ghost does “Here Comes The Sun” better than The Beatles 🤷🏻♂️
@@LukeKeeganN Crucified is definitely one of their best covers. It would also slap live if they ever decided to throw it in the set
@@NickPerezMusic I couldn't agree more!
you should do some blue oyster cult
Just stumbled upon your page - love the ghost lessons, best on UA-cam and easy to follow.
Welcome aboard, Leon! Glad the lessons are helpful
i'm not quick to say this but this is actually so helpfull
happy to hear!
Awesome! I was looking for a channel that teach everything Ghost including guitar tones!
Also some tabs could be a great addition
Keep rocking!

New to Ghost!! Great Video -Thanks
Hell yea! Any favorite Ghost songs so far?
It sounjds like 'Message in a bottle' by the police.. I liked your video. Thanks.
Happy playing!
Amazing guide!
I’m a complete beginner and I’m wondering how do people learn how to strum?
I under stand the frets but never the strumming
Lots of counting until you can start naturally hearing it in songs. I’ll do a full video on this
@@NickPerezMusic yes please I’d really appreciate that :)
Love the content
I have such short fingers and it’s such a pain to play

Do you have this tabbed out at all? I’m like brand new and I’m having trouble figuring out when you just throw out D power chord. Help!

What did you say about the E string at 1:37? Spouses like 7th from the E string?
That song is so catchy. I want to learn it on my Federal Strat. Thank you for your lesson.
Happy playing, hope the lesson helps!
what amp do you use ? i can’t get my amp to get that sound i have a orange crush 35Rt and a fender mustang LT 25

How does one tune down to d standard?
ua-cam.com/video/JXv-Jaj4wbQ/v-deo.html
They most likely made the song simple for tobias because we all know he doesnt know how to play guitar(btw your really good)❤
Simple but effective!
100% sure he knows how to play guitar 😂 dude basically played his whole life, check out videos of repungant, with him as mary goore playing guitar
Tobias wrote the song

When playing the power cords do u play only one of the two chords that ur holding down or both. I’m new to guitar so I have no idea
Quick Power Chord Tip #shorts
its your style
whats is the tuning?
92.7% of Ghost songs are in D Standard! 👻🔨 #shorts
Off. The tuning is off. By a mile.
You forgot the important pull off in the main riff!!!!
I still don’t understand DANGIT
Tune your guitar bro. Nice video, but holy hell lol
Yea.....it got a new nut shortly after this was filmed lmao what can ya do
Idk man. If this is easy then I suck.
