  • In this video, we'll go through how to use the export feature within Adobe Xd to export production-ready design assets. There are many options to choose from when exporting and depending on your project, you may need multiple sizes for each individual asset so that your designs look crisp and clean on any device and screen size.
    In Xd, you can quickly export assets to different formats like JPEG, PNG, PDF, and SVG. In addition, you have the option to export your assets for design, web, ios, and Android.

    When i get export(design and web no matter) i am getting blurry and fade results. For this reason, i am starting to use Figma. Adobe will kill XD.

    Hi. Could u please tell how to export the complete design assets with all the fonts, colors codes etc. and all the other information for the final handover to the developer in latest Adobe XD 2020?

    Thank you for the video, I've been worried about the process of preparing the work for industry but you explained it so clearly. Would you normally export the entire artboard as reference and then export each individual asset to be sent off?

      Thanks so much for watching, Luke and glad this has helped you. Yes, that is correct, I would export the artboard for review, then the individual design assets if I am only using XD to share assets.

    Wonder why there isn't an option to export all components without selecting each and every object on the artboards first. If there are hundreds of components in a file, exporting assets requires a hell of a lot of SHIFT+CLICKS before exporting.

    Hi, great video thank you so much. I have a quick question. I got a file with several artboards from a designer. Now when I follow your instructions I get jpg files of the complete artboard but i just want to have the sigle assets (pictures, buttons, etc.) What am i doing wrong or do I have to ungroup the artboards first? TIA and happy days Max

    Hi, thank you for your video. I am trying to export my design but it is pixelated. I designed for iphone x in 375x812 px and then exported in ios x3 but it looks awful. I also tried exporting as design x1 and also as web x2. Nothing looks good as it looks in xd.

      Thanks for watching and for the great question. So I do believe I may have a solution that may help you...
      So if you're planning on exporting your design to 3x for IOS, you may want to first design AT 3x to start. Meaning that instead of designing at 375x812, start your design at 1125x2436 so that you can ensure that your images look good on every size.
      Does this work for you? Please chime back if you're still having the same issue. :)

      Hi Robert, thank you for the answer. So I did what you suggest and it worked well, I designed a 1125x2436 and exported 3x and looks good. BUT, the thing is that is very annoying to design at that dimension, all the measures are different, text sizes buttons and everything is much bigger and im not used to it. not cool designing at such a large canvas.

      @Jesse Thompson you can try to import your image in hi-res, group it, scale it down to the 1x size you want, hope it works for you, and I am sure there will be a plugin soon to deal with this problem or an update.
      Try importing image in 300dpi res.

    Hey there! How do you export them so that all the layers are separate? I exported my IOS app as a PNG just like you did, but when I import them to Invision, it's flat and seems as though it's only one layer...

    Is there something like how InVision makes it visible what all the assets are on their Inspect Mode? Sketch can sync w/InVision and then it all shows up automatically so you can share the InVision link and they can see the assets and info. As a PC user, I can only use Adobe XD, but since XD does have it's own prototyping to share, we don't need InVision, but does XD have an "inspect" version where people can just see the assets via the prototype?

    • @Cowbowbebop312
      @Cowbowbebop312 5 років тому +1

      Hey dude! I actually just found this today. In XD on the top right is the share button. On the 3rd item, you'll see, "share for development." I think this is what you're looking for!

    • @RobertBradford2
      @RobertBradford2  5 років тому

      Hi Lawrence that is totally correct and I am a PC user as well and Adobe XD does have that ability via the "Share For Development" feature in which others can view assets, colors, fonts, and measurements in a design prototype.

    • @LtotheDawg
      @LtotheDawg 5 років тому +1

      @@RobertBradford2 actually i learned that i setup the artboards incorrectly (I've been using XD for a few weeks), not adding icons and such as part of the components and assets across the board. it took some time, but after I did this, the normal share option is basically like a developers option, including all assets and colors. the only drawback is that it doesn't have the "download all assets" button that InVision has.

    I made an image in XD and want it to export as one whole PNG image. Its exporting as 6 different image assets. Anyway to export it as one whole together image? Thanks or does it have to be seperate assets in XD? New to the program...

    • @planetplease
      @planetplease 3 роки тому +1

      Select the entire group of assets, and then right click them to group them as a component. Once they are grouped, you can export as selected and it will export together as an image.

    is it still an advantage to use zeplin?

    • @RobertBradford2
      @RobertBradford2  6 років тому +2

      It's definitely much more of an advantage to use Zeplin, as it allows you to not only view design assets, specs, and extract code, but it is also a great way to work with teams to stay on the same page with product development.
      Ill be doing a futur video on Zeplin to go over some of these advantages.
      Thanks so much!
