    See, now I was wondering how applying your iron on the rubber stamp would not melt it. LOL. That is why we need Sharon to show us how to do things properly. I have to say, I was very excited to hear Rachel talk about your beautiful prayer journal.

    Where do you get the royal/floral stamps? I cannot find these at all.

    • @SharonHoerth
      @SharonHoerth  2 роки тому

      The large stamp is called Wrought Iron Background from Stampabilities. The small one is by studio g, but there is no name on the block. These stamps are both quite old, so you may not be able to find these exact ones.

    Beautiful. How permanent would this be? Say for instance you wanted to use it for the cover of a journal. Would the pattern eventually disappear with wear and tear? Also, could you do this with an embossing folder?

    • @SharonHoerth
      @SharonHoerth  Рік тому

      When you emboss velvet with heat it is pretty permanent. The fibers usually flattened down pretty good. With a lot of wear and tear, the fibers that are left standing up may eventually flatten some which would likely make the pattern appear less crisp or clear. I don't think simply running velvet or fabric through an embossing machine will hold up. But you have me thinking. Maybe with some starch spray or something like that it would stay permanent. I may have to give that a try! Thanks for watching! 💙❤️💙

    Beautiful 💜. I found this looking for the exact type of tutorial. I’m wondering if you did this on a top or something, if it would still be there after washing? Does anyone know? Nice video 🙂

    • @SharonHoerth
      @SharonHoerth  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks so much. I have not tried this technique on clothing, so I don’t know how it would hold up to washing. You could try a test swatch and throw that in the washing machine.

    If I wanted gold embossing, would I use embossing powder too?

    • @SharonHoerth

      Hi Rachel. I've never used embossing powder, but I always say, "Try it and see what happens!" 🌷

    Is this ink on your stamp? Can you put embossing powder on top and use a heat gun?

    • @SharonHoerth
      @SharonHoerth  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Brittney. No ink is involved. The pattern is just from the heat of the iron and the impression that it leaves on the fabric through the stamp.

    This is awesome! What kind of velvet was the bookmark made from? I love how much it pops with that kind🙏🏽

    • @SharonHoerth
      @SharonHoerth  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you! I'm guessing it's probably rayon. I try to purchase mostly vintage velvet that is rayon, cotton or silk. They seem to work best as opposed to polyester or nylon.

    Hi can you do this with a steamer iron rather than a traditional one?

    • @SharonHoerth
      @SharonHoerth  2 роки тому

      I don’t think you’d get very good results with only steam. It’s the pressure from the iron that makes the imprint. You could try it. Then you’ll know one way or another! 👍

  • @sattaribandda3396
    @sattaribandda3396 2 роки тому

    Mdm. Can it be done on any other fabric too?

    • @SharonHoerth
      @SharonHoerth  2 роки тому

      I haven't tried any other fabric. It would have to be something with a nap, in other words, something with fibers that stand up so you can iron them flat with your stamp.
