Love at first sight granny square the fluted effect is mindblowing to see and so very easy pattern, amazingly beautiful, wonderful video tutorial ❤️ and you have really made that with your wonderful explanation so easy thank you so very much you are a blessing to me . I thank God for bringing you in my life 🙏 ❤️. I am definitely doing them and soon share the pictures with you ❤❤❤
I have to admit, at first, I really didn't want to put so much effort into this square. It just seemed complicated. But after I got the hang of it and how much yarn it uses. I got to liking the idea of making a blanket with this square just to use up yarn that I don't like anymore and just want to get rid of it to make room. I think I love this square now and getting creative with all the yarn I have to use for it's a great idea. We'll see if I can get it done in 2025. Thank you, Jeyda. As always. Very impressive.
Well, every year, there is one month I just can't get the hang of. I think this is the one for this year. It looks beautiful and some day I'll come back to it.
Hi! We just did a deep dive Q&A live stream on this pattern that you might find helpful (much like we did for the Jacob's Ladder Granny) you can find that here: ua-cam.com/users/liveUBDy4XpNJX4?feature=share
This was a little more challenging for me, but after watching that first round a couple times (and then at 50% speed!) I got it! After that the rest of the rows were no problem. It will definitely add some interest to the blanket! We are getting so close to the end! I'm looking forward to seeing my finished blanket! I found that especially on the 3 DC which started on the inside and worked toward the outside it helped to pull on the end of that post with my left hand to make room for the hook to go through. I also use my right index finger to hold the loops on the hook while working the hook around the post. (Using a clover soft touch, I find that the yarn slips off of the tip sometimes if I don't hold that right index finger on top of it.) I'm a right handed knife holder. Also, your tip about turning the work a bit helped a lot.
WOW, this square is incredible! Id follow along but... I still gotta catch up on my other squares🤭this is so exciting, and now I am motivated! September square here I come!!
I find it really helpful to slide the stitches down, especially working from the inside outward. When I finish a row, I slide the stitches down towards the center. It makes for a denser ruffle and easier to see the top of the mesh stitches for the next round. -Masha
Wow Jayda and Mr Instiches very interesting Granny Square going to be a challenge. Love how Jayda you are very talented and push Yarn Family to try new Crochet Stitches
This is exciting! Thank you for this new texture. I have not attached my squares. I think I might space out the raised textured ones through out the afghan…
Hi Jayda, Mr.Institches and Puppy! ❤ What a square! Love it! Maybe making a jacket with this square (as there are 3000 ponchos in my wardrobe:))! Thank you! 🙏🤩
WOW! This square looks so fluffy! It's also one of those squares that feel like there was some crafty magic involved because they look so incredible and sophisticated while the "recipe" couldn't be simpler. LOL! Now I'm wondering how a pillow case made of either a bunch of these squares or just two big ones would feel. Double squishy maybe?
Good morning from New York Queens I love listening to all of your tutorials. You explain so well. I would love to see a tutorial from you on how to make some wearables like maybe a pullover cardigan or an open sweater cardigan.
You are very kind, thank you! 😊 We definitely want to make more wearables! We also have a series on making a Granny Square Cardigan you might like, you can check out that here: ua-cam.com/play/PLU-tvdaf-Fne6TSNGwsn0hU1hI1go4NbP.html

Very interesting and cute Nov ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I am starting the square today. Putting the marker at every corner is really help me not to loose count. All your advice really help me. Thank you Jayda❤❤❤❤❤ Jayda did you made video cooking pizza called 'mama's' pizza. I have been recieved a lot of wierd contents dated 4 to 5 years ago it has you name and your logo and a few have you photo as well. I did not click on it cause a little bit sceptical.
My mind is trying to envision a version of this stitch with a somewhat smaller space hole, and have the flute side on the inside of a sweater. Making a poofy sweater, along the lines of a puffy jacket, with the flutes on the inside providing a tad bit more insulation.
Hi, Jayda! This is a beautiful square, and I think it would make wonderful throw pillows. How would you change the pattern to make a round? Also, you asked about our method and form for this pattern. I am right handed and I use the pencil grip, most of the time. I can use the knife grip, but it is somewhat slower for me. For this pattern, I Insert my hook behind each post, from right to to left, working away from the center, and then working back, in a counter-clockwise direction. The tops of my stitches are fairly uniform and all pointing in the same direction. It feels smooth, moving from one stitch to the next.
Hi Barbara, thank you for sharing that! Making it in the round would just require making a regular increasing Mesh Circle and I think the second pass of each row would largely be the same... I love that idea, I will see about putting my theory to the test!
@@JaydaInStitches Awesome! And congrats on the new family member. I have a standard Dachshund named Rowdy. He is in charge! Hopefully, your little Penny will not be quite as bossy as he is!! 💕🐾💕
I am sitting here debating if I should even bother making this square; the babies would go nuts with that texture! LOL I'll probably make it anyway, jut not add it to the blanket (I'll have to hide it!) The only way that I differ from you in that I hold my yarn with my first 2 fingers and hold my work with my thumb and last 2 fingers. When I have to pull up posts I tent to hold it with my thumb and third finger I could see someone making a top with that square (not me)
Hi Jayda!! Can you do a tutorial on how to join more than one of these together, please? Loving this one though and it's flexing my crochet muscles lol :)
Hi Rob! You can join them like all the other squares, just ignore the fluted part 😊 You want to focus on the edge of the Mesh base, and use each DC and CH along each side as you sew or crochet them together.
Hi jayda, loving these granny squares I love grannies just a quick question I'm going to join my squares by crocheting the last granny swirls how would you join as there is no actual stitches as such all the others have stitches to go into 23 any ideas please
Hi Angela, the base (pass 1) is the part of the square that you use to join to other squares: you use the double crochet stitches AND the chs along each side. Excluding the ch-2 corner spaces, that's 23 sts across each side, just like the other squares. Think of it as the Summer Mesh square but with a ruffly top 😊
Great tutorial but maby the center color could have been a different color than white, it was kind of hard to see the stitches at first row and first section of the flute . Otherwise it was a great tutorial.
Hi! The back of the ch-3 that began the second pass or ANYWHERE inside that stitch. It's not super specific, you're basically just angling to get your yarn back down to the edge of the first pass so you can start the next row. Don't overthink it, just stitch that hook in and slip stitch anywhere that's comfortable and don't pull tightly 😊
Hi Nadine, I imagine you could, but I haven't done that myself so I'm not sure where the best place to start would be, how how moving through each row would work 😊
I will have to skip November squares. Takes a too much yarn and I don't think, I will have enough to put it all together. Any substitutions for the November square?
Hi Jennifer! Any of the previous squares, the original Granny (here: ua-cam.com/video/nbR-VZIQ9hA/v-deo.html ) the plain solid double crochet square (here: ua-cam.com/video/dJ7bGt6-9jg/v-deo.html ) or even the V-St square (here: ua-cam.com/video/c8K1Pbv80uQ/v-deo.html ) 💗

Hi Jayda institches❤
Hi!
Helloooooo Jayda & MrInStitches ❤❤❤
Hi Lorraine!!
Kind of cool. I immediately thought I wonder what would happen if I used linked double crochet for the standing up part.
It might be a little stiff, but give it a try!
While I like this square, it takes a lot of concentration. I hope next month’s will be more relaxing to make.
Had to up the ante for the 2nd last square 😁 December comes quick and we're angling towards a speedy finish 😉

Thinking of adding a single crochet border around each square to make them stand out more. Will that throw things off for the blanket border
Go for it! And no, it won't throw off the border at all, as long as all your squares have the same stitch count per side, you're golden 💗
