Thanks for the Safety First tutorial. Even seasoned professionals need a reminder every once in a while.

Ive got oregon chainsaw pants and sthil safety gloves and safety helmet and ear protection as I’ve heard of bad horror stories about people getting injured or killed by chainsaws ( widow makers) and even when people don’t know how to properly use them. I have heard about a person in west cork that person almost cut off part of his foot just to make him self look good in front of his so called friends 😱😵‍💫🤕

Totally agree with you about chainsaws. Every time I pick up my saw I feel like a kid getting to do something there not normally allowed to do 😁

Glenn good advice sir. I try to always wear the chaps even though they can be a pain. Take care and stay warm.

Nice layout you got there! I only use canned gas in my OEM stihls. I don’t have non ethanol available here in CT. My clone saws I’ll run shell 93 with VP red that has ethanol treatment and fuel stabilizer. My 462CM with the bark box and filter running a 28” Stihl light bar is definitely my go to saw these days.

Thanks, Jeff! The 462 is a great go-to saw. I've seen you've been enjoying your new truck lately. Happy cuttin', man!

I can’t get non ethanol gas other than spending a fortune on Stihl motomix canned fuel, so I use ethanol gas and haven’t had major issues. The key is using the saw regularly… who doesn’t want to do that? 😆. All good information. Cutting with the bar tip definitely increases kickback risk. Newbies should definitely use a low kickback bar and chain. I use full chisel (Stihl yellow) because I like how it cuts, but there is definitely a difference in the tendency to “grab” in the wood and push the saw around, which can be dangerous for an inexperienced operator.

Agreed! And I think most guys appreciate a reason to break out their saw. Thanks for sharing your tips.
