I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.
*Coming up on having had this saw for a year....am a casual user and bought it to cut up sections for bowl blanks. Easy to start, **Bestfor.Garden** also recommend even after storage for a couple of months. Simple chain tension adjustment. Just cut up some 20" Osage Orange, including ripping bolts in half (at an angle). Like butter!*
I wished they start making the place you put your foot in a little bigger as I can never get mine in that little space therefore to me it makes it even more dangerous to start...
Given that you would normally be wearing safety boots when you start your chainsaw it is unbelievable that the handle loop will only allow you to get you foot in if wearing plimsoles, you would think the safety brigade would have spotted that by now!
Definitely agree for gas powered chain saws. I've been using a battery powered one for a good many years that has really served me well and starts easy by pressing the trigger release and pressing the trigger. But battery powered chain saws don't seem to have the cut power.
I'm sorry I refuse to believe this is real around the time he had to squish a little pimple a couple times - we have CARS that start with a button what's going on with chainsaw technology
I just need to know where to put the gas into the chainsaw. I bought a PoulanPro PR3816 today. Please help. Do I just pour it in to the hole? There are silicone "pipes" all throughout the inside and I am confused.
You should probably NOT use the saw until you are COMPLETELY PREPARED to do so. You only have to be careless once for a tragedy to happen. That TOOL/MACHINE is NOT A TOY!!!
Thank you so much. I'm having problems starting my Poulan chain saw. The instructions for it are screwed up too so I can't trust them at all. I always save great videos and I will be saving this one.
Yes that is safe for user but with starting chainsaw by dropping is much safer for ignition mechanics becaus you will not break starting rope or something else. If you are not familiar with tools do not use chainsaw at all!
Stihl chainsaws are slightly different since i use those. instead of that push bubble prime procedure on this Echo, theres an analog button lever that you lock in, prime (sound like a slight cough on the saw), pull the button to the on, pull, and there ya go.
Come on, you stepped at the wrong side of the saw handle. Your right/left foot should be on the wide bottom side of the handle, Right hand should be on the handle bar. Left hand pull the starting cord.
Got an olddddd echo chainsaw that aint worked in years. Changed fuel and bar oil and clean it out and it still works! Probably hasnt ran in 6 years. Thx
You use a gas oil mix there’s no oil in a separate tank like a car get a 50-1 mix at the hardware store if u don’t know how or want to mix the gas yourself you buy the cans of pre made 2 stroke 50-1 mix
Drop starting is perfectly safe as long as you remember to engage the chain brake before starting. The chain brake must of course be in proper working order.
Drop starting is for retarded people....there is a reason it's called "Easy Start" if you dropstart an easy start chainsaw you will wreck the primary spring of the Easy Start
Yes, in addition to OPE we make potato cameras. just kidding ;) This was transferred from a very old DVD to UA-cam quite a few years ago. It is on our list to reshoot.
Drop starting is PERFECTLY safe.........if the saw jerks downward, so what???? Worst case scenario is literally NOTHING.....especially with the saw cradled between your knees....NOTHING can happen!!!!! The saw is mounted at 2 points......it's the SAME thing as starting on the ground....except you Don't look like a fucking amateur.

my wife says the same thing!
Check leg lock method. No one really does it this way.

These things just don't act right when you need them the most! After all these years there should be one that instantly starts with a switch!

100% agree, they have push button on lawnmowers
@@johnnorth1961 I think they make some that starts automatically that cost about a thousand dollars if I'm not mistaking
I was watching football highlights 2 hours ago and ended up here ..
Agree with 1st commenter. Engineers need to get it together after all these years I still hate starting them.
The design today still feels old and outdated. You'd think by now they have a better way to start these things.
I'm sorry I refuse to believe this is real around the time he had to squish a little pimple a couple times - we have CARS that start with a button what's going on with chainsaw technology
Nice chainsaw, Keep up the good work man and your safety rules.
Wait, that's not how Doom guy does it at all!
you feel like Leatherface, yet?
huh?
Rule No1 never accelerate newly chainsaw. It should keep in idle speed for at list a minute.
start switch? No wonder I get a workout everytime I can't start my christmas present.
Thank you sir..I love my dad youtube

You do know that you need to use a fuel&oil mixture; right....?
There is no point in using the choke to start the saw if you put the chain brake on. This is why we run Stihl & not echo.

Do u put regular gas and oil in a motor chain saw
You use a gas oil mix there’s no oil in a separate tank like a car get a 50-1 mix at the hardware store if u don’t know how or want to mix the gas yourself you buy the cans of pre made 2 stroke 50-1 mix

For some reason, on my chainsaw, the chain is where the saw should be, and the saw is where the chain should be? How is this possible???
Was that filmed and coded with a potato?
Yes, in addition to OPE we make potato cameras. just kidding ;) This was transferred from a very old DVD to UA-cam quite a few years ago. It is on our list to reshoot.
@@echousa hahaha good answer! The entire youtube would thank you for a reshoot! It is a useful video. Good luck guys!
