    This is how I do my applique. I iron two sheets of freezer paper together- shiny side of one sheet to the paper side of the other sheet of freezer paper. I also leave a long tale so that when I come around I can tie off the threads together and tie a knot.

    Another lovely video Ariane. I find it helpful to use a pair of long nosed tweezers to get the freezer paper out as I’m finishing. I slide the one side between the velvet and the paper and help loosen it. Then I roll the tweezers over to help pull it away from the edges and keep rolling and bring the paper out of the opening.
    Lovely wood stencil design you used.

    • @ArianeZurcher212
      @ArianeZurcher212  4 роки тому +2

      Thank you Sandi. I think ppl will find this helpful. Also don’t apply the iron for too long! That’s why I added the text “Stop!” And “Stop talking” during it because I wasn’t paying attention to just how long I was keeping the iron on, which is kind of funny since I was saying not to do exactly what I was then doing! I could have edited all of that out, but thought it probably more helpful to keep it in and then show the struggle. 😳

    So if one uses a velvet embossed circle for a quilt block will it wash out? Is t just heat flattening the design? Is it appropriate to use for quilt blocks?

    • @ArianeZurcher212
      @ArianeZurcher212  3 роки тому +1

      Definitely will wash out as it's just heat set and the minute it's washed, all of the embossing will be washed away. ❤️
