  • Here's my current scalp psoriasis wash routine. I show you how I incorporate natural ingredients into my wash day. More info below!
    PRODUCTS USED: amzn.to/3WQUnq6
    DIY Aloe Vera Gel Pre-Poo
    Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse
    Nizoral Scalp Psoriasis Shampoo
Eden BodyWorks Coconut Shea Hair Masque
    Avocado Oil
    STEP 1: PRE-POO
I made a DIY aloe pre-poo. I took the aloe leaf, peeled an cut it. Then blended it and strained it. for I love aloe for its moisturizing and healing properties on the scalp. It can help soften the skin and scaly patches associated with plaque psoriasis. And because psoriatic skin is easily irritated and traumatized, the aloe can help in healing any wounds or sores.
    APPLICATION
I part my hair into 4 sections, then I begin applying the aloe pre-poo. I try to focus the product onto my scalp and massage it in, then work the product through the rest of my hair. Once I've worked the aloe into my hair, I detangle with a wide tooth comb.
PRO-TIP - Try adding an oil, and make sure pre-poo is warm. That way you get a better slip on your hair for detangling, your hair shaft and the pores on you scalp will be open and can absorb the aloe better.
    STEP 2: CLEANSE
First I spray the ACV rinse directly onto my scalp. I suggest using a spray bottle that has a stream nozzle so you can get the ACV directly onto your scalp. I massage it in and work it through my hair. Then I go immediately on top of it with the shampoo. Once again, massaging it into my scalp.
PRO-TIP - If you're prone to single strand knots, try holding the section of hair taught so that you can get easy access to massaging your scalp without your hair getting in the way. This technique also helps keep your hair detangled through the washing process.
    STEP 3: CONDITION
I Re-wet my hair with water. I apply the aloe again focusing the application to my scalp and massaging it in. Then I take a nice dollop of conditioner and warm it up in my hands. Add some of the avocado oil to my hands, rub them together then apply it to my hair. Then I do another round of detangling.
    STEP 4: STEAM
Next I take a shower cap and poke holes into the top of it. I put the cap on and get under my steamer. Sometimes I steam with the shower cap, sometimes I don't. Just depends on how I'm feeling. PRO-TIP - poke holes into the shower cap so the moisture can physically get to your hair, and the cap itself will help trap the heat in so your hair can absorb the moisture.

Me too. Thank you. I regret shaving my hair. I developed a bald spot from the eczema. Nothing is helping and I now have it up top

How often do you wash your hair?

When I’m dealing with an active flare up - once a week. When my psoriasis is dormant & my hair is in a long term protective style - at least once a month.
