in KB and MT, the gloves make shelling much better and most people are good at countering head movement with head kicks. In mma, shelling generally bad because strikes get through although it is possible. And more importantly, probably only like 10% of fighters could throw a head kick well.
@@kevinsyler2272 That's a difference scenario though, in that case you use weaves to get under and take angles for strikes or when jabbing to close distance keep your head off the center line. I was talking purely based of defensive manoeuvres
It’s funny cuz while it’s not top tier by any means, I learned head movement before proper defense out of necessity when I first started mma training cuz early in when I first started me and my friend used to spar until we were too tired to do any more and by the end my arms and shoulders were so tired I developed crude hands down head movement which lead to me using it more and more in between blocking and footwork defense
It's always fascinating to see head movement in a striking sense. Even Elite Thais or Kickboxers struggle with this
It's beautiful..prince Naseem🐆 comes to mind.☺️🤝🏾🤝🏽🤝🏻🤝🏿
The fact that head movement can feint takedowns in MMA unlocks it in a way that isn't possible in kickboxing
Different ways of fighting, Mt with 4oz gloves is quite different from the 10oz gloves
@@matheuscerqueira7952head movement feints punches. Wym? It’s just as useful in kickboxing

Cons of head movement
Slips
Headkicks
Pulls
Takedown entries
Rolls
Bodyshots knees and uppers
another great video
Love this video format
Footwork has to be the best form of defence, just don't be there to be hit lol!
When you’re in the pocket, head movement and guarding becomes more important
@@jocoolshow But even rolling and stepping back all require footwork
Don't be there to be hit is a good idea. But sometimes you're gonna have to "be there" if you want to get some kind of offense going.

use slips against guys who dont kick too much, pulls against bad wrestlers and rolls rarely if ever imo
You can roll if you're a good wrestler and your opponent is mostly a boxer
