Hey, those ads using cartoon characters really worked. When I was a kid and I traveled with my parents, I was always happy to stay at an Embassy Suite. Not only were they nice hotels, but Garfield was in their commercials!
Love the Wildcats promo. That same movie would be rated PG-13 today. I wish hollywood would make the movie the way it was intended instead of watering them down for the sake of cash grabs.
02:44 - I notice the can has a ring- pull type tab. This is '86, but I clearly remember Coke having modern- stay tabs in '83 during their 'passport to the Olympics' game... That's a pretty big overlap.
I love Chili Cheese Fritos, and I'm always reminded of a Night Court episode, where Roz goes to Anger Management and gets held hostage by a young Don Cheadle. His character had robbed a store and only got away with "a lousy bag of Fritos. And it's the Chili kind! I hate the chili kind!" I wonder if the Navy commercial producers realized how big a hit Top Gun would be later that year. My Volvo never got into a crash, but commercials like that one sure made me feel that my car would protect me!
LOL sounds like the narrator for the Miami Vice bumper said"Miami Vice..will KHAN-tinue." That Amazing Stories episode i think was supposed to been a pilot for a possible series, but the plans fell through
+Johnny Yuma yeah, that was a new one on me- my friend's dad had an old postwar jeep willys that he collected PTO attachments for- there are some pretty cool mods- but all shaft driven
Mike Troncin The PTO attachments reminds me of when my uncle bought a '72 Bronco from someone back in the '80s. It had a lift kit with 38" tires, a roll cage around the body with a gin pole and PTO winch attached to the front bumper. The cable was run to the gin pole and hooked around the tubing running across the cab right above the windshield. One day, my uncle allowed a friend to take it to a store for a beer run. When the guy was on the road, he didn't realize he engaged the winch within the cab and the gin pole was pulled back into the hood and the tubing was bowed.

the 80s r the best decade ever!! love your videos! ;)
best decade ever!
I'm sending away for the Tab sweepstakes, oh wait, I'm 30 years too late lol...Awesome 80's I miss that time!
I miss commercial jingles. They don't even try now.
+MangaCEI Now, it's just a song from an artist. No creativity.
I've subbed to this channel more than six years ago but this has to be the most 80s segment ever. I love it! So awesome!
You should watch volume 526. MTV Video Awards commercials in 1984. Definitely the most "80s" feeling.

This channel is the best. Relaxes me from the crap that is on now.

+Yoda Pagoda I believe I remember that episode. Didn't everyone (Harry, Dan, Bull and Christine) go with her? I'm a bit fuzzy on the Chili part.
THESE COMMERCIALS ARE MEDICATION!!
I've never seen this Pepe Le Peu mcdlt ad! Thanks!

Happy Valentine's, Vault. :)
***** Thanks! Though I'm not that Nocturnal, to begin with. :)
Hitcher opening in theatres!
It's a shame Amazing Stories didn't last longer. It was like The Twilight Zone except with actual production values.
so mcdonalds had real tomatoes at one point ?
That Frank & Jesse James voice is MUCH better now.
04:31 - old-school chain drive PTO! (Power take-off)
+Mike Troncin That was cool to see. My dad had a couple of tractors but none of them had a chain drive PTO.
+Johnny Yuma yeah, that was a new one on me- my friend's dad had an old postwar jeep willys that he collected PTO attachments for- there are some pretty cool mods- but all shaft driven

Goldie Hawn was my favorite. A shame she ruined her career with botched plastic surgery.
