that intro is so great..... trucker must of been like "GET THE HELL OUT OF MY TRUCK!!! cant stand your pickin any longer" and that "pose"... guitar up high, leg shake and head bob.... just picking it...... as a guitar player my self, thats hilarious to me . and as a mechanic.... who got to drive the big rigs around the parking lot sometimes, when they had a pup on and could not make the corner... (pull out of shop....on the highway, jam 4 gears, back down 2, and wheel it into the parking lot.... all in about 30 seconds, to not hold up traffic....) . i LOVE seeing that truck twist from the torque. . we had a few 600hp / 2050 foot pound Cummins ISX motors in the fleet i used to service.... turned up a bit... AND!!! fully emissions deleted (you can do that in Montana... no EGR, no DPF, not even particulate filter.... ) . so they probably made a LITTLE more than rated. HAHA!!! . as pretty fun when i got to drive one a few miles....took it on a test drive after i did some work on it (new radiator and charge-air-cooler.... didnt need to test drive it...confident in my work.... but i wanted to feel what 2050+ foot pounds felt like LOL) . dropped the clutch a little too quick in super granny low (18 speed eaton).... and i thought it was gonna twist the frame into the shape of a DNA strand!!! . just cant believe how quick they accelerate with a LONG ASS fuel tanker, fully loaded, with a decent sized pup behind that.... . my 77 chevy k10 with a 265hp / 420 foot pound 400 cubic inch small block doesnt accelerate that quickly... and its only 4800 pounds.... not ~48 TONS!!!
Met him over 10 years ago and he personally have me this tape which I still have........and I gave him a trucker tape as well helped a friend remodel his kitchen........cool cat too
@@RandomTessellate that little 1/4 inch magnetic strip that sounds better than vinyl.... and way better than these modern shitty mastered CDs with 64 kbps bit rate. . magnetic tape is every bit as analog as a vinyl record.... which requires the master (used to make copies) be a almost "1 to 1" "copy" of the original sound made in the studio . to long, didnt read...... . cassette tapes are making a come back..... even stronger than vinyl records ya cant play a 12 inch LP in your car.... . but now days.....you can buy a NICE tape deck/CD player for your car..... and be able to play everything from tapes... to cds from 1996.... to mp3, wav, and even lossless codecs on a USB thumb drive... to using a 3.5mm "AUX" cable...... to wireless-ly Bluetooth-ing your phone to the radio .
Love Dale, but is it my imagination? I think he looks SO MUCH like John Schneider from the Dukes of Hazzard, except Dale has dark hair, and John has blond hair, could be brothers, lol... funnny.
One of the coolest songs ever!
I'm a trucker and this song rings true for all of us out here

he got to be one of the coolest guy that ever walked on this earth.
Sure is. I'd recognize that long hair and scarecrow frame anywhere! Two of my favorites in one video. And Billy D. Donahue on bass. What a monster!

I have heard he is a true gentleman and friend to all and wouldn't say doodoo if he had a mouthful. Try emulating his speech.
2:26 I think that is Jimmie Dale Gilmore walking into the service station.....
Great then, Great now!
Great song , video would have been better if the camera movements hadn't been so frantic and they held one frame for more than one second
