Sad in Malaysia almost everyone thinks turtle just need a little water and decorations plus pellets
I wanted to buy a heater from a exotic pet store and the guy actually asked me "Why a heater , you want to boil your turtle?"-_- I need it because it's cold at night lol
Depends on the species, some turtles spend the entire year in water at or colder than room temperature
@@davisbenn2179 Yeah but I have 3 actually , one of them got respiratory infection from it , the other two are bigger at size and very active , the sick one is weaker . Temperature changes a lot in Malaysia at least at my place that is and I can't depend on how strong the turtles are , I need to take care of them
@@r_529_o that dude that told you why the heater... Lol I would have told him to mind his business because at the end of the day it's not boiling the turtle it's keeping the water at turtle temperature which is usually 78°
In Asia the temperature is warm compared to Europe or America. Heater is for cold weather.
@@danabella6540 Yea but we got monsoon season, the difference in temp is too big, I learnt it the hard way -_-

My maps are totally messy, too. Luckily, my canister filter + my assortment of fish take really good care of that!

Yeah I would love to feed my lil guy (YBS) outside his tank, but I also have 3 dogs and 3 cats (and 4 guinea pigs, but they're not exactly a threat lol)...and the kitties are especially curious about Greg.

My turtle would have gone straight for that calcium block. She freaking loves them. I need to try the giant size cause she eats them so fast and my other turtle doesn't get as much. She's is a red ear and the other is a boy eastern painted turtle.

I heard 1 turtle is good for 75 gallon tank but you have 4. Are you getting a bigger tank later on?
For older turtles how much food do you suggest giving them so that they don’t gain weight! My turtle is older but she will eat everything that I put in her tank but I don’t want her to get obese. I also feed her once a day
I have a girl red ear slider I feed her once a day I give her a little bit of freeze dried crickets little bit of turtle pellets. Then the next day I switch it up I grab goldfish from the pet store I give her one. And the next day I'll give her carrots piece of cooked turkey some kale it's good to give them vegetables and meat. Then like once every week I give her a piece of watermelon or a piece of Apple for fruit
I just got a yellow belly slider and she won't eat in the seperate container, what can I do?

Nice! I have a male (5yrs) and female (2.5yrs) musk and I hate hate hate how fast the filter ends up getting clogged. And I have a good filter too. So I'm thinking I might try this and see if I can get them to eat in a separate tank to begin with lol but just to see how much of a difference it would make. I already went bare bottom because it was just nasty with river pebbles. Well now I have much bigger rocks so they still have something to climb and sit on. And a turtle log etc but no substrate. I have a question though. To try enticing them to eat in a separate tank, I know they love earthworms but I refuse to dig them up. They're nasty lol. Is there anything wrong with giving them worms from the fishing bait container? Like store bought? I do occasionally give meal worms too but earthworms are like the favorite that I feel might make feeding in a separate tank possible. And not every day but at least the first few.
Also, my male is a bit on the overweight side. Do you have any tips on helping with slimming him down a bit? I frequently do put some guppies in their tank for him to play with and he doesn't get earthworms or anything like that often at all.

I read somewhere that those calcium blocks are not safe for turtles. Tried researching it but found nothing to back it up. Does anyone have any information on the subject?
Allot of the things in turtle groups is made up or half truths by one person, that's backed up by fear mongering, but if you feed it only it can be harmful
@@joshuasturtlerescue.827 thats what I'm starting to notice. I use them as way to get calcium. I put half of one tab in my turtles tank every other week. I tried cuttlebone and they wouldn't even touch it.

I am asking this question out of genuine curiosity, i mean no disrespect....why, OH WHY do so many youtubers now-a-days do that thing with their hands when their filming? Doesn't matter if it's in selfie pointed view or not, they're always being so OVERLY animated with their hands. Why do they do that? Again I mean no disrespect, I am just genuinely curious.

Toooo much work
You really need to rethink how you film your videos. You cut to the next sentence before even finishing your previous sentence and allowing yourself time to breathe. This video is entirely unwatchable.
