Thanks to my legendary mates for hanging out in the shed and helping me with this build! without them I'd still be scratching my head looking for my 12mm socket! Speak to the team at Harrop about your project today! www.harrop.com.au
Can I hang out. Still trying to work out where the new the shops at. Want call in unannounced. Need a reference for a job I got offered at knights automotive
Hey Woody, reverse the water to air brick so the hoses exit to the rear and run longer lines to the radiator/cooler…looks way cleaner 😉. Awesome work as always!
I have a banga 6L80E trans file for a T43... sorts out all the issues relating to shift flare and dreaded torque downshift around 80km/h with big tyres.
From my experience with a LS1 and Harrop 2300 thermal spacers and some longer fixtures is a nice to have, I've also found a interchiller to be money well spent, my IAT has never been over 35°C since fitting the chiller, the stock coolant reservoir is pretty small as well, so if you don't go q chiller, a larger reservior with a large lid to put in some ice is another nice to have. I do love a blown "LS", but controlling IAT can take some work, especially in hot climates at low road speeds if you are just relying on a air to water system
im liking the rebuild/pivot of this channel.its not the old skid factory and i def think it wont be the finished product either. keep up the grind woody.
Man I love the 4wd builds. I really wish the ute chop and chassis extension was on camera and it was apart of the build series. Loving the content Woody
Would like to see someone build one as a triple-cab/6door! Like the Ford 6door that was on Finnegan's channel. I googled "nissan patrol 6 door" just now and saw ... some truly terrible things
Yep, very familiar xfr case. Doing my own refresh on my ZD30 at the moment- nearly 5k and not done and it’s only top end. She’ll get a front mount intercooler and new turbo before it’s finished too
I love this video so much, I have a L77 in a caprice and I love it, it'll get torn down for a big cam one day. I really want to grab a Tahoe here in the states and make it blown L77/6L80/AWD lol so this it some awesome reference material.
'Tough tiggys!' Hilarious.... I think that you always learn stuff what ever you're working on. Would be awesome to see you take on a project that only you really appreciate. Big block swap the Paj or just doing something fun that you really enjoy love!
you may have to check the oil pump again and change the oil pump relief spring as the dod is different pressure than normal (i think dod is about 120 psi),(standard is about 58-65 psi) sorry if you did change it
HEH I had a VERY sneaking suspicion when you said you're going from diesel to petrol, that you were doing a Patrol build. Then I saw the transfer case :D :D
Youve got the big rectangle port heads on that motor. If theyre rare 821 heads theyre also LS3 heads, lite valves and different angle. Big power engine better than cathedral port.....wait !! He come the cathedral LS guys at me
AFAIK, aside from structural issues, insurance companies do the STAT write off for potential warranty issues. Salt water is almost guaranteed to come back to bite them on repair warranty so they just write it off. Could be wrong though.
Pretty much bro. If water goes above the lower door sills and into the cabin it's instantly a write off coz electronics and trapped moisture. Makes me shake my head when customers bring their 4wd in for repair after taking it for a dunk at the boat ramp 😂
Bit of a surprise you would use the incar method for the locking of the drive hub out of the car. 10 minutes the crank would be out and you could fit proper reliable drive keys to it rather than pins. They might hang in there for a while but at least keys allow replacement pulleys to be fitted and wont break easily.
Up the pooey! Just have to say what a amazing build series ! Cant wait to see how it ends, and how refreshing to see some true blue balding, bearded and belly'd lads out there giving it a go ! 😉🙋 Haha
For next time, get the bow tie\batman symbol chain tensioner. The stock style one breaks and ends up in the sump. Cam retainer plate seal wears out and you can lose oil pressure. CHE trunnion upgrade kit is the go for high RPM stuff so you don't end up with roller bearing getting eaten up by the engine.
Remove that chain guide and use the LS2 one. The OEM one will fail and end up in your sump. The only reason they changed to the spring loaded one was because VVT engines needed more chain wrapped around the cam gear.
Great vid Woody, the music was spot on too ! :) Ah, sorry, I got to the end of the vid Woody, and you mentioned the word " Patrol " !! You kinda lost me there for a bit, what a waste of a great motor !! But, hey, I'm not paying for it, so, I hope old mates Patrol is something he loves :)
Thanks to my legendary mates for hanging out in the shed and helping me with this build! without them I'd still be scratching my head looking for my 12mm socket!

Hey woody what am I looking at for u to do a LS1 conversion to my 2004 auto patrol?
Can I hang out. Still trying to work out where the new the shops at. Want call in unannounced. Need a reference for a job I got offered at knights automotive
Speaks volumes about you Woody that you’re surrounded by good mates always keen to pitch in and help.
Ur so ssssmart
Its hard to imagine the skid factory without Al, but you're doing a good job Woody. Keep it up fella. I'm keen for more!
Not really! I stopped watching because he was boring AF. Now I’m back on board! Good stuff Woody.
That young fella, Tom looks like a great help.
Woody awesome to see you looking after young fellas the way Al did for you.
Second best 4 wheel drive channel on the interballs ❤
I understood that reference.
The music/soundtrack is on point Woody. Chill with top notch editing. Nice one brother!
I love 4wd’s
I watch this channels for the quality builds, not necessarily for the cars. The whole picture is what I’m here for!
Hey Woody, reverse the water to air brick so the hoses exit to the rear and run longer lines to the radiator/cooler…looks way cleaner 😉. Awesome work as always!
Who doesn't love a Patrol build!
Definitely need to see more of your Paj though Woody!
Not my cup of tea - but tough titties for me! 😀
Mitsubishi/Hyundai V8 install😗
No one loves or likes a rubbish 4x4 build or any content related to 4x4's
@@luke_james No one gives a shit about your opinion
Although 4bie stuff isn't my cuppa tea, I'm here for it to support the channel 👍
Thanks mate ❤
I'm here cause i bloody love the channel
Nope zero 4x4 content. No youtuber is above 4x4 rubbish
@@luke_jameslol why are you so mad? Where did the 4x4 touch you? Did an LS patrol chop your Yaris?
Hammer squeaks are back 😎🙌🏼🤣
As soon as I saw the sump I knew its going to be a patrol conversion 🤘🤘
Nothing like a good reaming !!
Patrol is my favorite 4wd ever made. We never got them on this side of the pond but there are imports....one day.
this is a lovely combo the 6l80 is what makes them so nice to drive we have built quite a few of these over the years
Going well, liking the new shed too
Your a great inspiration woody, Keep going!
One thing for sure, he'll be going places in a frigging hurry. 😂😂❤❤
Woody mate whatever you put this perfect set up into, it will be capable of going to infinity and Beyond!
Love your set up woody , the shop , the tools , very clean and nice well done 👍 love a nice LS good stuff !
I have a banga 6L80E trans file for a T43... sorts out all the issues relating to shift flare and dreaded torque downshift around 80km/h with big tyres.
Way to go big dog!By no means a 4x4 person but here to support your dream.

I'm sure that weld ls going do wonders for the crank balance hey
Hey woody doing amazing job can't wait to see more 4x4 building
Lovely to see a new project. Thanks for sharing
Woody what a wonderful show mate and now with the patrol with a LS to good mate keep up the great work 👍🏼 well done
im liking the rebuild/pivot of this channel.its not the old skid factory and i def think it wont be the finished product either. keep up the grind woody.
Managed to grab the last bottle of Bars Lemon Squash at my local Supercheap
Great to see a new build in the new shop Woody! Keep up the great work
Carn’ woody, the paj is sick ! 🎉
This is going to be mint! Cheers Woody!
Great project. I was afraid it was something too silly. There's other channels for that. Patrol's gonna be awesome, as you said.
That cam was well lubed. Good work .
this is going to be fun, can't wait for the blower whine, great work gents
Love the 4x4 stuff.
Three lemon bug offs left at my SCA
The last shot of the mouth if determination. Gold woodregos
Man I love the 4wd builds. I really wish the ute chop and chassis extension was on camera and it was apart of the build series. Loving the content Woody

That patrol is sick and it’s about to be even better
Yep, very familiar xfr case. Doing my own refresh on my ZD30 at the moment- nearly 5k and not done and it’s only top end. She’ll get a front mount intercooler and new turbo before it’s finished too
Love the 4 b stuff just keep doing what you love 😊
I'm so, SO jealous of the Patrol. We never got any of them here in the states😢. It's gonna be a nice project!
We do love patrols OM606,M57, cummins powered❤
Luve it i,ve got a GQ with a LS in it ,it,s going to be on the road next week after 6 months of of sitting in the shed.
THANK YOU FOR VIDEO
WOODY LOOK AT BIG ENGINE INTO YOUR 4X4 WAGON
Can't believe this is going in your forklift!
Great work Woody, really enjoying watching the new format. Keep it up.
Alan will love this, get some proper impact sockets, young crew are watching you mob for knowledge.
I love this video so much, I have a L77 in a caprice and I love it, it'll get torn down for a big cam one day. I really want to grab a Tahoe here in the states and make it blown L77/6L80/AWD lol so this it some awesome reference material.

sickkkkkkk keen for the build
Love a bit of 4x4 action.

What a beast that’s going to be, good luck to the driveline
Why do the pistons have little divots in them?
Its basically just a this way forward dummy mark
Just a factory marking, there’s arrows to identify forward, not too sure what the divots mean.
HEH I had a VERY sneaking suspicion when you said you're going from diesel to petrol, that you were doing a Patrol build. Then I saw the transfer case :D :D
That LS2 Refresh it looks wonderful Well Done 👏👏👏👏👏
Preview = @8:52 Woody talks about how much he likes to shove dowels into freshly reamed holes.
Good work, thanks brother.
Paulies back!
Another Range Rover Classic. Sweet!
C.T.
thanks woody!
Would love that engine in my Patrol!
great vid Woodson
Keen to see how it turns out, I regret not boosting mine when Ryan did the engine conversion 😭
Was speaking to Ryan this week about your car!
He told me to turbo it at the time, I should have done it! Oh well, it gives me another project once I finish my skyline.
Keep up the good work bro.
4ag ftw!
I love the twist and rub motion when cleaning your cams....😳😳😬😅🤪
"Get you mind out of the gutter!"
Yeah, there's nothing wrong about lubing up your long hard shaft. 😂😁😜
Did you replace the rings & bearings? a balance would be nice as well.
Nice one Woody
Youve got the big rectangle port heads on that motor. If theyre rare 821 heads theyre also LS3 heads, lite valves and different angle. Big power engine better than cathedral port.....wait !! He come the cathedral LS guys at me
Don't use that style of chain guide - Use the bow tie style.
Plus one for this, known failure, plastic breaks off over time and will block the oil pickup, safer with no chain tensioner at all
another awesome video keep it up.
Nice work boys! 💪🏼💪🏼
Hell yeah, brother!
Solid content brus
Strange to see a trol so high with small tyres? Good job removing the kettle 👌🏿
A set of TFS heads would take a lot of stress off the blower and already prone to flexing factory crank.
Love your work Bro always tune in for a great watch. Kweef induction may be the future too.
Converting a factory TD42 should be illegal, Use a 3.0ltr patrol for LS conversions. But keep up the good work 👍
Love the 4bie stuff, makes me really wanna buy a cruiser. Keep up the great work brother
AFAIK, aside from structural issues, insurance companies do the STAT write off for potential warranty issues. Salt water is almost guaranteed to come back to bite them on repair warranty so they just write it off. Could be wrong though.

Salt water gets into the wiring looms and it's all over.
Bit of a surprise you would use the incar method for the locking of the drive hub out of the car. 10 minutes the crank would be out and you could fit proper reliable drive keys to it rather than pins. They might hang in there for a while but at least keys allow replacement pulleys to be fitted and wont break easily.
LS2 cathedral port, L77 L98 rectangular port
I was going to say definitely not an ls2 but you beat me to it
Up the pooey! Just have to say what a amazing build series ! Cant wait to see how it ends, and how refreshing to see some true blue balding, bearded and belly'd lads out there giving it a go ! 😉🙋 Haha

Extra ring gap for boost?
Awesome vid woody. Enjoying the build content. Cheers
From strength to strength Woody.
Looking good. Why take off the cruise? I hope it has air con and power steering too.
Because drive by wire and factory L77 ecu. No need for aftermarket cruise
Keep it up Woody
When is this digital torque wrench coming out ? Can’t wait since I saw it first on the crown Barra build !
Gunna be a sweet build.
Didnt dial in the cam?
Remove that chain guide and use the LS2 one. The OEM one will fail and end up in your sump.
The only reason they changed to the spring loaded one was because VVT engines needed more chain wrapped around the cam gear.
No piston ring gapping?
Great vid Woody, the music was spot on too ! :) Ah, sorry, I got to the end of the vid Woody, and you mentioned the word " Patrol " !! You kinda lost me there for a bit, what a waste of a great motor !! But, hey, I'm not paying for it, so, I hope old mates Patrol is something he loves :)
Hey just a quick heads-up, I know a guy over there who loves wiring and Patrols...name's Al over on the Sunshine Coast...look him up. 😎
If it's uneaven then why didn't you take it to a machine shop to get all the surfaces decked so their nice n flat so they seal well?
