Took an old clutch plate and disc , drilled 4 holes, and riveted them together, put them in the clutch basket, to hold the works tight when torquing the clutch nut, if you don't have the tool to hold it.
The only "issue" is the oil fill hole is behind the fairing a little so have to take that bolt out to change the oil. Otherwise, everything is bolt on, long as you change the full transmission.
@DeWoodysShop thank you! All parts are ordered. This is way better than dropping 1000 on a yoyodyne. Should help tremendously at the track. Great work man.
@@AlunChurcher Sure thing, yes this bike will be continued till its finished in the series. I want to have it ready for the spring. When i build bikes like this, that were not complete, or came to me in parts, i completely mock them up with parts i have on hand, wrong bolts, etc, to find out what is missing. Then as i take it apart i make a list of all the parts needed then i order it at once. Its much faster also. Then i do finally assembly which is actually what I'll be filming. Hopefully I'll start that in about a month or so. I actually rode it yesterday for the first time with no fairings.
So I own a 06 r1 and It smells like burning clutch sometimes if I open the throttle too fast at 4k-5k rpms (no I'm not going WOT at 4k you think I need to swap out my clutch? Or could it be something else
Its sounds like that is probably an issue. If it slips almost like an automatic car its probably the clutch. But from what you are saying i would check it.
@@DeWoodysShop right im probably gonna end up swapping the clutch and doing a full fluid change swap the plugs, balance the throttlebodies and see if that helps, but it doesn't feel like the clutch is slipping, also in first gear at about 4.5k rpms or below if im just cruising the bike will kind of stutter and i have to give it a bit more gas for it to go away. also i had to change out the flywheel/stator because my magnets exploded, maybe there are chunks of magnet in my oil sump that may be messing with my engine. and I thought my old r6 had problems lmao
Love the video keep up the good work. Also I need some help with my 2006 r1 would love some of your advice
Shoot me a message of Facebook. Same name

Mike good tip! I actually did exactly that on my fz1 build, works great still use it.
what are those block off plates on top? smog pump delete?
Would you say 04-05 is better or 06? Or no difference? In the shaft
So only the 2006 limited editions had slipper clutches?
Yes from the 04-06 generation. 07-08 have slipper clutches but that's aittle different engine.
отличное видео- лайк.
Thanks!
Considering this on my 05, can you verify there were no fitment issues using the 4C8 clutch cover on the 5VY engine?

Why did you remove the original one for the 4c8 ?
I didn’t understand. Is it a better system ?
Yes the 4c8 has a factory slipper clutch. The standard 04-06 has a normal clutch.
Thanks for the explanation. Much appreciated. Also good information to have. Keep them coming. Really want to hear and see the finished bike running
