I just joined your delightful channel this evening and this is the first video I've viewed. I'm here from Diane Antone's watercolor channel. 😊 Here just in time to go back to your first Crochet Calenders tutorial for January and start it for 2022. Yay!! Thank you!
Jayda excellent tutorial as usual! I love how you explain the "whys"and logic of a pattern, eg. "Chain one because we are skipping this stitch." It seems very minor, but it really helps get a pattern to stick in one's memory!
Hello completed the sept strip. I have to say its pretty enough to make a whole blanket with just this pattern in rose color with white around each strip. Nice!
I am really looking forward to this month's pattern! Thank you ever so much for making these tutorials. You always take the time to explain everything so thoroughly and I am learning so much in the process of this colorful creation!
Finally working on Sept. After making a full mile a minute blanket..one stitch for the whole blanket.. now..I started again using the birthday for all months with each different stitch.
I have 4 projects going right now. This mile a minute.. a scarf with hood and pockets (my personal stitch, i call it TERRI stitch) , a body quillo (quilt and pillow in one) in Terri stitch and a Seattle Seahawks blanket by using the colors of their shirt jersey as the section for the blanket.. yes I am waiting for OCT section for the mile-a-minute blanket you are sharing. Since the nation is banning plastic bags at stores after this friday..I'm looking for a bag pattern, I think I found one but I'll use my Terri stitch to make them. I'm 62 y.o if you are wondering. I'm retired, homemaker to have all this time to crochet. :-)
This is like Monica from Friends teaching me crocheting. I love it! I'm going to start this blanket a bit late, but hopefully I finish it next year and can give it to my daughter in her birthday. Thank you for easy-to-follow videos!
I got my September panel done and attached to blanket...woohoo! To your question, I thought the odd number row was the quickest for me..with less stitches. Thanks for the lovely stitch pattern this month!
With how much the pattern goes prettier every new month my guess is that the December strip will be the prettiest of them all. Thank you so much for making my September so much more crafty, especially with figuring which colors I should use since it requires the double amount of yarn for the main part. Will any of the remaining patters require the regular 80 to 90 yards of yarn or less?
Hi Jane! If you're planning out yarn for the rest of the blanket, the remaining 3 strips will each use around 200 y or less (for the main pattern) and the borders will all be the same. Having said that, we'll be adding a border (colours are up to you of course!) so you'll want to have some yarn set aside for that too 😊
Love this stitch ❤️ I used the same orange as you but as the main stitch colour and it look beautiful. Thank you for your amazing talent. PS. I found the odd row quicker.
Wondering Jayda if you ever have done a mile a minute Afghan with vera gated colors and how did it come out if you did or if one of your viewers did I’d love to know before I start one but I want to follow your next one and see about a vera gated one
Hi Luise, we had a couple of live streams last summer where I worked on a Seashell Baby Blanket (MAM) and I used a slightly self-striping tweed sort of yarn. It looks amazing! You can find that here to see the picture: ua-cam.com/video/EoHfc53Kf_Q/v-deo.html
I finally finished my ornamental fan strip for September. The main color is yellow and the boarder color is green. Once I completed and joined. To the blanket it looks really nice. My grandson picked the colors. I also notice that my speed n crocheting has increased.
I felt like the odd-open row worked faster because I didn't have to figure out what stitch the last DC went into. I was a bit surprised by that. Lol. Granted I was just happy that this was a much "calmer" pattern than August. I changed up your August stitch so that I didn't have the "bar" between petals five and six ... Which meant a little more attention was needed for me to get my two blanket strips done. But THIS strip just flew off my hook!!! Yay!! Thank you!
What do you do with the things that you crochet? Like this afghan that you are working on now. Will it be given to someone or donated somewhere? I find it hard for me to let go of something new I do, but you can't keep everything. Enjoy watching your show, and have made several items. I live in Southwest Virginia at the tip of the state, in Lee County. May the good Lord bless you and Mr. Stitches.
Hi Teresa! I typically keep my blankets, especially the Calendar Blanket series, I like to decorate with them! Other things I give as gifts or donate 😊

I love this blanket tutorial. It goes very fast. When it is done will you be offering the pattern in full for one price? Or will we always have to buy the pattern for each individual strip? Thank you.
Hi Anna! We have the individual stitch guides available for sale in our shop (some folks want them all, some want one or two) and we aim to have the entire blanket project in a single e-book available near the end of the year 😊
I finally finished my strip last night and attached it today! I love the strip pattern and it goes quickly(-WHEN I work at it lol)and it seems that it will be warmer. Like the January, February and March patterns. I must say-I've been using mine to cover up with at night, while the AC and fan are both on. Been loving it😍. for some reason you are calling row 3 an even row and i am confused!
Hi Gloria, the openwork row is an odd row (row 1, row 3, row 5 etc) and the solid dc row is an even row (row 2, row 4, row 6) etc. We don't count the foundation chains as a row. I hope that helps!
