I think it was harder for a black male in the 60s to have a lot of number 1s like the Beatles tbe Temptations should had over hand full of them in the 60s Get Ready is another one only #29
Nobody had a voice like yours David Ruffin! You left 29 years ago today and left a hole in music too big to ever be filled. You are so missed but I am glad for all the songs you left behind. I really love this one. It stands and all the other temp songs the test of time. They will playing you 1000 years from now.
anyone born in the 50's meaning they grew up with Motown,The Beatles and highest quality music in every genre can count themselves extremely lucky (me)
I would agree with you 100%, Motown was timeless, but not even comparable to the timeless genius found in the Beatles music. Not even remotely comfortable.
my children and now my grandchildren have grown up listening to dads/grandads motown music playing in the garden on sunny days. All of them now play this music by choice.
When I was a tiny child - 3 years old, my Dad would clean his office on Sunday with the radio on and take me along, and whenever I hear this song, that's what memory it brings up. I'm still listening to it today with the same nice thoughts of him.
@@jvalenzuela199 Or, just a good memory of times she spent with her father. There is plenty of music that my father used to play on a Sunday that I enjoy listening to today.
Oh, Yeah! I lived in Detroit during the Motown heyday -- 2 houses down from David Ruffin's mother on 8 Mile Road. Worked at the Chysler Centerline Plant. Those were the days. I was in my 20's ansd partyin' down!! RIP, my Man. You made a Beautiful Noise!
The Temptations sang this song and many more on my high school gym stage in 1965 Then in 1966 on the same high school stage we watched the Four Tops. Thank goodness for Montgomery Blair High School and the concerts they put on for their students 🎤🎶❤️👍
I a Vietnam Vet about 35yrs who live not to far from Water Payton, and you not believe this White man told me the only he feels he made out of Nam was do to Motown, Beautiful
Congratulations on your nice song "The Temptation '🎶Ain't To Proud To Beg🎶' inspirational thanks for sharing. Morine, Donald, Myola, Rommel & Emma, Graham.🙏
Never gonna give you a rickroll, but actually Ain't Too proud to beg was covered on It's Only Rock 'n Roll the 12th British and 14th American studio album by the English rock band the Rolling Stones, released on 18 October 1974. A pretty close cover, no disrespect to the Temptations.
MOTORCITY'S FINEST THE LEGENDARY "TEMPTATIONS" AND I WAS WATCHING "FRESH PRINCE OF BEL-AIR" DOING "THE TEMPTATION WALK" THAT BROUGHT ME HERE THIS MORNING.
I saw the musical play about the temtaions it was very moving and sad what thay went through.through the years and the actors were great.we met a older lady after the the play and she was was in tears and she remembers the group and saw them in concert.
i just wish we have groups like this who could strut there stuff, but we are lacking,in so many ways, but glad i was from the old school.long live the 50ties,60,70ties music.
My parents played motown nightand day when i was a kid and when i became older i went in another musical direction.now strangely enough im listening to what my parents were.life is funny like that.
I used to listen to oldies music on when I was young. I also listened to WALK 97.5 while I was asleep. I grew up with some 90's music, but I never grew up with 90's rap. If I could go back to say 1996, I would choose to grow up listening to stations like Z100 or Hot 97.
Yes indeed that and etta jones don't go to strangers and beethoven ben dance hours I like the type of music just solidify now I can vibe play songs that surprised my Grandma I born on and magnified my Dad mom music but facts
Five guys who were born to sing together
Who's still listening in 2024 ?
I hate when all these losers talk about listening to a song from the past in a current year, like they have never heard it before. Lmao.
Definitely me! I never stopped listening.
Love love love this record. Temptations best record ever! ❤
That would be me 😊
Nothing like Motown, greatest music of all time!!!
I second that emotion.😊
The Temptations on a Saturday morning. Reminiscing. It still has that effects. Music to my soul.
Love The Temptations Enjoy! RIP.
This song is GREAT....I was in High School when it came out....Yea Baby!
David Ruffin was a force!!
It is absolutely insane that a classic song like this only hit #13 on the Billboard charts. I mean what the hell.
I think it was harder for a black male in the 60s to have a lot of number 1s like the Beatles tbe Temptations should had over hand full of them in the 60s Get Ready is another one only #29
Symptomatic Friend, From the beginning, I considered it #1 and it is still my favorite song by the Temptations.
The Supremes had 12 #1 singles during the 60’s
America had no soul.......yet !!!
I agree , what an amazing track ❣️ , full of soul ❣️❣️ Just Love it 😍
The Temps were my favorite in the 60's!

If only he had loved the music more than the pipe.
The Temptations as a group made each song come to life, you could actually FEEL the lyrics in your soul!!

Lucky lucky me - born in the 50's and grew up with Tamla Motown, Soul and Reggae. Great lyrics and dance music.

Me! Watching the Temptations movie now and I think David Ruffin did take them to the Top with "Ain't to proud to beg" oneof my favorites
David was just another sad example of thinking he was bigger than the band. How did that work out for him
@@careybryant4587 I know not so good fir him
Motown put out some of the greatest music ever
Motown at it's finest, The Funk Brothers up to speed and the Temps Tempting singing,
Oh I'm in heaven.
Motown was the greatest music ever.
It was top-notch excellent music, but to say the greatest ever is the greatest stretch. 🤪
David Ruffin voice outstanding
David Ruffin. What A Voice.
People should be like music-color blind.
Mental note, people behind the music were never as colorblind as you pretend
The mighty mighty Motown machine in full swing....
David come back , the music world needs you
Just a terrific song!!
