- The AEM Intake increases horsepower and torque. It makes the turbo noises more louder. But in this video I am going to be explaining why I switched over to the AEM Intake instead of the Cobb Intake. I also explain that this intake can avoid the State Ref.

I live in California so I went with the Mishimoto Intake bc it is Carb Legal. Good to know that AEM intake is also Carb Legal.

AEM directly told me, no tune required for the 21-732c on the WRX 2015+.

Nemoz_BB6 no it’s CARB EO. I had to send pictures of the unit installed on my car with my registration information since I bought it used and it didn’t have the sticker. But I can confirm it’s CARB EO

If i were you, i would wait till you have more engine mods. Your going to pay $300 for a custom tune thats not going to give you much power with just an intake.. Dont get me wrong the guys at Delicuous are amazing! I have my car tuned by them and it runs way better then stock.. Just wish i had more mods when i took it in...

Love your videos but dude you got the worst intake on the market. Shouldve left it stock bc you dont have to change intake unless you are restricted at the intake. Stock intake is good for 400awhp with what ive read from phatbotti tuning recipe for hp blog. Car is coming along nicely though, nice job👍

Justin Shinoda The AEM intake is known to cause all sorts of issues with the FA20DIT’s, especially with MAF scaling. Tuners don’t recommend it. Grimmspeed CAI would be the best option. But as K20a2fast4u said, the factory intake box is a great intake system for most applications and actually keeps IAT’s down. You’ll likely see an increase with that intake. And if it’s an oiled cone filter, it can/eventually will cover your MAF sensor with oil.

Anthös have you guys used all of the intakes? Intakes are all minimal gains Grimmspeed vs AEM is a moot point. I’ve had both and they don’t make enough difference to justify switching from one to the other. Let’s be real.....this is for the sound. As long as you’re not running around with an OTS tune.....you’ll be fine. I liked the fact that the AEM was CARB EO as well because well I live in Cali and it sucks with the Cops

From my understanding, this specific AEM CAI is only CARB certified for 2015-2016 MY, and even though it’s the same platform, the 2018 MY does not fall into that CARB Executive Order, so be careful amigo, you can still get state reffed with your current setup.

It’s up to 2017 last time I checked. But just send in the application form to AEM with the pictures and your registration. I’m sure it’ll carry over and was a formality
@@eddiestsla Thats what I am assuming, and some smog shops just check for the carb sticker then pass you. But then again I still have 4 years till I have to smog and I am assuming its going to layover. It is the same engine. But I will be sure to follow up with more info

Bro, the Cobb intake is carb legal, I live in Oregon and talked to Cobb surgeline directly and they even said it was and it should have came with a sticker

So when you say you tried all of the Cobb tunes does that mean it was running fine on a stock tune please help us who want to just run this on Stockton which it's supposed to be able to do thanks!

When you say the aem intake doesn’t like the Cobb tunes what do you mean by that? Does it lean out or?
Oh it is just garbage, probably will do engine damage if you WOT. So just don't, get a protune if you are going to with a non cobb intake.
What map did you use for the aem intake
ISM-209 WRX I used the stage 1. I tried stage 1+ and I miss fired when giving it gas
