For the record, you do *not* have to use lasagna noodles for the "lasagna" recipe. An equitable quantity of Rotini (and other dried pastas with sufficiently abundant surface area, i.e. no spaghetti or linguini noodles) works equally well, and is ultimately easier to plate up. It's amazing, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Add a teaspoon of tomato paste to the veg while sautéing for an extra tomato kick if desired.
Noodles and pasta are two completely different foods.

Made the skillet lasagna yesterday - it was delicious. A tip if you cannot easily get Italian sausage where you live (or if it is extremely expensive, like here): Get some pork mincemeat instead. Spice it up with some crushed fennel seeds (about a teaspoon for a pound of meat), hot pepper flakes (I would use one small pepper or a bit more), freshly ground pepper, salt and a heaped spoon of oregano, just mix all of the spices into the meat. Cut up some bacon and throw that into the skillet before you cook the meat (I usually cook the bacon until it is no longer raw, but not quite done, then toss the mince meat in).
This is really tasty, a bit leaner than sausage and quite inexpensive.
Just made the one pot lasagna and my little brother and I had a pleasant dinner:) now we're watching overwatch yt vids

I find it hilarious that nearly every time Babish has made lasagna he's said "I'm not much for ricotta in lasagna" yet he keeps on doing it anyway as if it's mandatory.
Ricotta and cilantro: Necessary Evils.
As an Italian, it is. I’m lactose intolerant and I still have to do it.
He does it FOR US. Though not me, because I also don't really like ricotta.
I use cottage cheese
Try bechamel or mornay in your lasagna, honestly I love lasagna just not a fan of ricotta cheese. When I started cooking I decided to try making my own lasagna, and I found a recipe using bechamel (it was mornay which is just bechamel with grated cheese) and it was amazing.

Your basic videos are always great and so informative! Love this series
The fennel pot pasta was my second Basics with Babish (the first was the apple and sweet potato chicken) and it was by far my favorite! It's incredible yummy and super easy, not to mention cheap since a lot of the ingredients are what you recommend to have in your kitchen at all time.
"I- oh NO I did the food backwards!"
I laughed way too hard at that
Weirdly enough, that advert at the beginning was the most effective promotion on youtube I’ve seen so far XD
What? You haven't put the food backwards
Omg! I made the lasagna tonight and these days the mark of a good dinner is if our toddler will eat it... well, he ate it! And without any fuss... definitely a member of the clean plate club tonight! (Mom and Dad loved it too!!!)
Hi Mr Babish, thank you for cutting my lasagna cook time from 2 hours to 45 minutes.
Yup dee dup
I love that you show your failures as well as the successes. Makes it more relatable and less or a worry if a dish I recreate doesn't come out perfect first time
