These cars were never sold in my country, but I remember watching them in American movies when I was a kid. Kinda have an attachment to them and it's satisfying to see them being rescued.
I bought an 89 Caprice Black in Feb 1990 with red cloth not the LS. Mine had the 5.0 F41 suspension like yours. The original tires were I think P235 70R15 with a thin white stripe white wall tire. Handled like a corvette. Drove 160000 still had the original rear brake shoes and exhaust. Had to replace the fuel filter a lot. Only used premium fuel. Got 26 MPG highway. The wipers had a mind of their own, came on by themselves. Front speakers had to be replaced. Best car I’ve ever owned Good luck!
I love the way those doors sound when they close. Old cars like that are so hard to find these days, Cash for Clunkers killed off allot of cool old cars like that, many of which still had plenty of life left in them.
EXACTLY! SOOOOO MANY BEAUTIFUL VEHICLES. SUCH A SCAM THAT WAS... just like those go green causes, giant corrupt embezzlement scams for then and their cronie friends. N people still vote Democrat, morons
Let me tell ya people don't remember that nonsense but it's true they were taking fully running cars with near perfect interior to the scrap yard to sell you the Plastic your driving today. The car companies don't want us working on our own vehicles and I will not let them sell me car I cannot fix.
@@davidaslan8935 the cash for Clunkers videos were all over UA-cam. But people have short memories and don't really care about that stuff unfortunately.
This is my childhood car. My mom had an 86 that was a greyish blue color. We drove that thing everywhere. I wish I could find one like hers. It would be really nice
Congratulations on this amazing find ! This car brought back great memories of the good times. I was born in 1973, I grew up with these cars..... i miss my childhood !
Beautiful car and also my favorite model LS Brogham. Closest thing to driving a caddy. I remember seeing them all over the place back in the day lol i was born in 75 so I remember the Caprice classic and impalas being everywhere. Beautiful car
We had an '89 Cadillac Brougham d'Elegance from new and, you know what? That Chevrolet was much better built and just as elegant. Perhaps not quite a luxurious, but that '89 d'Elegance was the worst Cadillac we ever have had. Your Chevy is beautiful and reliable! Wish we had bought it instead.
My grandpa in Warren Ohio had one of these when I was a kid. His was white with navy blue velour interior. Very nice car. With my newly minted license I would drive my grandpa to K-Mart in that car. I recall the responsive V8 power and ultra smooth, isolated ride. Congratulations on getting this Caprice. '89 was a great year for this car.
@@maximusextreme3725 We all know of his grandpa. Are you trying to flirt with me? Yt boys have a weird way of asking a black man for xxx on the outside.
Gorgeous about the same shape as my white 89, I put an ad on craigslist about 8 years ago just saying wanted 77-96 Chevy caprice must be all original. Some older guy emailed me and sent these absolutely horrible pictures of it with the hubcaps off couldn't even tell it was nice. Drove about an hour and my jaw dropped when I pulled up. Been trying to find a black one but damn is it hard and the prices have gone insane
man thats a beauty. i had a 87 two door landau. it was loaded. no leather though. white with burgundy interior. 15x8 corvette rallies. had all the stainless trim along the rockers and down the side and over the top. composite headlights with those 3d taillights. curved rear glass. hidden wipers man i could go on.
Very well done and I like how you were very well versed about the vehicle you were about to buy I can relate so much to what you did and your journey to find a car I'm about to go on a journey myself for another Hot Rod Street car or a nice driver just for summer thanks again you've given me hope LOL
Wow congratulations big time with your heavy Chevy caprice classic brougham . True Elangance happy for you . Beautiful old school vehicle .... I'm still looking for my 91 caproce classic bubble vehicle December 15 2022.
Nice find on this 89 LS caprice those last box chevys were built in Arlington Texas thus is a piece of automotive history my father still has his 1977 caprice since new love it I learned to drive back in the late 80s when I first git my drivers license
Man I had the Exact same one but mint condition and it had 27,000 miles got it in 2007 from a retired couple out of Alger,MI during the winter it was Stored away when they would go to Florida. I sold it in 2014 with 67,000 miles on it worse thing I ever did this video brought back memories because I don’t even have a picture of the car when I owned it so that was a great find.
It's very very very very clean and nice now go ahead and put your touches on it I'm excited to see what you are about to do with it because I know you have great things coming I just bought me a 1989 Chevy caprice with only 19,489 original Miles on it but it's not the LS but she's definitely clean great video content always
Congrats and I am very happy for you. I understand know the feeling. I like when you said there is a good car but understand it will need something because it is old. You have open eyes and a open mind about your purchase. I know it means a lot to you. I am looking for a 1991 or 1992 Oldsmobile Toronado right now. I do not want the Trofeo trim level. I am looking the model with option package ISB and AM6, but I will work with a bucket seat model. Any color is fine except for white and red. I understand when you want something you have to be willing to wait for the right one, but eventually it will come as it has for you. You take care of that car.
The first car I remember was my mom's blue 1984 Caprice Classic. I loved that car, it was supposed to be mine, but my mom sold it for house repairs. This was back in the 90s, before the donk craze had fully taken hold, so surely that was her eventual fate. I still miss that car, I considered it family.
Yes Sir, that all cleaned up on some gold 26 or even 28 inch gold thangs ..got the swaybar underneath like I love to see. Most definitely a keeper bro..😎👍
Beautiful Caprice!! make mine an 85 with the 5.7 Diesel. Black with a dark burgundy pillow top cloth interior, red pin stripe and a 1/4 dark burgundy padded top, white wall tires...
I'd love to find a clean ex police car. I had two previously. A 1987, and a 1990. Both had 350s with the later having throttle body fuel injection. Both cars were fun as hell and built like a tank compared to cars today! Nice find on this one!
Really happy for you homie. I'm excited like I'm bringing the car home! I would keep both the black cars. You have 4 black whips now! Keep doing ya thang 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽

I really like the 1986-1990 Caprice Classic. Id like to find a Caprice Classic Brougham in Navy blue with buckskin(tan) interior. With those plush pillow seats and it has to have the 60/40 front seat. Also a electric moonroof. (very rare)
The 1988s here in Canada were throttle body fuel injection (Canada). I had a 1987 with the Olds 307 engine. Miss that car. Wish it'd had the 305. The trim sort of piece seems to crack in the front by the bumper/headlights...
