I’m a local and for those who grew up here, he’s not underrated, he’s a living legend that came up playing with Bill Monroe as a young boy live on stage and TV. Nashville, has turned their back to acts / talent like this to promote hip hop and Dixie cup music. Nashville is overrated and has lost its direction. The venue here is a prime example. They shuttered Ernest Tubbs Record Shop….. Simply a disgrace all around.
Once upon a time I didn't know who Kenny Vaughan was. Pretty darn sad, isn't it? I like that man more than I can tell you. He's one of the best guitar pickers out there.
Watch him backing up others on the opry! Marty has paid plenty of dues. Lester Flatt used to joke about being "Marty stuart's guitar player" when Marty was playing in lester's band
This is my FAVOURITE video in the entire UA-cam Universe. I watch it every single day. Simply the best sounding band I've ever heard. They just walk onto that tiny stage, put on their guitars and blast out with that fantastic sound. Amazing....
Got to drop some love for that bass player. In case you were wondering... that's how you do it. Such a joyful performance. Sick little right hand slide at the top was also cool.
Such an underrated Under-appreciated Fantastic Country Band …. They should be filling arena’s 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Marty alone is Nashville royalty🤠🎸 … & the Lads are the real thing 🎸🎤🥁🎤🎸🥁
Paco Pascual can’t call the bass players name, but he’s been o many of big stages, but was all smiles gettin down with the young fella that has no idea he’s not as talented/tested as the fellas backing him up!
That’s Paul Martin...he’s married to Duane Allen (of the oak ridge boys) daughter...and many years ago Paul was the lead singer for the band Exile...when J P Pennington left the band....
Yes, Paul Martin’s wife is the daughter of Oak Ridge Boys singer Duane Allen. He actually sang baritone with them after Steve Sanders’ departure and just before William Lee Golden came back.
Paul is also by far the best guitarist in the band. And pedal steel player , and sound engineer. He’s the whole package and a great Christian man with a lovely family with whom he plays with these days. I can’t say enough good about the boy. I’ve. Know. Him for 45 years and he’s as humble now as he was just a young rock n roller.
Marty Stuart plays the SMARTEST and BADASSEST rhythm guitar ever in the history of mankind. Such a clever and tasteful musician I kinda hate him for being so cool. God he's SO GOOD.
Kenny is such an amazing talent and is one of the few players that can top Marty's sartorial splendor! And Marty is happy to step back and play rhythm. Such a gracious and humble man!
Clarence White is looking down on Marty and Kenny with a big smile on his face. Classic guitars should be heard and not just seen in a museum. This is the first b-bender ever made ( both prototype and finished product!). Thanks to Marty it’s been rockin’ for decades.

Impossible to wipe the smile off my face during that one. And how cool is Marty? Just as happy to be a sideman. Damn, those boys know how to play those guitars proper.
This is some of the best, ever! Little stage at Tubbs Record Store, no fancy acoustic mixing etc. Just Marty and the Superlatives blasting you into another dimension. Kenny is on fire here.
Awwwhh! boys!!!, I love this song, and I love that place, planty of good listening and good vibrations people! I really love this video and this happy and such young song Greetings from my far Argentina, Super Well Done Boys! 😉
Marty shows his humble and gentlemanly nature by letting Kenny take center stage numerous times, but then there are the moments when the country music veteran who has more than paid his dues and made his mark steps forward and reminds us all of what he has. Starting at 2:37 allow yourself to soak in the sounds of a true country guitar played by a country legend.
Got to be honest I’m a bit late to the party where Kenny and Marty’s music is concerned but it’s given me a new lease of love for country music. Both Marty and Kenny’s guitar sound is incredible on this, none of the shrill attack some telecasters throw out!
In another UA-cam offering Kenny talks about what they play through. No pedals. Just the straight sound of the Telecasters through vintage Fender amps. Kenny uses a Princeton. Marty a Deluxe. Marty makes it sound like a pedal steel. Just awesome musicianship.
My favorite country band and they are really knocking it out of the ball park. This gets me laughing its so good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Seeing Cousin Kenny and and Marty live in either combination is about the most fun you'll ever have. This whole band is a compilation of country history we'll never see again.
+tippimail1 they do Rock want to be Hansome Harry , except i con only play drums in my head., love the guitars too . i can always hear Buck and Don playing somewhere behind them.
I saw him say in an interview that people complained he didn't deserve the guitar and he said he agreed. Well, I'd like to respectfully disagree with Marty. I don't think there's anyone else that would have treated it with as much respect and played it to its full potential the way he has. Play on Marty. BTW, got to see them last year in Pensacola and they're fantastic.
@@TheFloridaPappy the ones saying he didn’t deserve it are just sour grapes. Others wouldn’t have shown it the love and respect he does and they would’ve either stuck it in a collection for bragging rights or put it on a wall in a restaurant somewhere. I can think of NO ONE more deserving.
First, let me say that I am a total fan of Marty Stuart and the Fabulous Superlatives!!! Now, Kenny Vaughan is absolutely awesome. Your drummer, alas, I do not know his name, is the best bluegrass tenor I have ever heard! Your bass player , I do not know his name either, is absolutely solid! In my opinion, your band is perfect! That having been said, this song is one of the best rock'nroll songs I have ever heard! If I were still playing, this would be my show opener! DT

I think Marty is criminally underrated..
He's been getting a LOT of recognition in the past year or so...about damn time, too! :)

@@edgarpoe7255 It sure does.
I stumbled across Kenny in 2022, when the Fabulous Superlatives played Long Road here in the UK. I’ve been obsessed ever since.
Wish they’d visit Canada soon!
Me too , but comedian Dean Del Ray interviewed him on his podcast, and I went looking for his music.
If only they played Country like this on country radio.
To many record and radio bigshots that weren't brought up on this style. Clueless in the offices.
Would that be something....?❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Hell yeah!!!!!!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Marty is a great front man, but he seems just as content to stand back and just be a guitar player. I love that.

Classy outfit these guys. Great music.

No big star attitude, he just wants to play music and is happy to showcase his Superlatives. They all deserve it too.
Gotta little bit of Grandpa Jones in him, me thinks ... Always entertaining!
The guy that played the guitar solo at the end seems like he’s pretty good. He’ll probably go far.

Kenny Vaughn and Marty Stuart are the absolute best combo in the Tele world....... Both are freakin' machines.
Can we take a moment to appreciate the production value of this recording?
I was just thinking the same thing. How do they get such a great live sound recording?
It's better than the record, the whole gig is....testament to their straight off the bat skills
And good quality vintage amps.
