Hiking alone from Muker to Keld || Waterfall Adventure!

- Today we venture to a tiny village of Muker, tucked away in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. With a fast flowing river to follow all the way to Keld, stopping off to explore waterfalls, derelict buildings, and watch the baby lambs spring and dance around.
I lost my microphone half way round so apologies again for the wind noises 🤭 and bad sound. I must invest in a better non wired mic. Have you got any recommendations?

Awesome video, and that’s why I don’t stay on campsite unless it’s last ditch option, I just wild camp 🏕️, or book an bed and breakfast lol , see ya on the next one ☝️
Second night I had the place to myself...just bad luck for a Saturday night I suppose. But yes. Small remote campsites are the best 👌🏻

Another beautiful video Lilu, the scenery is stunning. Reference to the birds dancing, they sounded like the call of the oyster catcher, look a bit like a gull but have long bright orange beaks and legs.

I think the birds you heard near the beginning by the river were members of the Tern family - quite "delicate" looking birds with a distinctive call .The walk looks great and the waterfalls were a real bonus - hope the drone survived it's slight misadventure , you did well to manage flying it back to dry land !! Loved this one! There's a campsite in Keld which you can just turn up at, and they accept car campers. This is always my go to - it's my favourite place!

Stunning circular walk lilu, some good spots for wildcamping too, some of them woods near the river with moss,lyceum etc could be a sml section of what they call temperate rain forest, normally found on the western side of the country, but we're there's steep valleys, water, waterfalls etc ,can come across sml sections, there's some really cool books on the subject, good health and safe travels, cheers craig

Great area for walking. Have you ever been to Thornton Force? A waterfall you can get round the back of. Well worth a visit.

That looks like a really good walk with lots of interesting things to see and some really stunning views. Crack Pot Hall is well worth a look. I visited it when I did the Coast to Coast Walk back in 2014 and it doesn't look as if it has changed in 10 years! Have a look at the Outdoor Research Helium II waterproof jacket. It's a really lightweight (about 6 ozs) waterproof jacket that packs down really small. Also, it's not too expensive. Always worth packing a waterproof jacket especially if you're wearing a down jacket and there's a chance of a downpour. If I have to sleep on an unlevel site, I have to sleep with my head higher than my feet otherwise I feel awful. That said, sleeping on an unlevel site is pretty difficult with modern materials as they are so slippery, e.g., silpoly or silnylon.....I end up sliding all over the place! Great video despite sound and drone problems. Cheers. Ken

😁👍 hiya Lilu, watched this lastnight and it was great to see all the waterfalls in good flow. I did the same route lastyear and wildcamped at the old abandoned mill by the stream.. Shame about the rowdy offroaders but hopefully you'll have a better camp next time. Highly recommend this hiking route to anyone 😁👍

Loved them waterfalls! I hope the drone is ok and its nothing more than a couple of broken props. If you're using a GoPro for your video recording, you can get a thing called Media Mod which should cut out a lot of the wind noise. Its about the best you can get without plugging in a wired, dedicated mic.
I use a Sony zv1 canera with wired mic...I just lost it half way round after unclipped it. I also use my galaxy s21 but no mic...I Nedd to get the sound sorted. Really frustrating. Thanks for the tips 😀
@@AdventuresWithLilu Can't help with the Sony but a Lavelier Wireless mic will be great for the phone. Not expensive either at around £12-£15 on that 'Prime' shopping site. 🙂

That was fun. Any damn fool can love a woman, the point is, of course, to like them. A lot of men forget that. If you have done nothing else, and you have done much more, you have fired up my wish to go walking again. I recall, just before covid, walking an urban river and seeing, for the first time in my life, a kingfisher. There was a shock of beauty redolent of love. I have made you an honorary muse. It implies no responsibility on your part. I have two already, I call them A muse and B muse but not to their faces because, as I have said before, I am not a complete idiot. Life is a journey, sometimes it rains. We hope to learn something along the way. I am a Spurs fan so I may be being overly optimistic here. Regards to a fellow traveller and I trust a happy camper.
As far as waterfalls go I saw, I think it is called, Hardraw Force, that Robin Hood movie featured fall. By strange happenstance an old school friend was babysitting the nearby hotel at the time, I didn't even know such things were possible. We stayed and were fed for free. As the old Dire Straits song almost has it. "Money for nothing, and your chips for free".

I set off 10.30 ish...was back at the car by 3pm but I take AGES faffing about lol its about 6-7 mile circular
