Gardening becomes exponentially more expensive depending on where you live and if you are genuinely considering your plants to put a dent in your food budget
One thing she forgot is that you really need *one* plant. Strawberries produce offshoots like crazy, you cut 1 off - they make another 10. Those offshoots find ANY piece of soil and grow roots. They can be gifted to friends, or used to grow your "farm". However if you don't need them - it's best to cut them constantly so that the plant produces more berries
So true. My family had a decent sized patch of stawberries at one point, but now they grow wild, and we can't even pick them all before they get too ripe and fall off or get eaten by bugs.

It's April, it was freezing the last few days (-3 ° C at night) and our strawberries are blooming. Czechia can get very cold, and we have these strawberries outside for the third year now, and they are amazing, producing a lot of fruit all summer well into the fall.
My mom planted strawberries about 10 years ago in a confined garden near our house which grew well and began growing outward. There are now strawberry plants hidden in the grass everywhere on our country property, I’ve seen small strawberries over a hundred yards from the original plant.
It's better to dry that skin and seeds a little. I tried your method few times and it always rotten. It's better to make seed dry before you use them 👍🏻 or just buy some seeds, they are a lot cheaper than the strawberries from the shop 😉😉😉
@@alwaysinspired123 I put them on the soil and don't cover with the soil (like the celery). Just cover it with cling film to keep it moist 👍🏻 but it doesn't always grow.
The logic of "lifetime worth of strawberries from one" is that you grow strawberries from the ones you already bought(to eat mp) buying seeds isn't cheaper in this concept it's just an additional cost. I'm sure people are sensible enough to go for the seeds not the fruits if they want it just for gardening!(Or i hope they are sensible enough lol)

No way! The part of the plant which purpose is reproduction allows you produce more plants! But without being so salty, this can possibly bring unexpected results. Some of the plants in the shop are hybrids, and the one you grow yourself might be really different. Same species ofc, but it can be different shape, taste, etc. I bought some tomatoes and for some reason several seeds sprouted inside, so I let them grow. The final result was nothing like store tomatoes, smaller and more sour, but it's fun.
2 week of may. Pinch your buds the first year. So essentially you won't get a crop your first year. It forces the strawberries to grow a stronger root structure. Also, they will grow leader plants. Cut those off.
Question, are leader plants that grow from strawberries called runners, the long stem that sprouts out looking to go somewhere, if so what happens if you leave it?… just curious, thanks for sharing!!
