But he grows, eats well(he loves his food omg), extremely active etc. I was worried he has ri but i read he should have symptoms but does not. Glad im not the only one. Should turtles have a buddy? Like we have one turtle (a yellow bellied slider) and I feel like he’s bored all the time. I don’t know I just want to do what’s right. I just don’t have a ton of money or room to upgrade past a 50 gallon tub. I could try for a 75 gallon eventually. But wouldn’t I need to double the size if I had double the turtles? And wouldn’t I need to get a much stronger filter and an extra basking area?
As things progress with my gupy breeding, would you like to be taking Guppies to stock up your ponds? Interesting fact you may not know, doctor pirxy lo in Pasadena in a turtle breeder. Of albino and snow Sliders. Who teaches medical courses at your old college.

@@kenna6903 Harbor freight and, Amazon has a small solar set that could probably power a canister filter & heater .. You would have to ask your question there .. If not a really, really long heavy duty extension cord 😉?
I have a beautiful albino soft shell tortise... His name is Ivory (IVO). I see he does recognize me and comes up to greet me and get some treats. 😂😂 😂. But I have never seen him basking in the sunlight. 🤔

I just lost one of my loved turts...my Pearl River Map got in a bad accident.. At what temp do you keep your babies in the glass tank? I also have a painted that whistles and have nose bubbles. She has been on 3 different types of antibiotics but she doesn't get better
Hello Dan this Quincy from Atlanta my river cooted turtle has this white bottom think its a fungus but she health an everything water change once a week she's fully functioning but this white looking bottom white should I do
But they have not been basking to much either so I am trying to see what causing this white but they are very active eating been doing a lot of hiding an in the water alot is this normal I have them by the window an basking area an light
Can u do a video about their mating behavior? My turtles act weird. I cant tell who is male or female. The big one chases the smaller one. They are 3 years old. One is always scared the other is the boss.
Dan why is my turtle lazy it barely likes to walk I just got it a few days ago so I’m still setting things up I haven’t got a unveiling light so I’m really worried about it health and right now I’m working on getting a big tank for it it’s a baby so it makes me more worried for it’s health

If you’re planning on getting a male that should be fine. Southerns are the smallest of the painteds so there should be no worry. Female southerns should also be fine but may have to upgrade.
Also hatchlings i find are better as you can make a stronger bond have have plenty of time to spend with them. You also have a smaller size turtle. If you want to go the rescue route for a larger southern is also really good.
A hatchling will do ok in a 55, but don't fill it up too much! Keep it at maybe 2-5 inches of water, fake plants, until it reaches 3 inches or so, then fill halfway and then fill it all the way up at 4 inches!

@@enriquechaveste4840 it was 6 days she didn't want to eat so I got her a 20 gallon. She looked like she was getting sick. I couldn't take the chance. My son would have taken it hard we had 2 deaths in the family. Couldn't let his turtle die

You'd be better off with some fish friends or activities to keep busy rather than another turtle, as they can be aggressive and territorial

I usually build outdoor pond filters, or an internal filter for my setups outside. A pump and a solid filter box and you're set!

I tried putting my red ear slider in a tub and she won't eat her food. She only will eat in her tank.
Persistence is key, my turtles didn’t eat the first 3-4 day I moved them. Eventually they’ll go for food as soon as they see it
